I just think she feels it bodes her and her job well to come across as understanding and nurturing.

Sarah is still not getting it & she really shouldn't have said it, even as a joke.

I also don't appreciate people who have not contributed anything to the thread until now coming on to accuse others of being blind to racism.

When Ali is talking to Lily she's talking to the viewer. Witness that conversation a minute ago - without saying the words she planted the idea that Emma is two-faced. Nice to your face but talks about you when you leave. She also said Sarah's always insulting people's appearances. I've not seen much of that.

I do like Sarah. However, I think there are some things that you just shouldn't joke about, the boats reference being one of them.

I think she was right on both counts @TellingBone - Emma is very 2-faced but has a way about her that makes it seem less bitchy & Sarah is always talking about people's appearance (usually with Emma!).

I assumed it was projection on Sarah's part as she feels insecure about her own appearance so haven't taken what she's said about people's looks to be a reflection of what she thinks of them but more how she is insecure about herself.

Re the gloaty row, I'm going to assume BB will have seen and heard ALL of the conversations and interactions regarding the comments before speaking to Sarah.

Haven't we had a Sarah type racist controversy in a previous series.

I can remember Emily(?) Emma (?) being ejected from the house, after (and I may have misremembered this) she had quoted some song lyrics that contained the N word, and another housemate, Charley, (who was an argumentative woman anyway), after a bit of a pause, said "you can't say that to me".

I don't think Emily was using the word directed at the Charley, but Charley complained and Emily was removed from the house.
