The vibes they are giving off is that of s relationship decades old and all the resentment that has built up. It’s dead as a very dead thing

hoxtonbabe · 29/11/2024 20:57

Think about what?!? Thatcher is soooooo not interested in anything he has to say, and has gone off him, it’s all her way or no way and she needs to own it and be gone rather then all this woe is me crying stuff.

Villagetoraiseachild · 29/11/2024 20:58

It's almost like a sibling fight.

hoxtonbabe · 29/11/2024 20:58

Jesus those trousers are practically painted on beardy 🤣

Donttellempike · 29/11/2024 20:59

Beardy rocking ageing pimp stylee

Villagetoraiseachild · 29/11/2024 21:00

Uh oh.

Bluetrews25 · 29/11/2024 21:02

Oooh, looks good for Monday, yay

Villagetoraiseachild · 29/11/2024 21:02

Family intervention?

dapsnotplimsolls · 29/11/2024 21:03

I think I have a bit more sympathy for CJ than others do. I agree it's dead as a dodo though.

OnlyWhenILaugh · 29/11/2024 21:10

I think the editing in this is even more direct in it's manipulation of the viewer than uk. The production did it with the laugh of the red headed woman (name gone already) - lots of cutting to laugh, laugh, laugh etc. And in using the fading and echoing on CJ to signal she's not listening. Unnecessary.

Doubleraspberry · 29/11/2024 23:53

We’ve noticed the editing for effect too. They might as well add sound effects in.

I am also more sympathetic to CJ than others on here. I don’t like or trust Jesse and she wanted to leave. I’m sure neither is perfect but she just wants this tedious never-ending argument they can’t resolve over, and I feel that too. They’ve known each other less than a week.

OnlyinBlackandWhite · 30/11/2024 00:43

Just caught up. Poor Cara, being in Mike Prison, she seemed like she was signalling for help.

CJ is very relentless and Jesse is very immature, their 'intervention' made things worse. I am a bit of an over-reactor myself so I almost sympathise, but you can't put two over-reactors together- or you get a mess.

Why does everyone worship Mike anyway? Piripiri looks as him as if he's a God come down from heaven.

OnlyinBlackandWhite · 30/11/2024 00:45

Jesse has dilated pupils (could be emotion), over-reacts, laughs inappropriately and works in finance. I could be adding two and two and making five, there's just something off about him.

TriangleLight · 30/11/2024 08:13

ah! Yes, @OnlyinBlackandWhite that would seem spot on

Doubleraspberry · 30/11/2024 08:27

I wonder if that was how he brushed his teeth? That would make a lot of sense for the whole scenario.

Would explain dodging out for a “toothbrush”.

TriangleLight · 30/11/2024 09:33

Got to scrub those gums!

Ohhhh, maybe.

Cara J does look like she is suffering tho, needs it to stop, has lost the will to negotiate a way forward and is obviously reaching out for support where she can.
I think she needed some one to one support before the attempted couple intervention/reconciliation. It looked like she saw the intervention as biased in favour of Jesse and no justice for her. Her body language was very telling.

Italiangreyhound · 30/11/2024 12:58

Since when has working in the same line of work been a sign people are compatible romantically or sexually.

Sadly, the women do all seem to think even a year younger for the guy is too young for them. Currently (symaltaouosly)watcher MAFS NZ season 3 and again there is a guy a year younger than the woman. And again it is not working out!

And John was really snappy with her when she tried to explain how frustrated she was.

*Doubleraspberry"

The trouble is, IMHO, going onto this show people do need to be a bit robust. She is coming across as very vulnerable.

kenyaswhiterefrigerator · 30/11/2024 17:34

My theory is that Jesse saw an ex or someone he didn't want CJ to meet and dashed out and said the first excuse that came into his brain (need a toothbrush)

He'd said it was a local tavern and he goes there a lot. She said his mood suddenly changed and he insisted on leaving immediately and never actually used the toothbrush.

Appalonia · 30/11/2024 17:34

Just started watching last night's show and I really think some of these pairings work much better! Was also nice to see them having fun and being more themselves, the couples have got v intense too soon, and not in a good way...

Appalonia · 30/11/2024 17:38

Ooh partner yoga looks fun! Especially on a beautiful beach...

FantasticButtocks · 30/11/2024 17:47

Beardy has cottoned on to how Piri being open, vulnerable etc and having a fear of abandonment has made Steff like him more... so suddenly Beardy has a fear of abandonment... mmm 🤔
