Starting a thread for MAFS NZ.

Is it any good? Still a bit traumatized by MAFS UK and trying to decide whether to watch.

I know it's a sensitive issue, but i think the beard is a compensatory beard.

It's a lot gentler so far, but early days.

Definitely kinder and duller at the moment but I think it'll liven up. Hopefully Dad will have more to say. I doubt if any of the parents can match the Mings or Station.

Why was she called Station?

She looked a teeny bit like Station from Bill and Ted's Bogus Journey.

Hopefully nobody will snog the guinea pig or whatever that was.

Goodness I just spent about 20 minutes watching series 1 episode 1 of MAGS NZ and thinking a) I am sure I have seen this before and b) this is nothing the guys on Mumsnet are talking about!

The producers seem to have tried to make the show lighter in feel than the "lets kill everyone" UK version.

Hmmm I'm not feeling it so far. It's a very different vibe from UK/Aus version. I know UK is full of fillers and toxic people, and this seems much more genuine but it's not stoking my interest. Shameful to admit, but it's just not as entertaining without drama!

The Beard is truly ridiculous. Combined with the weird tantric breathing thing I just can't take him seriously. A beard like that is making a statement, though as yet it's not clear what the statement is! Facially he reminds me of someone but can't think who. Pete wicks maybe??

I think the statement might be 'I have no personality'.

Not sure I have the energy to get into it, is it as addictive so far as MAFSUK?

I turned it off as it was boring

I'm sticking with it at the moment, it's only a short run.

I admit I found it dull too but more for the amount of time spent on the stag/hen stuff.

So I’ve gone back to series 4 of Oz which I’ve never watched and am enjoying it immensely. Everything looks gorgeous, John and Mel look so young, no one has fillers or lips, and one of the grooms got laughed at by the bridesmaids for not wearing socks. Happy days.
