Starting a new SCD thread for chat prior to the series as the last is about to fill.

These threads are usually helmed by @PolkadotsAndMoonbeams and I normally deputise, but I haven't seen her around in a while

This thread will discuss who has been chosen for the show, but not who has been paired with who as that's a spoiler for the first show.

So. I heard on the other thread someone said Martin from Homes Under the Hammer might be doing it. So I thought it was time to share this utter gem once again…

Interestingly his previous partners, Judi Love, Vick Hope and Kym Marsh are all still following him.

Obviously it's all guessing at the minute as we aren't being told facts (before Teddy comes with the "you are making assumptions" line), I wonder if she's told Sam something and he's reported it to bbc, and that's what their recent fallout is over. It's odd how her and Sam have recently been in the papers quoted as on a break, and they haven't posted together in a while. It's very odd!

I can see Catherine Tyldesley has commented on Grazs post that he's a lovely guy and she's sorry, I'm taking from that that she knows what's happened (she'll be in the strictly circles), surely she wouldn't say that if he'd spit and hit he?!

Also the "production reported it" could just be to protect her public image and privacy if she's asked for it not to be released.

Chiz and susannah have commented support for him, and Susannahs comment is interesting with cream rises to the top 🤔

I guess CT won't know what happened between Graz and Zara, though. It must be very tricky for those who are loosely involved. If you've had a great experience, it must be hard hearing unpleasant allegations. Such a murky situation.

I'm saddened by the Graziano news, and it makes you wonder about the future of the show.

I think Strictly has lost its shine, and is becoming more pantomime like, and less to do with ballroom and latin with each season.

It needs a break and a makeover.

We are all speculating given no footage has been or probably will ever be released. So unless there is ever some kind of court proceedings, we'll never see it. The closest we'll ever get is Karen's hissing noises.

I think a break will be fatal for Strictly.

People here, and probably elsewhere, have been saying it is becoming more pantomime like for so long. The production team have been pushing and pushing away from the show it was years ago. They have done this to themselves.

Yes, I wonder why nobody spoke up, if there's video footage. Unless it's not been seen until now.

I completely understand why Zara didn't speak up though.

While I agree with your first comments, why would this gradual move away from the original concept lead to 2 pros being accused of things, one of whom allegedly kicked and spat at their partner?
I don't understand the correlation.

But how would video footage only come to light now?

And if the BBC had good safeguarding in place, Zara should've have felt safe to report Graziano for any abuse.

Zara seems vulnerable, and I totally understand why women don't speak up, even if they do feel safe to. Sad times.

But bringing it on themselves- I don't understand.

I feel really sorry for Zara. She hasn’t said anything herself and it appears from reports that the problems with Graz have been raised by people on the show rather than her, yet she’s being criticised across social media right now. I hope she’s ok. The poor woman has done nothing wrong.
