Bake off 2024 ... when will there be buns in the oven?

can we expect the same presenting/ judging line up as last year?
Do we think the Hollywood handshake will return?
And please god no tacky theme weeks

Can't see the point in illusion cakes, I hate fondant

Presumably the illusion cake is because Bake Off is on Netflix in the US and they have those stupid 'Is It Cake?' type shows

They seem like quite a down to earth and normal bunch this year. No-one obviously glamorous / Instagram chasing at all.

Feels like a cop out if no-one goes home but I guess it would be unfair if someone did.

The first two challenges are the same as this year's Great American Baking Show, which was filmed over here with the same judges. I wonder if they'll recycle other challenges from there.

They should have to bring the thing or at least a picture. The Egyptian thing is not something specific

They did illusion cakes before, there was the brilliant watermelon.

They've done a few illusion cakes. Not sure it's particularly for the US audience.

Illusion cakes are all about the creativity and not about the taste.

Ilyin (sorry for the spelling!), Georgie and possible Dylan are my favourites so far I think.. not terribly keen on Mr neckerchief on first impressions but don't think he'll last long
