UK pace please, no spoilers please!

Looking forward to this one with the new judges. Surprised at how late we're getting it in the UK though.

i do miss Jock plating them lovely little plates of food, now they just pile into the same plate of food.

i know the stopped the same plate thing during Covid, no need to bring it back

On the episode where eliminated contestants cooked to come back, did anyone else look at anyone and not remember them? There was a man (James) with the green shirt on who I don't remember at all!

I didn't remember green shirt bloke. And a couple of others. I'm almost up-to-date, just watching Dickhead Stein.
That lacy trouser outfit they put the woman who is not Po in was horrific!

I liked it when you saw more of the contestants relaxing in the house they shared and wondering which one was coming home after the elimination.
And I liked the updates they did when someone was sent home.

Yea green shirt man was someone I’d never seem before until he was all over the show when he was eliminated

@SwankyPants what do you see about them relaxing?? All we see in the UK is 5 episodes a week in the kitchen. I'd much rather see the relaxing episodes

It was the older series. I'm in the UK too. Now I can hardly remember anyone's name 😂

I loved it when they showed us the house and them all waiting to see who came out of the lift

You were able to find a favourite and get invested in the contestants weren't you.

Yes, much more. The contestants were much more recognisable and it was fun and interesting

Just found the thread. I'm only on ep 11. As only just discovered it was on the other day as my sky box wasn't working so I had no tv guide etc.

I'm still not sure on the judges. But still early days. I still hate the pressure tests. So boring.

Anyone else think that Juan looks like a wish version of Joel Domment?

Did anyone clock the team challenge when Juan had what looked like the most terrible hives all over his face? Poor guy 😥

Also without looking it up, I genuinely can't recall what Not Poh's name actually is. That's how much of a non impression she's made on me... don't dislike her at all, just meh.

I'm not missing shouty Mel at all. And Poh is much less excitable than I thought she'd be, so that's a pleasant surprise. I like JCN too. He is a good addition. I'm glad they didn't go for a replica replacement for Jock (who is sadly missed). I also don't think it needs the 4th judge. All the judging just takes too long with all of them, and they all have to give their critique for every dish, it seems.

Pressure tests are DULL. And they should really test them blind, to make it fair. But overall I think the format is just a million times better than all the UK versions.

Ditto. I think that many judges is too many, 3 is perfect.
The reason MC Oz is a different ball game to MC UK is because of the money spent on it. Big cash prize, sponsored clothes for judges, sponsored (ugly) shoes for contestants, advertising advertising advertising. Ours get nothing but a trophy and a glass of Prosecco. I like them both. Oz is more entertainment based and the UK one is more pure.

I've caught up now. But no one really stands out for me. By this point I'll have a favourite. This season, I don't really have one.
