I totally agree with this.
I suppose I would put JB in there too but I wouldn't want him to win..
I honestly want either chris or Pete to win.
All the others(now Jamie has gone) bore me.
My fave pros are jowita, nadyia and probably Karen.
Montel next to go for me.
Don't enjoy alijza or Johannes

Heresy! I love Jojo!

I don't.
I wish he'd stop bursting into tears.

MarkWithaC · 27/11/2024 16:33

I won't miss Jamie. I don't know why but I just didn't warm to him. I think he seemed a bit like a kid, but not in a good way.

I really feel for Montell. Johannes looked so sad for her. Their QS was a joy.
Chris was as good as someone who's a non-dancer and blind could be in a paso, I think. I quite liked it.

I like Pete but I do feel aggrieved that he's still here and Punam and Sam, who were in the same bracket as non-dancers who were slowly improving, were booted out so much sooner. I think they were both better than him too.

Tasha's AS was more like a showy, commercial contempowaft. I want Hollywood glamour from an AS.

Sarah's rumba was, as Craig said, lacking connection. It also lacked earthiness IMO; it was very showy and flicky.

JB was good, nice style of Charleston. Lauren's wig was a crime. Beautiful as she is, I just got 'Victoria Wood character'. Her own actual hair is very '20s but they just seem terrified of a woman with the nape of her neck visible.

I missed the intro to the pro dance with he wheelchair user; were the guests from an inclusive dance company? or a range of companies? There seemed to be many different dance styles. The guy dancing with Nikita Shock wow – he moved like a rubber band.

Next week: I think Chris and Dianne will put in a quickstep for the ages.
Looking forward to JB and Lauren too, and Pete and Jowita (although he doesn't know what West Side Story is Shock)
Montell has been royally stitched up.
Sarah and Vito: I'm never sure if the whole world/voting audience really does love Wicked and will throw votes at anything that invokes it, or if the Strictly producers just think so. I don't think a Charleston will suit her; she's too prim.
Tasha and Aljaz will do well but boy am I tired of her.

Thank you for the new thread. Thanks I've been watching more with family and being sociable with them, so being more unsociable on the threads.

I have a Christmas do on Saturday (where has the year gone?!) so will have to catch up later, which is a shame because I like the musicals week. Some nice ballroom too by the looks of things.

I was sorry Jamie went, I thought his dance was sweet and enjoyed it on the Saturday show. Montell had a good dance though, and I was surprised she was in the dance off. I think dancing her salsa she would have been knocked out, and I don't fancy her chances with this week's really. She's tall with a lot of long slim arm and leg, which could look lovely and graceful, or a bit uncoordinated in a rumba!

I think Cynthia Erivo might have been in The Colour Purple musical, but that's all I know about it.

Ex-wives for an Argentine Tango is weird, I don't think it's slinky enough, it's too pop.

Wasn't Cynthia Erivo a guest judge a few years back? And is in the Wicked film?

EineReiseDurchDieZeit · 27/11/2024 17:29

Yes on both counts @dollybird

I think it entirely depends on the type of Charleston Sarah and Vito do. A slick, stylish one should be ok. But a more down to earth tumbles and tricks I think she’ll struggle.

GrouchyKiwi · 27/11/2024 18:22

Have you seen Sarah's turn as Mary I in the style of Kate Bush on Horrible Histories? She is amazing in it, it's very funny.

FagsMagsandBags · 27/11/2024 22:22

Tasha's AS was more like a showy, commercial contempowaft. I want Hollywood glamour from an AS.

@MarkWithaC that's how I feel about the AS. Theirs bored my boney arse rigid.

I also think that Montell has been stitched up although not in an evil way, she just stands very little chance of not being in the dance off with a rumba. I think Pete's waltz will be competent and that's where we are with him now. He will be competent but nothing beyond that. I think JB and Lauren's Viennese waltz to Let's Go Fly a Kite will be delightful, the twirling around and around while the chorus is being sung will make me happy and we know they'll do it well. I think that Sarah can give good Charleston because although we've not seen it on the show yet she's very good at physical comedy and so I'm hoping for some of that in her Charleston. Given Chris's AS at Blackpool I have no doubt he can give good quickstep because so much of the AS was quicksteppy. I think Tasha's AT will be technically decent but lacking in sex, character and personality.

It will be interesting to see who tops the leader board because I think it could be just about any of them apart from Pete and probably Montell too.

severyyhv · 27/11/2024 23:17

I was surprised Pete wasn't in the bottom two he's definitely the weakest dancer now.

Surely he will go next week. I think the final four will be-

Chris
JB
Sarah
Tasha

I think Montel is better than Chris but unfortunately not popular enough.

I think Tasha will win though.

Pashazade · 28/11/2024 08:25

I would be surprised if Tasha wins, I don't think she's connecting, enough of us on here have said she's an excellent dancer but doesn't have that spark, that I suspect the wider public will reflect that.

MarkWithaC · 28/11/2024 08:37

Tasha won't win. She is the classic ringer who will get to the final because she'll always score high enough with the judges to avoid the DO, or at worst she will be in the DO and will be saved, but then in the final she'll be the first out because she's not that popular with audiences, who tend not to vote for ringers.
(do they still do the thing where they kick one person out of the final first? I can't remember).

MonkeyTennis34 · 28/11/2024 08:45

I agree Montell has been stitched up re the rhumba (?)

I would love for her to not be in the dance off this week, seems utterly unfair that she's been in it so much.

Re Lauren's hair, I thought the blonde bob looked fabulous on her and really suited her features.

So if we think Tasha won't win, who will???
I'm hoping for Sarah.

xsquared · 28/11/2024 08:57

No, they haven't done for a long while.

As Chris seems to be getting the lion share of votes, I'd say Chris will win it.

If by some miracle, it's Pete who is getting the most votes, then Pete will survive not being in the dance off and win it!

TennisWithDeborah · 28/11/2024 09:48

I’d be fine with any of them winning it. Chris and Tasha have overcome disability to get this far, which is admirable, Chris in particular. JB didn’t have the best start and had to get used to a new pro (no one’s fault, but it disadvantaged him and he’s dealt with it well). Pete and Montell are “journey” contestants who seem to enjoy dancing now, and Sarah is 50+ superwoman and reminds me of Debbie M (my favourite that year) in terms of her SCD experience. I’d like them all in the final but sadly that’s impossible!

I can’t see anyone beating Chris in the public vote but who knows.

Hoping for no injuries. 🤞

Samcro · 28/11/2024 09:51

tasha is a dancer, so don't really seeing her "over coming" disability.

I really would like Chris, pete and montel in the final.(won't happen)

i find sarah and vito odd. there is imo no chemistry between them. maybe its that age gap.

MonkeyTennis34 · 28/11/2024 11:16

I find Vito's over-excited puppy personality extremely wearing.

I would imagine Sarah does too 🤣

I think he just does it for the cameras.
I bet he's nothing like that in rehearsals.

I think it's because for quite a few years recently, there have been injuries to some of the celebs.

This has caused there to be fewer than four couples in the final.

Mittens67 · 28/11/2024 13:04

Has anyone else been messaged via fb by a fake Pete Wicks? Modus operandi is he likes a comment you have made on the official bbc strictly fb page and then gets in contact.
Happened to me and a friend.

Yes, thank you, that's it, not that I'm old and bewildered Grin

FagsMagsandBags · 28/11/2024 22:02

It seems to be very unusual to have four in the final these days but I'm aware that could be something I'm making up and that a three person final only happens once every few years.

I don't think she will - I certainly hope not! Technically she's doing a great job, as she should with her background. I don't think she is connecting with the audience, and I don't think she has any particular chemistry with Alijaz either.

StarDolphins · 28/11/2024 22:25

I have bought a tv license just to watch SCD & I really, really want Chris to win.
