The season concluded (www.digitalspy.com/tv/a39893021/di-ray-ending-explained-imran-killer/) with Rach uncovering who was behind the murder of Imran Aziz, before being suspended by the chief of police pending further investigation.
DI Ray was renewed for a second season (www.digitalspy.com/tv/a42070054/itv-confirms-di-ray-future-parminder-nagra/) in November 2022, with Nagra sharing in a statement at the time: "How lovely to have got the response that we did for series one.
"Thanks to our audience and to ITV and our amazing

Season two will pick up two months after Rach's suspension, with the detective finding herself thrust back into homicide after a fatal drive-by shooting kills Frank Chapman, the head of a notorious local crime syndicate.
The offical synopsis continues: "DI Ray is in a race against time to uncover the truth before the Chapman family act out their revenge and an all-out gang war erupts onto the streets."
