Hopefully this thread will see some closure to the unpleasantness in the form of findings; as well as the build up to the beginning.

I don't know who any of these people are except for Toyah, but I am not bothered. I often enjoy people I have never heard of.

My only wish is that Kai gets a youngish partner this year.
Rather a sausage fest, no?

I’ve just seen pictures of everyone on the BBC and realised Wynne Evans, the singer, is a different person from Owain Wyn Evans the drummer 🤦‍♀️.

I'm quite surprised by how many I know, including a couple who've been rumoured/hankered over in the past for ages if the list is correct.
Like so many on here, I have loved many that I didn't know well initially though: Hamza, Krishnan, Dr Ranj, Ed, Katie D, Anita, Holly so I'm easily persuaded!
From the line-up officially so far, I am interested in how Chris will fare, I don't know Wynne but think he might be a laugh, Toyah is from my youth and my guilty pleasure (and yes, I'm ashamed!) is Pete Wicks.
On Josh Must Win, he did prove himself to be up for anything including a lycra gimp suit. I do like it when they don't take themselves too seriously.

That would be better for Wynne actually.
I'll admit I put them together for the Welsh factor.
But he's likeable, she deserves a run at it but without pressure, he's my type (bigger, bald!) and as long as he doesn't serenade her at every opportunity, I think they'll hit it off. He has an amazing voice. It would be nice if he could come out of this more than Bloke off the advert guy.

Most are thinking Nadiya or Luba but I agree with a pp, it would be good for Karen to have a young sportsman for a change (heights are same as for Adam/Katya). Now watch her get the old footballer!

He does loads on TV in Wales.
Wynne's Welsh 70s (and 80s) are entertaining- he watches some old Welsh TV with his gorgeous dog, and makes little quips. Gentle and wholesome TV.

On Celeb Masterchef he burst into song every 5 minutes, so unless all that dancing leaves him too breathless to sing I fear his partner's in for much serenading whether she likes it or not! I found him quite annoying and full of himself on CM, but think I'm in a minority from other social media comments, so will give him the benefit of the doubt.

I know everyone knows different people on TV etc, BUT I'm amazed at how many people haven't heard of Pete Wicks 😵

Yes Pete Wicks, is everywhere although it depends what you like to watch I suppose I watch frothy nonsense so see him everywhere.

Really not happy with the BBC's response to latest allegations of mistreatment of backstage staff. Very much 'we do not recognise the behaviour in these allegations' and 'well, lots of people who worked here didn't complain.' Looks as if they regard the complainants as whingers who should have been grateful to get the job.

I don't get how Graziano and Giovanni have gone but nobody at the top.

I've heard of Pete Wicks but have never seen him on anything and I don't really know anything about him. The stubble that looks like it has been neatly tattooed on is rather off-putting.

I've only heard of Pete Wicks in the context of him being the best friend of Sam Thompson on I'm A Celeb, haven't seen him on anything else.

I found him very irritating too so I'm not looking forward to him being on SCD. At least he won't be able to burst into song whilst dancing.

i love pete wicks and hope he's fabulous and gets someone nice to dance with. if he cries at anything then i will too. and if it all goes wrong in strictly then at least everyone will know who he is and he can do advertising for Wickes or candles etc etc

Wilf met Pete Wicks outside the recording of The Full Monty when Pete took part last year. He was lovely to Wilf and said he loved his hat!!

Very annoyed there is more men than women. Even if it's just by one.

I think some older viewers may have seen Pete Wicks on celeb masterchef, but if you don't watch reality tv your not really gonna know him.
If I only watched drama and films I wouldn't know half the Z listers.

Yeh on I'm a celeb all the women were picked off one by one last year.
Females are more entertaining imo 2/3rds of the men won't be worth watching.

I’m doing well I think I’ve heard of most of them. But I said it earlier in the thread it usually doesn’t matter once we start we get to know them.
I hope Kai gets someone decent he was so unlucky with AJ.

Your post to me is a example of how the Strictly casting team need to cover such a wide range, because Krishnan, Ed, Katie D and to a lesser extent Anita were exactly the castings which made me squeal "Really! Can't wait to see what he/she is like!". From my POV they were really familiar characters who I wanted to see in a different context.

But like you, once I've been grabbed by the people I want to see and started watching then my heart will often end up belonging to the people I hadn't heard of before the series, like Alesha.

It doesn't bother me if I haven't heard of people as you get to know them over the Series and can often end up being favourites! Sometimes the ones you do know can be a let down as they are different to how you imagine them being!

Agree with not minding if I know people or not. After a week or two they just become ‘so-and-so who did really well last week’ or something like that.
