Any news yet on when the new series is due to start?
can we expect the same presenting/ judging line up as last year?
Do we think the Hollywood handshake will return?
And please god no tacky theme weeks

I believe they have changed the format and "procedure"of the signature bake - no longer having a recipe but seeing a visual representation of the desired bake prior to attempting to bake it apparently.

I saw something about this and it sounds interesting. It wasn't clear if it would be the same in every show or just the first one.

Sounds like a very gentle attempt to MasterChef it a bit. The Guardian had a dig today about it having run it's course (though I'll be surprised if they don't run the bake off blog this year, they are quite happy to get bake off clicks with both positive and negative articles) and perhaps we're due a little gentle tweak to the format.

Readybto settle down again. No cake here unfortunately. I enjoyed last year with challenges that were realistic.

Still really frustrated at bakers trying to temper chocolate or make ice cream in hot weather. I don’t find it exciting, prefer to see bakers able to do their best work. Hope that changes. Also each need plenty of fridge or freezer space.

Realistic times to get the bakes right would be marvellous too, there would still be drama

BarbiesBuns · 24/09/2024 20:01

Here we go!

jay55 · 24/09/2024 20:02

Well it's a shame they haven't given up on the skits.

PrincessScarlett · 24/09/2024 20:03

Always the weird beginning bit. Thankfully it was short.

PrincessScarlett · 24/09/2024 20:04

Oooohhh loaf cake. Has to be banana bread for me

CrushingOnRubies · 24/09/2024 20:05

Hello

Love a loaf cake but they can be a bit dry. Think it would have to be sultana and cherry flavour cake for me

jay55 · 24/09/2024 20:08

I love a sticky ginger loaf cake but it wouldn't pass the two flavours or hidden stuff test

jay55 · 24/09/2024 20:10

Spectacularly early for a nonna reference.

bibliomania · 24/09/2024 20:20

Ah, getting the cosy vibes.

crumblingschools · 24/09/2024 20:23

Don’t often have to contend with the cold in the tent, it’s usually the heat

jay55 · 24/09/2024 20:24

It was a wet and cold summer, they could be sinking into mud by the end of the series.

Hobnobswantshernameback · 24/09/2024 20:25

It's like a game of bake off bingo withe various contestants 😂😂

Funny to see them huddled into coats.

LemongrassLollipop · 24/09/2024 20:26

They're all in winter coats!

PrincessScarlett · 24/09/2024 20:27

Andy looks like he's wearing 3 jumpers!

eddiemairswife · 24/09/2024 20:28

Do they choose the bakers for their irritability quotient?

LemongrassLollipop · 24/09/2024 20:28

Georgie to go home.
Precision is everything in baking!

jay55 · 24/09/2024 20:29

Real mixed bag of bakes.

PrincessScarlett · 24/09/2024 20:31

I don't remember the summer being that cold to warrant wearing a coat when baking and using ovens 🤷🏻‍♀️

BarbiesBuns · 24/09/2024 20:31

Oh God that cinnamon loaf looks delish

CrushingOnRubies · 24/09/2024 20:32

It's normally boiling in the that tent I thought. Why were they all in puffa jackets

Which one was Jeff?

PrincessScarlett · 24/09/2024 20:32

One already missing due to illness... perhaps he's got frostbite?!

Hobnobswantshernameback · 24/09/2024 20:33

Oh good lord
thats tricky
