I wonder if she feels safer raising issues with the cameras there. She did ask him for a private chat away from the rest of the dinner party, but that wasn’t good enough for him.
I find there is something quite scary about him - but realise that I have a bias due to the abuse allegations. I would not want to be Holly trying to negotiate a difficult conversation with him alone.

Hollietree · 11/10/2024 16:57

We need Ryan to pull up in his bin truck at the commitment ceremony and throw the following people in the back of the truck….. Straight to the dump for you.

Oneandahalfonagoodday · 11/10/2024 17:06

I thought Holly had really altered the way she spoke to Alex last night and still he spoke really shittily back to her. I really hope she's not still with him. He is an Arse with a capital A.

Tittat50 · 11/10/2024 17:12

If cameras weren't watching, Alex would give Holly the death stare for the entirety of the dinner party.

He doesn't want her exposing things he's said and done on camera which is probably what he means. There's a problem with self regulation there for sure. Whether that goes beyond angry tantrums and death stares and translates into throwing things; no one knows.

I didn't know about the stick or twist. That sounds interesting.

Moremustard · 11/10/2024 18:14

He doesn't like opening up on camera, understandable, but that's what he's signed up for. He doesn't get to dictate what gets shown because he's been paid a fee to take part (like all of them)

This is the best idea ever. Maybe combined with stick or twist. If they twist then Ryan sweeps in with a giant inflatable bin lorry and they disappear with no goodbye

Oh god rewatching some of what I missed. Didn't need to hear that much from Pervy Polly.

I’ve just seen it on an advert @JaneJeffer

Looks like they are sitting around chatting about who they’d like ‘if’…

If that is a task rather than a general shitey chat, then they are daft to play along.

It is like a ramped up photo ranking caper.

Ah right, didn't they do this at the retreat/getaway last time and it all kicked off between the incomer scottish lass and the gobshite - was her name Tasha?

Yes, I have a vague memory of that. It won't go well.

SilentSheldon · 11/10/2024 22:03

It could well have done tits

But when she raised her voice above hoover level, I used to go and make a brew.

It usually got a bit intense…

I wonder if they've brought this swap idea in as half the couples are shite?

I caught up tonight after all manner of shit with my internet connection. I was looking forward to watching live with you all last night when my connection just disappeared. I waited a while and thought it would be fine but it wasn't. N.b. I have no aerial so watch live TV via my fire stick. I thought "Fine, I'll just catch up tomorrow afternoon." I could not because my internet was still buggered. It finally came back to life at around 8pm. On the plus side I had plenty of time to get into my latest book, so sometimes it's good to be taken away from the internet.

MouseMinge · 11/10/2024 22:50

Anyway! My takes.

Polly. I do not want to hear about her doing sex with Shitlids. I don't want to hear about anyone's sex lives other than "yep, it's all good". I hate that she seems to think this means that everything in the world is great because they bump uglies. But, as I said yesterday, I should feel sorry for her because that was me in my twenties. I wasn't, however, a shit stirring bitch.

Her jealousy, just upon hearing a vague description of a new wife. Please. Holly was similar later on and I wonder how on earth they think they'll be able to maintain a relationship with their two boobie prize husbands outside of this experiment if their self-esteem is so low. It's painful to watch and makes it very difficult to like them. I also think that in some ways Polly is a walking red flag. When she told shitlids he should look out, after hearing about Hannah, I thought it was pathetic. She talks to him like he's a dog or a toddler quite a lot and I think she's just a gloriously ugly mixture of low self-esteem and controlling nightmare.

Stephen and Hannah. I'm not on the same page as a lot of you. I don't think Hannah is necessarily a lovely person in a bit of disguise but neither do I think she's as bad as Stephen would like us to believe she is. Yes, she said she could say what he told her off camera on camera but that was after he'd brought up stuff that had gone on between them off camera when, we are told, they had agreed not to do that. She hasn't said what he told her and I'm not at all convinced she wants to/will. He mentions it all the time and there's something about him that I really don't trust. She is a bit of a nightmare but it's all out there in the open for us to see. I'm not convinced that we're seeing all of 4kids and I think some of what we're not seeing is not very pleasant. I guess part of it is I don't really trust someone who is all about their children and then fucks off for however long the experiment lasts which I assume is at least a couple of months. I could be wrong about Hannah being less of a nightmare and if so, fair play but for now I'm giving her the benefit of the doubt. Maybe like Shitlids I have something for petite brunettes because I was the same with Charlie. Maybe I need to talk to my therapist about this!

Why did Sacha really go home? She looked right as rain when they arrived. Was she worried about Amy? Am I a total beeyatch and she really wasn't feeling very well? Not particularly bothered because it meant I didn't have to look at Ross who I cannot warm to.

MouseMinge · 11/10/2024 23:10

When they were all having a teeny tiny for the cameras meltdown about three new couples I sort of understood it. They're all in a bubble, they're just getting to know each other and feel like a group then, BAM! That said,it's not like they don't know it will happen because they will have seen the show before but even then I guess the reality can be more of a headfuck than we might not think. For once I didn't just immediately think "Oh get over yourselves" toward the cavalcade of clowns*.

Gaston likes saying "My wife, Amy" a lot. I'm glad they're getting on well but he is a bit much.

I am definitely feeling sorry for Caspar now. It's not that Emma refuses to change, because none of us should have to "change" for someone else, but that she refuses to put any work into their relationship at all. She thinks their problems are all him and they're not. For his sake, for her sake, for the sake of all of us who don't want deja vu every dinner party and commitment ceremony, they really should just fuck off and go home. Emma can't move on from their honeymoon and although he's tried - not much but a little - they are never going to even snog let alone below the waist stuff. Her talking about him as though he wasn't there was so fucking rude and ultimately she is just so fucking rude.

Holly and Alex. He is a total dick but, but, but. I think that maybe she does use the cameras for attention and I would find that annoying. He, however, is a bit of a creepy, manipulative shit. He shuts her down a lot and I agree with the experts about his non-verbal language. It's quite threatening and I would find that off-putting/scary. I also find it scary that he's the only man she's been dated who's been nice to her, who is a gentleman. That's just horrible because he is very far from a gentleman. I don't think either 'Olly should be on the show. They're both lacking in any self-esteem, see sex as validation and creating drama as a way to get attention.

What in the name of fashion disasters was going on with whatever it was that Lacey was wearing. Good grief that was awful.

I didn't think I'd like Shannon, but she seems like a decent sort and her and it's nice to see her and Ryan getting on.

*I was going to use a rude c-word but decided to not be that c-word myself by doing that!

"For those of you old enough to remember, Luke reminds me of Pepe Le Pew." Yes, so true.

JaneJeffer

"I was thinking last night what it would be like if someone you knew went on there and you were asked to take part as their friend or family member."

I think I would kind of like it, I would be super nice about the person. I would not be the friend who drops poison in he bride or groom's ear!

I think they give them too much booze at the dinner parties. It’s not great, drinking glass after glass of wine.

Timeforaglassofwine · 12/10/2024 07:29

Just caught up with the thread. I'm at the stage now where I'm turning in to stare at Gaston Luke as much as the drama. I know everyone finds him cheesy, but I'm old enough to be Luke's mum and appreciate a gentleman.
Emma's fella isn't enough for her, he sits like a bored slumped sack of spuds.

I've read that the dinner parties start at 11 a.m and go on for hours and hours. The drinking is limited by the production team. If someone is getting too drunk they remove the alcohol.

There was some very interesting info about Stephen on TikTok last night! Confused
