I couldn’t see a new thread so thought I’d make one. Yup another boring one… Anyway looks like Konnor has bagged himself a Lollipop though I’m surprised the candyman didn’t get in there first (ugh). We haven’t had half as many games, the hideaway is perma open and no one’s going in there. No real discussions or code words around how the relationships are going on the chemistry front. What’s going on?

I don’t know why Joey keeps needling and poking at Grace like that. I wonder if his ego is bruised because it’s clear she’s not that bothered about him so he’s trying to get a rise out of her?

I don’t really get Mimi, she should’ve shut the door firmly on Ayo by now. He will just drop her again - probably for someone who looks more like Jessy - if/when he gets her. It’s all a bit sad. And not sure if she’s being as respectful or honest to Josh as she thinks. Nicole gave her terrible advice in that chat.

Ciaran to win 🏆but if Mimi makes a proper go of it with Josh she could get second place.

Agreed, shut the door on Ayo or accept it may be a poor decision to see it through and do so anyway. Either way, stop gaslighting Josh and Jess (both her and Ayo) whilst claiming to occupy some high ground (casa behaviour etc). Not in control or respectful at all, just a silly immature lass lying to others and deluding herself. Jess is less reserved so she says silly clingy things but I wish would give it a go with one of the new boys and leave those two to it.

Nicole is an idiot, or frankly I'm wondering if she's trying to derail Mimi and Josh for the win with that advice.

Jessy must really be questioning what the hell is going on with Joey's crazy behaviour and refusal to accept accountability but I suppose she has no other options in the villa and had might as well ride it out now.

I don’t think Nicole is an idiot or is trying to derail Mimii and Josh. My take is she isn’t terribly grounded and as a result gives really poor advice. She was the same with Uma. Told her twice that she should leave the villa for her man.

As for Joey. Ugh words failed me. Grace went up in my estimation after that episode. Joey seems to have had too much tv exposure and not know how to just be a person.

Someone posted a clip of him in TOWIE crying with his then gf and he’s clearly an emotional guy. Idk how much therapy he’s had. In any case, it hasn’t been effective. He seems shut off from what’s actually going in his head comes across as really immature for his age. I just wonder what Jessy is thinking. She’s seems pretty normal, a bit naive and perhaps hasn’t come across this type of character before.

I agree that Joey is really immature. I do think Grace is quite unlikeable but it all seemed to come from nowhere. I wonder if something happened that we don’t know about. Whatever happened doesn’t justify it though, Joey was so awful. I really don’t like him.

I agree that Nicole is well intentioned. I think that what the others can see is that there is strong chemistry between Ayo and Mimi and some of them are trying to encourage a reunion. I find Ayo baffling, Jess is so right when she says he talks in riddles. I do think that Mimi “gets” him and they have a v similar laidback manner but all that said, I just don’t think he’d stick with Mimi - she’ll be his one got away. He’s too young and immature to appreciate her. I don’t think she owes Jess anything and I can understand why she’s finding Josh a bit full on although I do like him.

I really can’t get behind any couple to win. I like Ciaran, Mimi and Jessy but I can’t vote for Nicole or Joey.

Joey behaved like a teenage boy. He feels he has the right to say what he likes but no one should have the audacity to disagree or challenge him. If they ask him to explain he just tells them it's over etc. He's absolutely awful.

I dont really know. I dislike Joey as much as the next person but, I have seen Grace do it myself. She definitely bought Blade back deliberately. They were all talking about it on the one Aftersun I watched plus; huge amount of "so much is edited" flying around.

But the islanders seemed to agree on it, it is disgustingly hot here with no aircon, I am beginning to really find Grace manipulative (and Matilda) and Joey is just dim.
England had just lost to Spain, (where I live), and I was in a bad mood as there is already alot of negativity towards the Brits.

Awful advice from Nicole to Mimi, she should be reminding Mimi why she's in this situation in the first place and what a rat Ayo is! I agree with Reuben who said Ayo is a free spirit or something similar to that. Ayo made his bed, so now he can lie in it. Mimi needs some perspective here and instead Nicole is confirming everything for her!

Joey is just so bloody awful. He is totally obsessed with Grace and is pissed off by the fact that he is not her normal type.
He is a manchild and I can see why he is unable to maintain a serious relationship with a woman. Both Grace and Jessy are too good for him. Both are beautiful and could do better.

Mimi is very silly. One would think that being a mental health nurse that she would have a modicum of common sense. Very beautiful, but very naive.

I don't mean Ayo and Mimi owe Jess and Josh holding back, absolutely fine to proceed together, it's the coyness and bullshitting about it being over whilst still deliberating and being interested, and meeting up to flirt. Josh has Reuben and came in with no 'stealing' involved, so he's ok but Jess seems quite uncomfortable and lonely hence saying needier things. Ayo was an arsehole pulling her up for mentioning his Comms style in her speech. It was a totally fair cop. Either move on or don't.

@BlackStrayCat I agree that Grace is very manipulative. She has a horrible smug manner and genuinely seems to think that it’s fine for her to shit on people but that somehow she should be immune! She does seem to want to provoke a reaction from Joey and I agree that is why she brought Blade back despite telling everyone she liked Mosiah more.

I am sure there is more to that exchange - but as I said nothing justifies the way Joey behaved and continues to behave towards others.

I think Joey thinks he’s a National Treasure. He thinks that as reality royalty he somehow is more than the others. God knows what Jessy sees in him.

Also I really dislike Matilda. Ugh.

I think Mimi is struggling to remain in an environment with an ex who she still has feelings for, chemistry with and who is still flirting with her. I think that’d be really hard as in real life you’d be able to move on because you wouldn’t be around them all the time.

This is a dreadful series of Love Island. It started well too but has descended into rubbish.

Joey and his evil sidekick Unsweetie Sean are so unpleasant. Joey is a gaslighter extraordinaire. Other than admiring her ruthlessness, I don't really care that much about Grace, but Joey was a bully to her in that game. Yuk!

The Ayo, Mimi, Josh, Jess thing is a sorry state of affairs that no one is coming out of well. I honestly think Mimi must be medicated or gone awol, because she just seems to be coming undone. It is sad to watch.

I'm not entirely sure why but Nicole and Ciaran make me want to vomit on my own shoes. There is something unreal about it all and she seems like a bit of a nutter.

The content feels really tired and the path too well-worn. It isn't Love Island, it's exposure for influencers island. They're all in it to win their next sponsorship or get more followers. I'm very disappointed.

It is a crap series. Joey was an experiment that has hasnt worked and I definitely don't want reality stars flooding in. I didn't see early series, I started watching in I think 2019 but think maybe a return to something more unscripted would be better. On After sun Will pertained to producer meddling (Maya asked him to say who'd told him to be more active in casa then quickly backpedalled)

I don't think Nicole was being underhand giving Mimii that advice. It's obvious Mimii and Ayo want to be together, so she was just telling Mimii to be true to herself. Totally unfair for Josh and Jess to be made to feel they're imagining there's still unfinished business there... it's as clear as day.

I also don't think there's stuff between Grace and Joey that we haven't seen. Many times she asked him why he thought she was still interested in him and he couldn't answer. He's deluded and can't bear the fact she's not pining after him as he expected. He"s also trying to stop Jessy being friends with Grace and as Grace hasn't used the friendship to bitch about him or cause trouble, I can only think he did want to keep the door ajar for Grace and this is a spanner in the works.

I think Konnor and Reuben make a good couple you know.

I feel like Joey was doing all that (to Grace) for show but he must see it doesn't work for him.

That said, I do think there's some truth to what he says.

I personally don't think that there is, and if she does have feelings they're only those false feelings that you get after someone treats you like shit.

But if he thinks she has feelings for him why does he try to embarrass her and make her feel like shit and like she's nothing compared to Jessy? He's going out of his way to tell her over and over that he prefers Jessy to her, even though Grace hasn't done anything wrong to him.

If there is truth to what he says and he's picked up on it then he's an even bigger cunt for trying to draw attention to it and embarrass and degrade her.
