Kieran is a twat. He was asked to list the good things about Kristina, which would highlight all the ways she was different from his ex.
But he turned that into pros and cons, and actually only focused on negatives.
The positive points then got turned into negatives - it was as if he was saying "Oh my ex was abusive, but she seemed lovely on the surface. Kristina is lovely ergo she must also be an abuser." Actually nuts.

Exactly this. It’s such a shame after how well they started off. He’s so scared of getting hurt that he’s gone into full-on Chandler from Friends mode and started sabotaging the relationship rather than work past the fear of commitment. I think that ex comparison task has probably finished them off tbh as he does seem to have drawn the conclusion that just because Kristina resembles his ex on paper that must mean she’s going to do the dirty on him. It's really unfair on her and I can tell she's getting sick of his behaviour, I'm wondering if she ends up ditching him tbh.

This is a bit outing but feck it!
When I was younger and we were living in the States, there was a bring a dish kind of party on the division where we lived. My DM thought she'd bring something very English so she made a trifle. She saw one of the other party goers dollop a huge spoonful of her trifle on the plate with the rest of his savoury food and has forever more been convinced that she was the inspiration for the sticky recipe page episode with Rachel in Friends when she made the shepherds pie/trifle combo! 😂

Totally off the point, but what is a division?

How ironic we all like Adam now!

I'm finding him more likeable lately as he is making an effort. Got to say I felt sorry for him last night. I got why the lingerie touched a nerve for Polly, but his gesture showed he’d been listening to her re wanting more sex and it’s a pity Polly couldn’t see past her insecurities over Amy to acknowledge that.

I was thinking about undiegate and Pol Pot's reaction is so weird. It's MAFS so Shitlid and Barbie didn't choose to go undie shopping, they would have been told to do it by the the producers. Pol Pot must know that, so why has she gone all weird about it?

I was also heavily distracted by the split jeans. All I could think of was how ridiculous they'd look if it was a bit windy. Great sails of jeans flapping behind you and probably bunching up between your thighs. A stylish look indeed!

RancidRuby · 30/10/2024 07:07

Exactly! I think all this nonsense about romance being flowers, candles, bath running etc. just highlights how young/immature some of them are. For me (very much middle aged) romance is more about being treated with respect and consideration, as an equal and with a deeper understanding of who someone actually is - it's in all the daily actions of a partner enhancing your life, not a single isolated generic romantic act which quite frankly is piss easy to do - like scattering rose petals all over the shop before serving up a bit of pasta with a jarred sauce chucked on it (I wonder if he cleaned up after himself too?).

What stood out for me last night was that Amy was quite happy to reel off a list of things she wanted done for her so she could feel like a 'princess' but there didn't seem to be any sense of what she could do for her partner in return to make him feel special. I'm a sucker for romantic gestures personally and the rose-petal thing would bowl me over if DH did it (even though I'm in my 50s 😄) but making a partner feel special should work both ways.

NerdWhoEatsMedlar · 30/10/2024 09:58

Surely rose petals stain the flooring.

Marcipex · 30/10/2024 10:02

i just wanted to sweep them up.
romantic, moi.

ruethewhirl · 30/10/2024 10:17

I keep wondering how Polly reacts when she finds out Amy and Shitlid shared the bed. Anyone know if there's an emoji for a nuclear explosion?!

looked like they were those fabric pretend ones...

On another not Sacha when she wore the headband with the bow on reminded me of the doll in the Argos advert.....

Gastonsmultistoreycarpark · 30/10/2024 10:33

@Surelyitscoffeetime I guess it's a little bit like a housing estate in the uk. Strictly speaking I think it used to be called a subdivision, I think, where the "city" (really wasn't a city that we would understand!) is divided up into subdivisions.

rc22 · 30/10/2024 10:56

I haven't been on any of the threads for a while but also starting to think Adam's actually a lot nicer than he originally appeared. I don't even call him shitlid anymore although still find his haircut pretty shit.

TriangleLight · 30/10/2024 11:01

Do they get paid to be on it?

kenyaswhiterefrigerator · 30/10/2024 11:05

@TriangleLight

Here's a quote from Arthur

‘They give you whatever you would have been paid at work, you have to prove what you earn so can’t say you make £10,000 a week,’ he told The Sun.
‘I think they have a maximum is probably around £1,200 to £1,300 a week. It's a good deal.’
Arthur added, ‘You’re not working, getting everything paid for and staying in a beautiful apartment.’

DH said exactly that. That doll creeps him out every time.

murasaki · 30/10/2024 11:38

She's going to go postal.

To be fair, i wouldn't have done, but mostly because they've only known each other a short time and it's nominally a marriage which both sides know is in trouble. I'm perfectly happy bunking up with long term mates if needed, but there was a sofa, and everyone else managed it fine.

murasaki · 30/10/2024 11:39

I suspect the producers told them they had to share. And probably that everyone else was too.

Villagetoraiseachild · 30/10/2024 11:56

Gaston looked like he was suppressing a volcanic sized fart when he heard they shared a bed, his bed I think, the one in which the parking manoeuvres happen.
This is going to explode later.

Passive aggressive bed sharing methinks, though it did look very innocent, but not considerate to the partners. And they've all surely watched previous eps so must know that no one else has done it, I think, in Mafs history.

It's hard to watch. Kristina seems lovely and Kieran is clutching at straws for any reason to ditch her. If I was her I would walk. There is no point trying to persuade him and he has too many issues which he hasn't yet dealt with.

TriangleLight · 30/10/2024 12:29

@bumblenbean omg me too! Black jeans from TopShop with zips from the top to the bottom! I was 15! I shoulda kept them didn't realise they were back in fashion. But also o was a size 10 then now a size 16 😂

@RancidRuby lol I have to say at nearly 40 I still love it when my DH brings me flowers and does romantic gestures as well as day to day things. Nice to get a bit of everything.

Edited

Of course, it's lovely to get both, the icing on the cake as well as the fundamental stuff. It just seems like the women on MAFS seem to put too much stock in the former rather than the latter and the amount of excitement over a bloke tossing them a supposedly romantic crumb when in most other ways he's a dickhead or an otherwise decent bloke getting lambasted for not being romantic enough just has me rolling my eyes a bit. And as another poster has pointed out, where's the romance from the women? It all plays into the narrative that men need to be knights in shining armour and women princesses.
