Nice new thread for when the old one wears out.

Boylesque was somewhat cringe but somewhat funny... Karl and his backside though 😬

PayYourselfFirst · 22/10/2024 19:09

Oh god Nell and her neighing in the middle of words!
Haaaayayate ( hate)
Neyeverrrrr ( never)

Ķeep her in Colac !
Boylesque was awful

suburburban · 22/10/2024 19:46

Mind you Colac sounds like colic so maybe the horse them is appropriate

The dance scenes at the waterhole were a bit icky with Byron especially with your mum there

Smidge001 · 22/10/2024 23:25

Boylesque was awful. Omg. Totally awful! It was just so wrong - Jane and Nicolette there, watching Byron. Holly watching her Dad, Sadie watching hers - oh it was just horrendous.
I mean the show was bad, but fair enough it was cringeworthy in true neighbours fashion, but couldn't they have found non family members to be in the audience? Grin

TomBradysLeftKneecap · 23/10/2024 04:36

Haha! It was awful but hilarious. Jane getting handcuffed by one of her best friends husbands. The same best friend who has left him to go have a baby see her parents. 😂😂😂.

What puzzled me was that the only lesbian in the room was cheering on the male strippers as salaciously as if she were interested in men. Or am I stereotyping lesbians?

EBearhug · 23/10/2024 09:35

The only lesbian? Remi and Nicolette were there.

Oh, completely forgot about Nicolette, was thinking of her as Byron's sister, if you see what I mean! I thought Remi only arrived after the show was over, though?

It was Cara that arrived after the show had finished, she was randomly saving Felix's job.

I don’t know why she wouldn’t be cheering them on and goading it? If a straight man was there doing it you would think it was just banter/support so not sure why this needs to be any different.

No, I wouldn't, but then I find myself leading an extremely sheltered life these days so I think I'm best keeping my mouth shut. I fast forwarded through most of that episode as I found the Boylesque as distasteful and degrading as if it had been women stripping for men so I'm obviously not the right person to judge. Good grief, I've turned into whatsherface who was leading the protest with Hilary.
You're right, of course, @Starburst8, I meant Cara but momentarily forgot her name. I think senility has definitely set in, best not post any more, at least for today.

No judgement here. We all have our boundaries! I think with these things it’s more about the silliness of it than being aroused in any way. I’m not sure if anyone would have actually found it sexy, just cringe! I don’t blame you for skipping it. No plot essential moments there other than Aaron being a bit avoidant of the new love interest.

CandyRaining · 23/10/2024 16:53

The whole thing was so silly, they were doing it to raise money for charity by selling tickets but there were about ten people there, all family members of the people on stage and all living in the same street. They would have made hardly anything. I know neighbours isn’t known for being realistic but come on! They could have filled it out a bit, added some extras.

Walkingtheplank · 24/10/2024 09:10

I couldn't bear to watch it so fast forwarded. It was giving off Kate with her hat vibes!

Poor Felix. Always seems to get the blame.

Didn't sound like that psychological assessment was too far off.

MiddleClassProblem · 28/10/2024 19:01

Yes but now he is going to be seen as her next wrong romantic choice when they are just friends. That dude really needs a bed too.

Vic and Mel have much more chemistry that Vic and dickhead Jane. I feel like this isn’t over or at least is shouldn’t be!

Terese doesn’t feel like Terese at the moment acting wise, a bit like Toadie didn’t feel like Toadie. We’ve seen her off the wagon before and this doesn’t fit how she would act for me. Her upset about the trees was giving melodramatic teen rather than stern bad bitch.

Smidge001 · 28/10/2024 19:03

Oh blimey. I can see why they had to make a story out of Therese getting landscapers in. That poor house! It looked so much nicer before. I'm really unimpressed with what the (real) owners have done. I hate the dark grey balcony, and the stupid wall thing with the small firs in looks ridiculous IMHO. Totally just plonked there in front of the house, doesn't really work with the curved shape and slope of the driveway.

Liked it way better before. Harrumph.

suburburban · 28/10/2024 21:04

Yes poor house

Shouldn't Holly be wearing safety shoes not high heels in the Tram😀

I agree (about both Vic and Jane and Terese). I hate that they’ve changed Terese’s wardrobe as well. The heels and sharp dressing was her thing, it doesn’t feel like her when she’s running about in flat white trainers and a leather jacket.

Rummikub · 29/10/2024 16:13

ive not caught up. I’m up to the stilt walking. Very weird.

how is Mel vic’s auntie?!

EBearhug · 29/10/2024 16:37

how is Mel vic’s auntie?!

Mrs Mangel's two children were Amanda/Andreas (can't remember her name) and Joe. The first was Jane's mother. Mel was married to Joe at one point, making her Jane's aunt because of being married to Jane's uncle, and thus aunt to any spouses of Jane...

It's tenuous, but pretty much everyone in Ramsey Street is linked through these sorts of past liaisons.

Rummikub · 29/10/2024 16:42

Ah amazing thank you! @EBearhug

TomBradysLeftKneecap · 29/10/2024 23:32

I'm kind of liking this version of Felix. I love that he dropped, "I'll be your sperm donor" into the conversation as if he was suggesting he'd just drop off a jacket or something.

MiddleClassProblem · 29/10/2024 23:36

I feel like Felix is becoming the local oracle
