White bread sandwich with beetroot slices and black pepper - done.

Sunbird24 · 21/11/2024 20:05

‘Eclectic’ shit

TheDogsMother · 21/11/2024 20:05

I've always wondered what they do with all those fabulous ingredients that don't t get selected by the chefs

Evening all - hope I manage to stay awake for this - predict beetroot cake

That and a salad (trying to recreate a salad I got in tesco years ago) are the only 2 times I've ever done beetroot

I am firmly against beetroot in dessert. Vegetables do not belong in pudding, not even carrots. I will not be moved.

EsmaCannonball · 21/11/2024 20:05

'Beetroot comes in many shapes and sizes and colours.'

It comes pickled, Marcus. Pickled.

'It lends itself to desserts, as well.'

Sure, Monica.

In true dedication to the cause I have had it running live on my phone before pressing play on iPlayer.

Yes I know I could just hit watch live on the tv but then iPlayer won’t show the next program properly.

You don't do carrot cake? With a gorgeous Creamy topping?

Maybe some cheese as well?

Sunbird24 · 21/11/2024 20:06

I do like home-made pickled beetroots, but every other kind I’ve tried has been meh.

The crew all look like Brendan Fraser in that Whale film.

It’s the scary poo the day after eating lots of beetroot that gets me.

I do always get a bit of a fright when I use the bathroom after the children. (They apparently are dead set against flushing, the little pests.)

I'll have yours.

Michael's description of beetroot sounds like lies you tell your kids to get them to eat their vegetables.

@EsmaCannonball and so would I 🤣🤣

WinterCrow · 21/11/2024 20:08

The mother-in-law grew too much beetroot one year. We tried it pickled, roasted, boiled & mashed, but I liked it best on the compost heap.

Blueberrycreampie · 21/11/2024 20:08

I'm feeling a bit underwhelmed with beetroot as the main ingredient to be honest.

Sunbird24 · 21/11/2024 20:08

William getting a stern reminder there, hope he listened!
