It's a brilliant early Christmas present 😁Hopefully the cast signed on with the understanding there would be further episodes, they all seemed to really enjoy filming the first season. I wonder will the second season cover the remaining half of Rivals or will they dip into Polo? There's probably enough in the second half of the book for another season

Die hard Jilly fan here and lurker of this chat! I just had to come on and say I'm thinking that the second half may have already been filmed. I have listened to the pod cast and I'm sure there was some suggestion of it

Also something i saw on instagram asking the cast who the best dancer was and they said Aidan Turner as there is a big dance scene in the second part and he was brilliant! I'm hoping this is correct so we don't have to wait too long for the next bit!

I agree, I think they’ve already filmed it - what are the chances of getting David Tennant let alone all the rest in the same place at one time again? Can’t wait!

I think I read that Aidan Turner was an all Ireland Ballroom Champion. Can you imagine him on Strictly? Swoon!

I saw this! I finished rereading the book last night (having not read it in about 20 years). I think they will have to substantially change the story line to have enough for a whole series. But they have already introduced things like Sarah's pregnancy so it is doable.

I usually HATE adaptations of books I love, especially if they depart too much from the original but I absolutely loved, loved, loved season 1!

It makes no sense at all for them to have filmed series two. That would be a huge financial risk for one thing. If it’s made, why not just show it? And the shoot had a lot of press attention - filming double the number of episodes would have been obvious.

Well they've already confirmed the second series is being shown so not that unrealistic to think they may have prepared for that eventuality and filmed extra episodes? Presumably there would be more to come too as there are a lot of different characters introduced in Polo.

It is unrealistic because if it’s not commissioned, there is no money to make it. That’s how it works. This stuff costs a lot of money to make. It’s not a risk any production company would take.

Just seen that they’ve cast Rupert Everett and Hayley Atwell for the second season trying to figure out who they might be playing?

I also read that Emily Atack’s real life mum is going to be in it but I can’t work out who she’d be.
