Hopefully this thread will see some closure to the unpleasantness in the form of findings; as well as the build up to the beginning.

There also aren't any obvious candidates for a same-sex pairing in that list.

The Sun's line-up also seems ...... a bit middle-aged.

Also, what would be the point of bringing Aljaz back if you were only going to have six female celebs?

I really hope Sarah Hadland is true! I love her in Horrible Histories.

The Sun list may not be accurate.

There may be more than 6 females.

There may be more than 1 same sex male pair.

I'd love it if Sam Quek was a contestant. I don't think we've ever had an East Asian contestant have we?

A 25 year young Love Islander and a 24 year old Olympian are at one end of the age range, then you have Nick Knowles and Toyah Wilcox on the other end, and everyone else in between. The average age of contestants will be middle aged I suppose.

Anyway, all of this is conjecture...

i am not a fan of the go compare man and toyah. i don't get any excitement energy from either of them tbh

I honestly don't believe that they struggled to sign up female celebrities. There's always desperate celebs out there. It would just be so odd when the show has, particularly in recent years, made such an effort to be inclusive for it to suddenly sign 50% more men than women.

Of the 6 announced so far I have heard of 3 - Chris, Wynne and Toyah. I have heard of JLS but not JB Gill, don’t know the TV doctor or the swimmer.

Just shows how stupid the BBC are if the women celebs are outnumbered by the men.

There was another leaked list that some people thought was true until it wasn't so wait until we know who is actually on it before getting cross about it.

I don't look at the leaked lists, can we just talk a out the actual properly announced ones?

The Sun are often pretty good but they've also been wrong many times in the past, so I won't believe a 9/6 split until all the names have been announced - it seems very unlikely. They're a bit short of pro men, but a bisexual female influencer has been rumoured who'd probably want a female pro, and so far they've been alternating between M/M and F/F couples each year.

(Strange how quickly we've gone from "a same sex couple would be mad/immoral/impractical, it'll never happen" to "surely they wouldn't have a series without a same sex couple?" I'm sure that I used to think that there were really good reasons why same sex couples would be impractical (not impossible but tricky) but I literally can't remember what they were now).

Tasha Ghouri just announced, who by profession is a trained dancer so imagine will be very good!

How do you know this? Her wiki just mentions love island.

But deaf, which levels the playing field somewhat (despite Rose's conspicuous success).

Obviously they will say she isn't trained in Latin and Ballroom, same as Layton last year..but she will have an advantage as she's used to learning choreography.

There's loads about her dancing on Wikipedia.

I'd never heard of her apart from as a name mentioned as a rumour, but her Wiki makes her seem interesting and likeable.

Good to have two high profile disabled contestants in a year, and get past the "but we've already done deafness mentality" but I guess that means that Mollie Pearce from the Traitors is unlikely.

Tasha Ghouri was trained in ballet from a young age.

She is also another deaf contestant.

She spoke about it on Love Island. And she trained at a Dance Academy.

Now Pete Wicks I am excited about! Although he doesn't look to have the best rhythm in his videos with Sam!

I know! I misread it sorry she trained in ballet and has been in a music video sorry 😞

I don't think it matters really we have always had dancers or actors who have danced.
