FFS! Husband does not understand Answer Smash on House of Games and it drives me mad!

Christ alive! Tonight he's shouted out "Bananarama!" and "Woodstock"! with no concept of adding in the extra part to make the correct answer. Night after night he does it and cannot work out why his answers are wrong. We have it on all the time, and he still cannot seem to grasp the idea of it. Drives me mental!

Richard is sometimes quite mean to his male guests. Henning the other week and he's been rude to Anthony Costa (who is surprisingly lovely) this week.

I love Where Is Kazakhstan and hate Distinctly Average and Question Writers' Day Off. My worst contestants were Linda Robson, H from Steps and Patsy Kensit. I can't choose a favourite because I usually end up liking them all much more than I expected!

The only time DH does that is when he stopped listening because his phone distracted him. I can't fathom someone who clearly doesn't get it but keeps on watching! Does he only like general knowledge quizzes, really, so he just answers that part?

I tried to introduce Answersmash in a work quiz. No one, not one single highly trained professional, grasped the concept.

But it's funny how all the phones appear when it's time for the 'hit the button when the lyrics start' round comes on. Almost as if people are eating with their phones on their laps.

I noticed that too. Last week he was picking on the Aussie comedian. I assume he knows them somewhat and knows they can take it, but some of it has made me a bit uncomfortable.

I hate Password123 because I don't care about celebrities. And Distinctly Average because it usually has to be a complete guess, no skill involved.

I'm unexpectedly liking Antony Costa too, he's so chuffed to be winning! I hadn't noticed Richard being mean to him.

There's been a 'comedian', Tim Keys, on a couple of times who was really nasty, I thought, to Jamie Lang. Most contestants seem to love being on it though, and get into the spirit. Linda Robson was a bit like Esme from Sewing Bee, no clue about anything.

I live with one of these, it drives me mad. However he's really good at the backwards music, and I just can't do that to save my life.

Me too. There are ways to estimate some of them to at least sense check, but others are pure guesswork.

Tim Key was one of my favourite guests! He was 100% not really being nasty to Jamie Laing, it's his humour.

I detest Distinctly Average because I've no idea of the answers and I do not give a shit. Who cares how many telephone pylons there are in the UK!

I like the round where you guess the song from 1,2 or 3 seconds of it. I suppose we all like the rounds we're good at 😂

Jamie definitely took it in good humour. It was an odd dynamic but quite watchable!

Anthony Costa is lovely 😍 No interest in his music but he seems lovely and also very cute. Feeling sorry for Kelle this week as she has dyslexia and can't manage the very wordy questions. dH does not have that excuse.

Love HOG. I really liked Henning the other week. My favourite round is the one where they change the lyrics of songs to similar words (can't for the life of me explain better!). I have an amazing talent for it, if I do say so myself . DH is amazing at backwards music. We record and fast forward Distinctly average. I'd watch an hour of answer smash. I don't understand at all how people don't get the answer smash bit. --

Anyone see it when it was Chris (who's on SCD) was on. Obviously he's blind so they did answer smash differently which was even more enjoyable.

We love Highbrow Lowbrow, and award ourselves an extra point if we can predict what the low brow question will be accurately. One day we aspire to a clear sweep of 24 points.

We love Distinctly Average because there's normally a way of working it out on the back of an envelope, and it's funny to see the celebrities getting it catastrophically wrong.

Password 123 is dull and the Opposites round used to wind me up chronically because "I'd end up yelling "In what world is Cow the opposite of Sheep!" at the telly.

I was coming here to post about the Rest is Entertainment podcast today but can see someone beat me to it, honestly for everyone frustrated with people not understanding the rules you have to listen to Richard explaining that same thing from his point of view

Henning Wehn was a thoroughly enjoyable guest - and very gracious. He's a very intelligent man and obviously fluent in English, but it's always going to put you at a disadvantage when it's all in your second language and many of the questions are framed around British culture/experience.

I always used to think similar with Going For Gold, though, all those years ago. As if it wasn't enough that the British and Irish contestants had a very big advantage, what with all the questions being in English, they also split up the UK home nations, so that there may have been nine contestants in total - and four of them were us!

Which contestant was it that made no effort at all, just sat back without her finger on the buzzer? Was it Patsy Kensit? I think Esme gave up too but she seemed bewildered rather than arrogant.

The worst one ever for me was the American drag king with the awful cartoon voice. It's the only time I've ever turned off HoG and left it till the next week.
