I honestly think the outfit choices are the least of their problems so far.
I would like to question why they wear what they do to the dinner parties? Is it a requirement of the show? Are they dressed by stylists? None of them in any series tend to wear what I would call normal dinner wear. I've only watched uk, are others the same?

I thought Holly / Polly (the red haired one) looked amazing in her bikini! Lovely body imo. Some horrible comments on here about weight.

I agree.. ice skater isn’t huge like some are making out on here but she doesn’t have shape, and that dazzling crap she was wearing did her no favours. I can’t remember her name but it was a few years back on the AUS one and she was chunky but boy did she have shape, she looked absolutely amazing.

I also thought Polly looked good in her bikini.. now should she have worn that dress at the DP, I personally don’t think it suited her but not because of size but shape..

Spinderellaseverywhere · 26/09/2024 09:25

The comments about weight are disgusting and just as bad as the horrible men on the show to be honest.

TitsInAbsentia · 26/09/2024 09:26

Well that's me late for work because I couldn't stop reading the acorn shit lid poetic offerings 🤣 you lot are definitely bringing the entertainment that the show is lacking..

I did think there was a lot more alcohol than perhaps usual...so they must have needed to create drama and dropped crates of cheap prosecco on them. I noticed the usual opaque drinking glasses weren't present so they probably had to keep them topped up!

Unpopular opinion, but I don't think that Casper is the devil that he is being portrayed as.

Agree although he's an intelligent enough man to know he should never have made it about Emma's weight even if pushed for a 'real reason' as that wasn't the real issue. Too contentious and the real issue was that he doesn't wish to shag his sister. Fine by me. He's handling it badly with these morose faces but I think he's just regretting being there and Emma's seems good person but I can imagine the forced head girl-ness (as coping mechanism for a weird situation) and being told you WILL give it a try etc is utterly draining.

I still feel there's a lot we didn't see re Eve and Charlie and id assume it's one of the most edited pairings so judgement still reserved but going purely on what we have seen, Eve has quite neatly made this all Charlie's fault, talking about Charlie changing (although I would assume she said similar about herself too, not even sure why i still watch this). I think just a poor match.

Nathan has flashes of brilliance. Asking Adam the Acorn (love this!) whether he was superficial was a master stroke! 'er... No'. Hope Lacey isn't swayed by being unequivocally someone's ideal with no sisterly involvement. His eyes lit up like two pervy little barber's signs when she sat next to him. That wasn't just editing.

I thought Polly's dress was rather cheap and cheerful but she carried the style off well, same as her bikini. She has a good figure, just not a small build. I really hope she ducks out early as this is embarrassing now but get the impression she likes her place at the table and on the TV.

Orson is a shit stirrer. She is far from perfect but I think I see where Richelle was coming from. Did anyone see whether she was on the clip for the next episode?

I don't like Holly. Whether Alex is a saint or not, I don't like this kicking off and then blaming it on past trauma every time. It's very easy to do and absolves one of a lot of responsibility. Also bringing her children into it. She decided to come onto the programme with kids, she needs to make a clear eyed appraisal about the relationship 's suitability, not dangle them over as an incentive or threat.

KK, Sacha and Ross all cute.

Who would I pick? Ross. He seems great fun and kind.

It’s not about the weight. Women can look fabulous at any weight and both those women looked wonderful on their wedding days because they were wearing clothes that suited their shape. Alison Hammond is a prime example of a woman who looks amazing because she’s always dressed to perfection. The comments were about the shocking way they were dressed by allegedly professional stylists drawing the eye to all the least attractive parts of their bodies. They didn’t do it to Emma, I wonder if she pushed back?

Nogaxeh · 26/09/2024 09:34

joolsella · 26/09/2024 08:20

Im obviously old fashioned but I think women look more sexy if their tits and fanjo is covered

I'd agree. A bit of a hint goes a very long way.

wildlygreen · 26/09/2024 09:34

Now that I think of it, I'm not sure if they have much say about anything that they wear; who knows if they picked their own wedding dresses? I can't imagine Richelle picking her one IRL.

Agree - I did think he might see her in her bikini and realise he did indeed fancy her. Instead he just moaned about the shit massage!

I wondered if he felt awkward about being on TV in his trunks himself, he doesn't have an 'unreal body' exactly and seems quite self conscious having all that fake tan and teeth stuff done.

There's a lot of competition, but I think that's one of the more unkind things that Adam has done to Polly. To be so disparaging about her massage efforts is the very epitome of tearing someone down instead of building them up.

There are eight couples, but at least four of them should walk tonight because continuing is much more likely to do them harm than good.

amprev · 26/09/2024 10:00

Holly is driving me insane with the accent thing and the giiiiirrrrrll language. She's like Tasha from last year.

Yumyi · 26/09/2024 10:00

Is anyone else finding the constant swearing ridiculous? I know a lot of people in mumsnet have no problem with swearing. But I think they look ridiculous with it being every second word. Maybe I am getting old

Monpetitchoumonpetitepois · 26/09/2024 10:13

There's quite a few who really should leave the process for their own wellbeing.
K, K, Sacha and Ross really are the only stable ones. I never thought I'd be saying that after the false teeth at the alter.
Emma and Casper, i agree with pp that she does seem to be faking a head girl type personality. He should have been honest but anyway they are where they are and I can't see them working.
Lacey and Nathan, he is ok and I never agreed with the "thick" comments on here. It was quite spiteful. Lacey comes across as in it for the wrong reason and her edit last night was awful. She sat next to Adam on the sofa literally the second Polly told her she was insecure because Lacey was his type. She also couldn't wait to run and tell Polly that Adam labelled her a 4. She showed a lot of behaviour similar to her friends at her wedding but I know she gets a lot of love on this thread.
Polly and Adam, it's completely a non starter.
Michelle and Orson, as above.
Holly and Alex, as above.
Charlie and Eve, as above.
So that's 6 pointless pairings and I'm not sure I'm invested enough in the other 2 to continue watching

BluesBrotherz · 26/09/2024 10:17

The people on MAFSUK are just awful. It’s a classic case of intelligent, nice, attractive woman, meets British male shit show.

This show has actually reminded me of a few things. I’m in my 50’s now, but back when I was a teen to early 20’s I stopped dating British men. They are in general, pretty shit partners. My DH is not British. MAFSUK has just confirmed to me that they haven’t changed.

The women are nice, but the outfits are hideous and doing them no favours. Clearly Aussies are much better at getting down the gym and dressing better.

I’m’ not warming to Holly. One minute she’s crying because she’s hurt, the next she’s acting like she lives in a trailer. Alex is no saint, but TBH I feel sorry for him. He’s with someone who kicks off big time, and he’s expected to take on her 2DC. He shouldn’t be made to feel guilty if that’s not what he signed up for.

I’ll give it a few more episodes but TBH I might just wait for the next Aussie one. I miss Lucinda and Lauren.

Watching the Aus one, I was horrified one year at how cheap and tacky the girls clothing looked at the dinner parties. I felt sorry for them having to wear the clothes. Then I found out they were all wearing their own clothes that they'd chosen. Must have been fashionable that year in Aus.

No, you’re not getting old. To be fair by the time it became a fuckathon they were off their faces.

Are we watching the same show? Half of them are proper rough.

Nogaxeh · 26/09/2024 11:09

Obvs Keiran & Kristina and Sacha & Ross are currently looking the best. I've not completely given up hope for Nathan & Lacey, and there's also probably a chance for Richelle & Orson, depending on what comes up when they talk to the experts.

The problem for me as a viewer is that I find Kristina and Keiran really annoying. The only individuals who I'm rooting for because I like them personally are Emma and Orson. And Emma's so doomed with being the copy of Caspar's sister.

thenightsky · 26/09/2024 11:56

Why oh why didn’t Caspar just stick with the whole ‘reminds me of my sister’ thing as his explanation for not fancying Emma instead of saying anything about her size/shape? It’s would have saved both of them a lot of grief.
He’s no adonis himself and she is very pretty but I can see how she’d be too much for a lot of people. I find her grating.

I don't understand why Casper didn't just say she reminded him of his sister too. Its the obvious way of getting out of the situation without hurting her. I suspect he was pushed and pushed and edited to look awful.

Waitingfordoggo · 26/09/2024 12:04

Wonder if Polly or Emma could be a decent match for Orson. As they are both paired with men who have no interest in them and Orson appears to have been left to go it solo. It would be quite satisfying if either one hit it off with Orson and left Caspar/Adam to be the spare wheel.

It is a lot this year.. I don’t mind swearing but not every other word. Holly and Polly are the worst offenders

Oneandahalfonagoodday · 26/09/2024 13:52

Wow Nathan! You don't say much but then hit the nail well & truly on the head with just one comment! Can't wait for more Nathan home truths to come out 😂

I think KK are really sweet together and do seem to be well matched. I was a bit worried when someone posted the link about Kieran and the sapling at Sycamore Gap that he was going to be all about the SM likes but he does seem to be a genuinely nice guy. (So far!)

Sacha has surprised me; think she is very sweet with Ross and thought she looked much better on honeymoon without all the face paint.

We need an AMA from a former contestant!

I can see Polly working! They both have a million interests, performing etc

Oneandahalfonagoodday · 26/09/2024 14:25

Don't like Orson and his toilet brush beard. Think he's a bit of a Stone Age misogynist too. His conversations with Alex just seemed to be egging each other on with their AT inspired thoughts on how women should behave. 😡
