Thought I'd start one as it's all on the I player.
The ' cyber speak' tech stuff is hard to get your head around at times.
I'm on episode two so far.

Do not post any spoilers on blonds thread ..

Just started the first one, already have a question - what have they planted in the bottom of the train carriage?! And is the driver dead?
Okay that was 2 questions…

the80sweregreat · 21/09/2024 19:58

Can't remember what happened to the driver tbh ? The device is some kind of control one that drives the train and they are not sure who plants it.

TheChosenTwo · 21/09/2024 21:37

thanks, on the second episode now, the driver was fine!
The acting from the Welsh lady who is supposedly in charge is woeful, she’s coming across as being really mumsy and a bit wet for someone who has a supposedly senior role, it’s the least realistic acting I’ve ever seen 😂 she doesn’t seem remotely as stressed as she ought to be!!
but I’m sort of enjoying the premise of the story so will see how I feel at the end of this.

CherieBabySpliffUp · 22/09/2024 09:32

I don't think the writers were familiar with the laws of physics at all! 🙄I had my suspicions about Jas from a couple of episodes in but the real baddie reveal was a surprise.

Cattyisbatty · 22/09/2024 09:59

Just finished it. Watched with dh as he’s been out a lot and I told him he didn’t miss much!
Agree with everyone else on here, plus the Mouse boy was so composed - my kids at that age would’ve been doing their nut!
Thought Tobi was dodgy as well, but not Pev. He was I suppose proving a point, but still a psychotic way of showing it. You can never account for human ‘error’ - would he have stopped the train at Victoria or let it ram in to the station?
Abby was v irritating as well, but I liked Joe.

TheChosenTwo · 22/09/2024 10:00

Is Pev the real driver? He seems like he has a serious axe to grind. I’m nearly finished episode 3.

Sweetpeasaremadeforbees · 22/09/2024 15:37

I think he was a complete psychopath. He'd supposedly known her since she was a kid and then supported her since then but just shrugged and left when she said she was staying in the building to somehow stop the train in London.

Her reaction to finding out about him seemed odd as well (to me). She seemed angry but not particularly devastated, but then the end did seem a bit abrupt. I suppose that was because of the real time premise.

IPartridge · 22/09/2024 21:59

I can't believe I watched all of it 😆

A lot of it was like a spoof. The boss in the pink dress randomly appearing on different levels and barking orders then disappearing for a while.

The reveal of the old guy on the laptop in the last episode made me laugh.

So many characters with 1 syllable names. I never did work out who the man on the screen was and how he appeared so quickly. It was a bit wizard of Oz.

the80sweregreat · 23/09/2024 07:20

The man on the screen ( who did show up to interrogate Abi ) was a bit of an enigma and didn't even question how Abi got out of that room did he! He kind of accepted that she did. No sign of the PM either , unusual in these type of dramas.
I had Tobes down as the baddie all along as well, so was surprised at the ending.

Finished it last night. So bad it’s great 😂

juliwhats · 23/09/2024 07:42

It was like a parody of a Jed Mercurio programme.
Absolute tosh, but enjoyed it all the same.

TheChosenTwo · 23/09/2024 07:56

I finished it last night, it was farcical.
Cyber security HQ are relying on abi’s friend standing at the station and sending through the updates that are appearing on the screens - they clear the station before the train is due to make impact yet she’s allowed to stay in there alone with her suitcases. No one is allowed to enter yet Abi runs in with no repercussions and then Pev wanders in a bit later.
So many 🤯 moments which make no sense but it was all quite watchable.

MrsLargeEmbodied · 23/09/2024 08:13

i agree so bad its good,
disaster movie kind of thing
didnt trust Yas
or Billy for a while

lady in the pink dress just appalling.
so relieved there was no hugging at the end
it was an enjoyable watch with a crazy ending

Just started episode 6, wasn’t planning on staying up this late.

It’s very cliched and is trying to be a lot of different genres all at once. And it’s so cheesy.

I used to work in the rail industry and there’s a lot of suspending my disbelief

I've never worked in the rail industry and I had to suspend my disbelief too.

Really enjoyed it though.

IPartridge · 23/09/2024 09:26

Also how were they so confident that the old bloke would have the tech skills to operate the train from a laptop? (Although I was impressed by his ability to look out of the train window in the dark and identify where they were)

And why didn't someone else have a go when he pegged it? They could have slid it out from underneath him.

MrsLargeEmbodied · 23/09/2024 09:31

he smash the screen when he fell

IPartridge · 23/09/2024 09:37

MrsLargeEmbodied · 23/09/2024 09:31

he smash the screen when he fell

Ah thank you. I must have missed that bit

the80sweregreat · 23/09/2024 11:01

I loved how Joe put out the fire with two small extinguishers and yet the train kept on running !

OP posts:
MrsLargeEmbodied · 23/09/2024 11:44

i loved it when he said We will Take it from Here! i laughed

the80sweregreat · 23/09/2024 12:53

I can't get over the watch and mouse and how solemn he was handing it back to him.
Out of all the unbelievable things that went on, that was one of the worst! 😆

OP posts:
the80sweregreat · 23/09/2024 13:22

Maybe Abby will visit Joe in prison!..
I said to dh that Pav was Abby's dad ( especially when he said
I've known her since she was a little girl ' ) but I was wrong.
(Also when she told Joe about how her dad likened their situation of losing their mum to how a computer worked etc )
Would have been a bit more of a twist there.
Her friend stood with her case for hours. I think most would have gone home , plus they also got the messages through or should have done anyway , especially for the ransom bitcoin money!
That didn't ring true she was allowed to hang about like that. The place would have been evacuated early doors irl

OP posts:
IPartridge · 23/09/2024 18:47

Another question I have - when their phones started working again, how did Joe instantly get through to Abby? And how did the little boy call his mum?
Basically how did they know the numbers?

And when Abby and Joe met how did he know who she was, before she spoke? And none of the others questioned who she was when she got on the train.

WatchOutMissMarpleIsAbout · 23/09/2024 19:30

Just finished it. So so many plot holes. Still loved it. I knew would be Toby or Saj. I still suspected Saj to the end. Come to think of it should have suspected Pev. Midsomer rules. Biggest actor = biggest villain/murderer.

the80sweregreat · 23/09/2024 19:42

I was kicking myself that I didn't even think Pav could be the mole , but it made so much sense
However , if Abby hadn't insisted on calling him etc would he have just rocked up anyway ? He needed to be there in order to get the network back up. He was banking on her getting her own way.
