Those side split jeans were shocking! I had an equally classy pair with zips all the way down the side but this was in the early noughties when I was 18 🙄

I think the sex shop jolly was a bit weird but polly's constant 'I feel sick' 'I'm getting really emotional here', 'I'm actually shaking' is just ... bizarre. A few weeks ago she'd be swinging from the chandeliers at the prospect of Lid buying her underwear and giving her sex vouchers (🤢). That said, Amy did seem a bit flirty with Lid - I doubt she fancies him but I got a bit of a 'I know you want me and I'm going to tease you with a trip to the sex shop in the guise of helping your marriage' vibe.

Also, the way she informed Gaston of all the reasons he's a far inferior husband was a bit harsh - she had an annoying smirk the whole time and the constant references to being treated like a 'little princess' were cringe. A morning coffee is great but personally the idea of having food and drink constantly made and a bath run for me every morning is a bit suffocating. Can't she run her own bath? 🙄

murasaki · 29/10/2024 23:13

I've never understood running a bath as a grand romantic gesture. It's putting a plug in and turning a tap for God's sake.

Those edible bead/sweets bras remind me of something that happened years ago. A chap was trying to put one of those necklaces of sweets around my neck and eat the sweets. He was a bit touched. Anyway, when my mum stopped pissing herself laughing - it's okay I was an adult woman - she helped me persuade him to go away.

Anyway, he did, came back nearby a few minutes later (we were at the busstop and he was on the other side of the road now), stripped naked and then squatted and did a big shit in the street. The police arrived then. Whenever I see those edible bras that's what I think of.

🤣 OMG

I'm trying to catch up on the thread but reading it the wrong way round because I forgot to bookmark

Devillishlooloo · 30/10/2024 00:25

I’m behind but I just had to say how disgusted I was with the ixperts, over Alex and his behaviour.

Italiangreyhound · 30/10/2024 00:58

How ironic we all like Adam now!

MixedCouple2 · 30/10/2024 01:39

@User364837 agree seems to be no sincerity with them.

With Adam it feels pike he was bullied by polly and "experts" to find her attractive and forced it. How can they do that! I dont think any couples would be left if they gave proper advice!

Nathan needs to be protected from the Monster inlaw. I have an uncle exactly the same not a bad bone in his body but very vacant but very good with his Job and well liker by everyone. But like Nathan ended up married a very controlling bossy boots.

Sasha looks miserable you scan see the dynamic has changer with her and Ross.

Kieren is really holding back something major. He is really truly on purpose pushing Kristina away. It all changed when Kristinas PMDD came up on the retreat. I noticed it right away. And now I think he is making excuses about the exes etc. I mentioned a few threads ago that I can imagine it is very very hard dealing with Kristina constant crying he must jave to walk on eggshells.
I don't think Kierien is Gay is think the likely iasue is the high emotions and intensity of Kristina. I said myself I wouldn't be able to deal with that daily. It would get annoying and irritating the constant crying about everything.
She seems like a lovely lady but Kierien is not mature enough to deal with such a complex condition.

MixedCouple2 · 30/10/2024 01:44

No way I don't like Adam at all. Really unlikeable character seems immature and a typical Lad. Doesn't come across serious about marriage obvs on the show for exposure / fame and to get nore ladies. 0 sincerity with him.
The only good quality is he doesn't fly off the handle and seems to keep his cool much better then the others.

MixedCouple2 · 30/10/2024 01:52

Oh does anyone have any more infor on the Ryan and Sionnion situ (yes I spelt her name wrong) I keep seeing people say he physically assulted her - some mention biting! Does anyone know.

If that is the case he is 10000x worse then Alex.
Why else would they leave right away. Surely that would be against the rules as the leave / stay has to be done at each commitment ceremony.
Even Hannah and Stephen, Eve and Charlie, Orsen and witchy and Alex and Holly stayed for the correct process despite their relationships being more toxic and argumentative. So the fact they walked out and broke the rules means something very bad had happened. That's what I think anyway.

MixedCouple2 · 30/10/2024 02:18

Finally finished the episode tonight and seen the preview for tomorrow. Sasha & Lacey are such stirrers and mouthing off yet again! OMG she is so miserable.
Wow what a cliff hanger as usual.

I'm so confused. Not to be bitchy but he lives in a caravan. A really nice caravan but I'm not sure that's found to attract someone with a 25 year plan. And literally noone has a 25 year plan. Keiran is turning into a bore. Nest he's going to start talking about having a dream kitchen

Remember the song from the 80s "Dream Kitchen"?
It went "your life is too good to be true. I think I'll ruin it for yooooooouuu"

workstealssleep · 30/10/2024 06:53

The experts also did a terrible thing to Kristina, telling Kieron to list things about the relationship. Totally ruined things for her.
Kieron is just scared of commitment. He and Kristina are the only ones seriously considering actual marriage.
Sacha is too weird, highly strung.
Lacey is too fame hungry.
Polly and Adam are a joke.
As are Ken and Barbie.
I agree about the fillers etc adding years to their faces. I reckon Sacha and Amy would be really beautiful if you took it all away. Holly and her lips were terrifying.
So glad Alex is gone.

Exactly! I think all this nonsense about romance being flowers, candles, bath running etc. just highlights how young/immature some of them are. For me (very much middle aged) romance is more about being treated with respect and consideration, as an equal and with a deeper understanding of who someone actually is - it's in all the daily actions of a partner enhancing your life, not a single isolated generic romantic act which quite frankly is piss easy to do - like scattering rose petals all over the shop before serving up a bit of pasta with a jarred sauce chucked on it (I wonder if he cleaned up after himself too?).

This made me chuckle

@bumblenbean omg me too! Black jeans from TopShop with zips from the top to the bottom! I was 15! I shoulda kept them didn't realise they were back in fashion. But also o was a size 10 then now a size 16 😂

@RancidRuby lol I have to say at nearly 40 I still love it when my DH brings me flowers and does romantic gestures as well as day to day things. Nice to get a bit of everything.

I agree. He’s not gay.

But his boyfriend is.

I didn't say he was or wasn't gay. None of my business.

Why did some couples do a direct swap, and others were shuffled around? Purely for entertainment purposes?

Almost certainly to add to the drama. They always pick the swap which will cause the most angst and pain to someone. Poor old Polly with her deep insecurities and with - surely - the internal understanding that there will never be enough romance and underwear to make up for the lack of her love language from Adam.

i feel so sorry for both the Ks. Kieran is a bit broken by ‘the process’ and although he’s being harsh, I’m sure this is heavily promoted by the production team to be ‘true to himself’. And already fragile Kristina is left so confused. I hope this isn’t a spoiler to say she has been signposted to a new PMDD medication since MAFs started showing and is doing incredibly well on it.

Amy comes across as knowing exactly what she was doing with the flirting with Adam, knowing she’s his type and Polly isn’t, getting him to think of sex and do sex shop stuff with twinkles she knows he doesn’t have with Polly. If Polly were my friend (help!), and I were Any, I would never allow the friendship with Adam to broach any boundaries as I’d know it would hurt. I also agree with the poster who pointed out the way she used her princess treatment news to have a go at Gaston. It came across as rather sly. He has tried to treat her as an equal rather than a princess (I really hate that term. The treatment of princesses didn’t do Diana much good in her marriage.)

I agree. Made me cringe when Amy kept saying she was being treated like a princess 😫 because a man with an idiot haircut made her egg on toast.

dapsnotplimsolls · 30/10/2024 07:51

I think Amy wants revenge on Gaston for all the times he's embarrassed her.

I miss the bit when they left. Did they just vanish or did the experts give some sort of explanation?

wizzler · 30/10/2024 08:36

I'm predicting that sales of Soreen will increase dramatically today. Can anyone who works in food retail keep us updated ?

Twonewcats · 30/10/2024 08:42

Kieran is a twat. He was asked to list the good things about Kristina, which would highlight all the ways she was different from his ex.
But he turned that into pros and cons, and actually only focused on negatives.
The positive points then got turned into negatives - it was as if he was saying "Oh my ex was abusive, but she seemed lovely on the surface. Kristina is lovely ergo she must also be an abuser." Actually nuts.

I think my problem is and yes a bit bizarre on the username bit but malt loaf is the generic vegan item you find when you're starving at a petrol garage. So it gives me the sads a bit. I'm also probably not getting it as my Mum's Canadian. The first time I saw a trifle I thought someone had dropped their dessert and served it anyway

This is a bit outing but feck it!
When I was younger and we were living in the States, there was a bring a dish kind of party on the division where we lived. My DM thought she'd bring something very English so she made a trifle. She saw one of the other party goers dollop a huge spoonful of her trifle on the plate with the rest of his savoury food and has forever more been convinced that she was the inspiration for the sticky recipe page episode with Rachel in Friends when she made the shepherds pie/trifle combo! 😂
