Fill up the old thread first 🙂

I've loved this series (even though my favourite Nathan didn't win).

I think it's because people were mainly being themselves for better or worse. . the last few years on C4 it was more Love Islandy, lots of beautiful wannabes promoting their putative influencer careers.

This year people seemed more genuine. We saw them warts, nail fungus and all. It's that sort of people watching that's drawn me in for the last 20 years and lead to my eventual career change and MSc in Pyschotherapy.

@CellophaneFlower the problem with that kind of moderation is that people see a deleted post and other people will make it look like you said something terrible because you obviously can't repeat what you said so then you become the bad guy. This happens regularly on here.

DwarfBeans · 16/11/2024 12:38

That's cancel culture right there. And I honestly believe the people getting cancelled are the ones who genuinely care about others because they question instead of blindly accepting and following.

We could all shrug and say, okay young people, crack on, fuck your lives up. But we actually care!

Exactly. In my eyes, if somebody actually has said something terrible, why report it anyway. Leave it there for all to see and allow others to respond to accordingly.

Too many posters think that getting a post deleted means they're right 🙄

I STILL don't understand how Ali was OK (to the point where she defended and excused her), with Lily's behaviour which affected everyone in the house.
They did tasks to win the luxury shopping budget and within hours, Lily broke rules and they were on basic rations and no hot water, several times.
Yet the person Ali chose to target was Khaled, whose crime was - in her words -being fake and not authentic?
That was just her opinion, and anyway - how does someone being fake and inauthentic affect the oher housemates lives?
They are all in there to play a game!

I just don't get it 🤷‍♀️

The interview was so cringey. She was very careful to choose her words in response and lot of times, she actually paused and said "errmmmm..." before answering, and did that weird sideways look into the camera (towards us, the viewers which I found quite disconcerting!)
I'm glad they addressed her treatment of Khaled, and showed the clip of her and Lily talking about Emma, with Emma looking daggers at her 😁

Also, did anyone else pick up on the fact she said (at least twice) "oh was that aired/did they show that then"
One clip was her saying in the DR about wanting to leave.
Second was the argument on the night before the final with Marcello.
AJ even said "Well you're on camera..."
Why would she think those moments wouldn't be?!
Bizarre!

It was the most uncomfortable and awkward final ever.

This in a nutshell. It's the suppression of other people's right to have opinions while expecting everyone to listen to theirs. From what I saw, Ali was classic.

Ricky Gervais: Just because you're offended doesn't mean you're right.

Soon we won't be allowed to make any kind of joke or have any sort of opinion. It's 1984 Big Brother and it's a sad time to be alive.

Says the person who wrote The clue is in the two t shirts she wore sending messages to the viewers. BB should not have allowed it. 😆

Aquarius1234 · 16/11/2024 13:17

People often speculate what may or may not be shown. That's no issue. Just makes them more into game play.
Marcello should have confronted Ali earlier and Emma for that matter, but they didn't...
Regarding Lily, Ali said on instagram mini interview that she found her a beautiful soul, hilarious and wanted to protect her even if it meant the other housemates were annoyed about that... didn't care basically! Oh and saying she's a friend for life again !
Not sure I believe that last bit.

Aquarius1234 · 16/11/2024 13:19

Lily tends to repeat what Ali says which is weird.

OldFred · 16/11/2024 13:32

@Aquarius1234
Absolutely agree with you, both Marcello and Emma should had those conversations much, much sooner.
The outcome may have been different - who knows 🤷‍♀️

I have said in the previous BB thread that Lily brought out the saviour complex in Ali.
Maybe Lily was her own little personal project.

DwarfBeans · 16/11/2024 13:35

@McNicey would you like to explain further? That's a direct example of her manipulation and siding with groups who shut people down and won't allow discussion.

When people show you who they are believe them the first time.

OldFred · 16/11/2024 13:54

To conclude my own BB experience (😆)
and leaving this thread on a happier note...

My top 3 favourite moments, in no particular order are

  1. Chickengate (and the subsequent 'Totally Oblivious' task)
  2. The fan mail letters
  3. I'm with ZeZe on this one - Hanah in the DR following being put on basic rations for the 50th time.
"... not even Coco pops" , which, incidentally, is now a catchphrase in our house every morning 😂

Edited

That was bizarre, that convo seemed to come out of nowhere and clearly did as Segun walked in and thought they were pulling his leg 🤣

It's obvious Marcello kept a lot in as didn't want to be seen as the bad guy. Unfortunately for him, had he put Ali in her place sooner and not taken his frustration out on Sarah (clearly as he realised the public had gone cold on her) he may have won a few more votes.

OldFred · 16/11/2024 13:56

Oh, and the soundtrack throughout the whole series! 😁👌

CellophaneFlower · 16/11/2024 13:57

My ultimate favourite moment was the look on Segun's face when Lily did her first eeeeeek 🤣🤣🤣

CellophaneFlower · 16/11/2024 14:00

I did actually LOL during the gardening task before we'd seen their outfits and they zoomed in on Hanah 😂

dapsnotplimsolls · 16/11/2024 14:02

Chickengate for me too. The best task was the Government one. Another great moment was Segun having to say something honest and talked about Nathan's teeth 😁

OldFred · 16/11/2024 14:04

Oh and of course - thanks to all of you on here who made me proper laugh out loud so much throughout (And put a different perspective on some things)
There's no one else I'd rather share my BB experience with 🤗🤣

JaneJeffer · 16/11/2024 14:09

I'm still going to nominate you @OldFred. Oh shit there goes the luxury shopping budget and my snack provider. Oops

Chickengate was brilliant 😂
