I couldn’t see a new thread so thought I’d make one. Yup another boring one… Anyway looks like Konnor has bagged himself a Lollipop though I’m surprised the candyman didn’t get in there first (ugh). We haven’t had half as many games, the hideaway is perma open and no one’s going in there. No real discussions or code words around how the relationships are going on the chemistry front. What’s going on?

I really find it hard to watch Joey and Sean. I think they have finally gotten comfortable and are showing us their real selves. Why are they so obsessed with Mimii? But I think Jessy is coming off even worse by defending Joey. I go from wondering whether she has really low self esteem to put up with Joey or to thinking she is chasing the limelight with Joey because he has some fame.

The way the three of them - Joey, Sean and Jessy - kept rounding on Mimii and Josh had racist undertones. I know there will be people saying I’m throwing out the race card but I really felt that when I was watching. Jessy is usually quite softly spoken but the way she spoke to Josh last night - ah ah ah ah! - like he was a dog was something else.

@BellesAndGraces I agree Sean in particular will not leave Mimi alone. I also agree that they are reacting to Josh and Mini in a way that doesn’t sit right with me and isn’t explicable based on what we see.

The hate that Mimi is suddenly getting on here and online generally is ridiculous and I don’t believe would be the same if she was a different contestant. Like I said up thread, a few seasons ago when Ekin Su did something similar and lied about various entanglements later in the season the reaction was very different!

@Picoloangel i don’t understand the hate Mimii is getting either. She is clearly
more introverted and I can absolutely see why she might have preferred to speak to Ayo alone and away from prying eyes - whether or not it was to rekindle things or to officially end things. Joey betrayed her confidence because he likes to be the centre of attention. If that’s the way he treats his friends I hate to think how he treats his enemies.

And this idea that Joey and Sean keep bringing it up because they care about truth and honesty is the biggest lump of horseshit to be shovelled into the villa. They just don’t like Mimii and Josh as a couple.

Joey’s biggest red flag though is that he loves to dish it out but absolutely can’t take it and becomes verbally aggressive or personal when someone talks back to him.

I see this more as an attempt to cover up further humiliation than evidence of her being sneaky etc

I wouldn't personally call crawling around on all fours to avoid being seen 'classy'. I don't think Ekin-Su had many fans at the point when she did it either. I seem to remember most on here thought she was a massive fake.

Throwing it out there, I honestly think this series of Love Island is the worst thing I've watched this year!!!

Well yes, she's a very different contestant to Ekin Su. The rather grave, performative integrity when it suited her (or she didn't fancy anyone else in Casa), then lying with a straight face to Josh when asked whether she had any interest in Ayo etc (and was saying the opposite elsewhere).

Ekin Su was a pretty straightforward game player. Davide (and the audience) caught on quite quickly and decided to ride it out with her for the showmance

Ekin Su would generally get caught out, admit whatever she'd done and move on.

Mimii has maintained her lies which comes across quite strange when it's all on camera and as simple as 'do you still like so and so?' 'im still undecided. Sorry it's messy. I understand if you want to talk to someone else too whilst I process it'.

I don't hate Mimii at all. I rate her and the way she's conducted herself. She's in my top 2 girls. I think she's been treated appallingly by Sean and Joey, and has been ill-served by Nicole and Matilda's "advice" - all be it possibly innocently/naively on Nicole's side. (Not sure about how canny Matilda is, tho')

Mimii seems to be enjoying getting to know Josh and must be so frustrating having to keep defending herself to those 2 Neanderthal men - J and S!

Where I differ from some other opinions on here is with regards to Jessica and Mimii post Casa. But that's water under the bridge now and the 2 women have definitely moved on.

I agree with @Aquarius1234 that this season has been pretty dire.

I think a pp was right about Sean’s weird behaviour to Mimi. I don’t think he can comprehend that someone would choose Mimi over Grace, he can’t seem to fathom why she would automatically be second choice if he had the option. Probably some unconscious bias stuff going on with him, either way, he is a complete weirdo!

Josh has said on several occasions that he thinks that both women are beautiful but he has a stronger connection with Mimi. I really can’t understand why Sean is so intent in disproving this.

Sean is worse and ultimately seems to be the one who continues to stir. Joey just sort of reacts to the immediate drama. All be it in a totally unacceptable way.

yeah Sean is definitely much worse than Joey, and it’s clear why he can’t believe Josh would pick Mimi over Grace. It’s sad because it feels like a repeat of the Scott situation. No one could seem to believe he liked Catherine and they got inside her head so much she went to casa and recoupled and he came back alone! He looked gutted!

Even if slimy Sean thinks Josh would actually choose Grace on the outside, he’s
clearly not acting on it so there is no reason to call Josh out. It’s just unkind and embarrassing to Mimi .

I’m glad they showed the video with Grace hitting on Josh - what Sean needs to realise is the one chat they had it was Grace who pulled Josh aside and was clearly the one leading the flirting. Sure I think he thinks Grace is beautiful like most people do, but he was never really into her.

I thought they’d maybe come second but not sure if they’ll even get that thanks to their recent behaviour, although I’d prefer they got it than Sean.

I have no doubt both couples will be in the final 4 though probably alongside Mimi/Josh and the winners Ciaran/Nicole.

Didn't like the pile.on to Josh, not sure who got Jessy riled up but Josh has done nothing wrong. He's a new entrant who's had nothing but drama.

Joey bounces through life with disagreements glancing off him. If Jessy tries to defend him or remonstrate with him, whichever way take his dramas seriously every time she will be a worn out husk and he will be onto the next new shiny thing . The biggest mistake that lass will make will be to think she can change him.

Sean I think probably sees things the way I do at the bottom of it, but instead of yapping online like me, he's not dropping it with those involved once he's made his point. I wondered whether he's over focussing on Grace after josh referred shutting down Grace in the recent game which did sound a bit over-protesty to me. Sean is losing his charm quite quickly. I'm not sure someone as streetwise as Matilda seems will want to be diffusing stupid rows every night out

I'm liking Ciaran's assertiveness! There's a fella who's had enough. I'm looking forward to his interviews. I don't think there'll be any shite about remaining everyone's best friend forever.

I think there's a number of Towie fellas they could have put in and they would have behaved the same way as Joey tbh
Lots of people making out he just doesn't understand and he has learning difficulties and ADHD but if you ever watched TOWIE loads of them used to behave that way, getting involved in everyones relationship drama, making out there was always drama when there was only drama because they kept getting involved in it and making minor things into huge deals, the men were always extremely defensive and horrible if anyone criticised them for anything because of their huge egos.

He stands out now because he's in a different environment but I think they could have put any of a number of Towie fellas in there and they'd be behaving the exact same.

It's like a weird branch of toxic masculinity, they're misogynists and have huge egos but they're all handbags and just thrive on bitching and drama.

I dont mind Joey, he said it was a secret mission and it was.. as for Grace, hes possibly right, she defo brought Blake back for effect and doesnt seem that into Reuben.

As for Mimi, i still dont understand how shes got away with the whole terrace thing.
The terrace has connotations, (i.e snogging) which is why Ayo wouldnt go up there but would talk to her downstairs. If it was just an innocent conversation, why didnt Mimi just pull him for a chat downstairs, which she ended up doing anyway.

I think Mimi went up there for a private chat, like she said. I don't believe she went with the intention of kissing Ayo but she may have hoped he might say he still had some feelings for her.
It's great that it has been cleared up now because she can focus all of her attentions on Josh now and they do seem to be getting along great. I really like Mimi and I think she has handled it well.
I imagine Joey and Sean would be hard to live with. They need to learn that just because they think something doesn't mean that a) it's true and b)they should say it.
