I couldn’t see a new thread so thought I’d make one. Yup another boring one… Anyway looks like Konnor has bagged himself a Lollipop though I’m surprised the candyman didn’t get in there first (ugh). We haven’t had half as many games, the hideaway is perma open and no one’s going in there. No real discussions or code words around how the relationships are going on the chemistry front. What’s going on?

Agreed. Lots of people saying he has ADHD, I have ADHD and would have called him out ages ago. I can't sit on the fence when someone is being awful.

Seam is a slimy creep. He’s obsession with Mimi is so weird. Everything about him makes my skin crawl, I wish he would leave tbh.

Mimi is a bullshitter. Joey communicates terribly and leaps straight to ad hom defences rather than listening to anyone else's points. However she would have snogged Ayo like a shot. I honestly think Josh is thinking 'fuck it. For the sake of a week's paid stay in Spain I'm going to see this through and have a crack at the prize and any opportunities afterwards. Why not? I just wish bloody Joey and Sean would drop it. I'm not thick'.

The thing with Grace is obsessional and bullying.

Can we all stop making excuses for Joeys behaviour? ND, ADHD, mum topped herself is STILL not an excuse to bully & manipulate, belittle & gaslight people. His personality disorder is he is a textbook narcissist

The way he treats Grace is abuse. The way he makes the girls question their memories & retelling the story is gaslighting.
I know plenty of people who have things like ADHD, ASD etc & I myself lost a mother at that age yet we seem to manage not to bully people.

He needs to be removed from the show. Vile little man.

People that are still saying Mimii was taking Ayo to the terrace to clear the air I think might be forgetting that it came not long after her convo with Nicole, where she encouraged Mimii to follow her heart and told her she could see Ago still had feelings for her. I think if they'd have showed that then the terrace clip, Mimii wouldn't have been able to make it look more innocent than it was.

Joey is so aggressive. I'm pleased he can spell melt though, as I was doubtful.

@BlackStrayCat you've said you don't like Joey a few times, yet every post is you defending him? I'm confused! There is no defending that behaviour.

I'm getting quite annoyed with all these armchair psychiatrists diagnosing him with all sorts. Why he does what he does is irrelevant anyway, it doesn't excuse him from doing it.

Also, check out what Joey does in every argument. He always goes for people's achillies heel and preys on their insecurities, ie calling Ciaran a little boy.

He's the sort of person that verbally winds someone up trying to make them crack, then he'll play the innocent "oh but you came for me first". He's mentally abusive, which is just as dangerous as physical abuse.

I’m really surprised by the fact that Ayo has got a pass in all this. He was 100% flirting with and encouraging Mimi leading up to all this happening - at one stage he had a whole conversation with Jess during which he was pointedly and very obviously staring at Mimi! He might have bottled it at the last minute and decided not to go there but he had a hand in happening by the way he treated Mimi and was openly encouraging her. I cannot stand him and don’t get the love for him on here.

I don’t get all the hate for Mimi either - she’s been through a horrible time in there. She came back on her own from CA - the only one who has been humiliated like that this series -and had to sit through days of smug Jess all over Ayo whilst trying to be Mimi’s NBF. To see Mimi who is so self contained tearful and upset was awful because she strikes me as someone who would rarely cry in front of others.

Those very early days after Casa have stayed with me and Jess was awful to Mimi. I also think she made a cynical attempt to get to be Mimi’s friend because she knew Mimi was very popular on the outside.

I think at the time of the mission Mimi did really like Ayo but he’d encouraged that. She had to see him every day and had others in her ear telling her what she wanted to hear. It’s completely understandable that she was humiliated by Ayo’s suddenly being able to make a decision and not coming up to see her. I think what she’s doing now is trying to save face - she’s already been humiliated on national TV in front of millions of people, rejected by someone who was talking in riddles and stringing her along. I’m not surprised at all that she’s now trying to style it to avoid a further humiliation and in the meantime I feel like her relationship with Josh has moved on and she wants to protect it.

Mimi, Ciaran and Reuben are pretty much the only two I like! I did like Jesse but I’ve really gone off her. I keep saying this but I can’t stand Jess. She grates on me. I don’t get the love for her. Despite the fact that I can’t stand Jess I do genuinely believe that she likes Ayo - she’s literally desperate for him to know that - but as for Ayo. I’m not so sure but I am sure that Ayo wants to win.

@BlackStrayCat how you can say Joey was loyal to Mimii, when he literally brought the 'secret mission' up in a challenge, is beyond me. If he was loyal he would never have raised it. And I also cannot believe you think he's the one being bullied. He bullies Grace at every opportunity. And like Ciaran said last night, he had a nerve telling Reuben to keep his nose out of his affairs when he's spent weeks commenting on how Grace is only into him and no one else.

Sean is horrific. Laughing at Josh for 'closing himself off' with Mimii. We could say the same about Mathilda taking him back after he snogged the faces of two other women!

I love Ciaran and Jess. I like Reuben and Josh and Mimii too. Ayo has also redeemed himself in my view.

@CellophaneFlower you are correct in everything you say. I do not like Joey but I think it was an unfair portrayal of what happened. Totally unfair.

I am obviously in the wrong with my loyalty to him over Mimi, judging from all the comments.

I am not going to comment on Grace. But time will tell.

I do think we are seeing the worst side of everyone now though. No excuse for bullying ever, or ganging up. Pack mentality.

According to the article, Joey applied to take part and wasn't scouted. Not sure I believe that! I think that might be another case of "meaning something different to the actual words you're using." Which would be classic Joey-speak.

Re what someone said earlier about Ayo flirting and still leading Mimii on before the terrace stunt. I didn't see it like that at all. He came across to me like he didn't want to be unfriendly or dismissive of her (not his style). Compare that to Joey's behaviour to Grace whenever they had a convo... aggressive, dismissive, cruel - for no reason - he dumped her! Also Ayo is super relaxed and chilled in his manner - that's him. He's not a drama llama so wouldn't see anything wrong in talking to Mimii in a friendly, pseudo-flirty way. He also sort of looks around and stares into the distance when he's thinking/talking so that might come across on camera as "staring" at someone else when edited. There's a lot of tight editing in these shows - that's where the viewer really is being manipulated. (Me included- lol!)

In Mimi’s defence did the terrace incident happen after Josh snogged Grace in the game . That must have pushed her over the edge a bit and wondered if it was worth trying to reignite things with Ayo.

I can quite believe he applied himself. Anything to keep himself current.

Totally agree with you on the Ayo thing. I do think he led Mimii on originally, but I'm now not sure how intentional it was. I think he also felt really guilty about what he did to her after Casa and that made it even harder for him to be blunt with her, as he didn't want to knock her down even further.

Nobody is saying that Mimii is in the right and Joey in the wrong... it's his reasons for outing Mimii. He wasn't morally torn, which would have been different, he doesn't like Josh and wanted to take him down a peg or two.

Even when he went on his secret mission, he made it totally obvious he was up to something. Even then he wanted people to question what he was doing so he'd be 'forced' to come clean. Jessy asked what he was doing and he said something really ridiculous like he was looking for himself or something. He manages to be sly when he's covering his own arse but funnily enough can't manage it for anybody else.

I have a feeling his popularity after the show will be rock bottom 😬 He shouldn't have gone in.

Yeah he didn’t do himself any favours by going in but he will probably be OK as he has such an established fanbase. Also a lot of the islanders seems to come out and sing praises of everyone, including the people they or the public clearly can’t stand.

I suspect they’re all told to downplay any animosity or maybe they’re genuinely very forgiving people or whatever.

There are a few exceptions to that though, like a couple of people from Ekin-Su’s season including one finalist spoke about being bullied during and after the show, by that rugby boy (Jacques?) with ADHD who was Gemma Owens ex.

Ayo was not trying to let Mimi down gently at that whole terrace stage. He was openly telling people that he still liked Mimi. He’s moved on now but he really hadn’t when Mimi first came back and when Josh came in.

What a car crash this season is. So many of the contestants are coming across badly and appear to be so unlikeable. I can't even be bothered to describe all the ways I dislike them. I just find some of them less offensive than others.

I am reluctant to use the word 'celebrity' for Joey Essex but I really hope that they don't repeat the experiment. IMO it has not been a success.

I agree. He’d told a few of the lads there were still feelings there / unfinished business.

It blows my mind how they just get on with it and continue to live together when someone gets ditched for another love islander. You could almost forget entirely how tight Mimii and Ayo were as a couple! It must be excruciating

@Queencam that’s what I think. I love Mimi and I think she’s been judged very harshly. She was heartbroken by what Ayo did in Casa but happily she’s back in her stride now.

I think she’s very different from the usual LI contestants - more introvert and self contained and I’m here for it! She’s just all round classy!

I also remember that when Ekin Su took whatever his name was up to terrace a few years back that was fine apparently despite the fact that she was seeing Davide 🤔

I’m really not seeing how she owed Jess anything and her and Josh were v new. Jess was awful when Mimi came back from Casa. Tone deaf “ I’m snogging Ayo in front of you but let’s be BFFs.” Noooooo!

I see this more as an attempt to cover up further humiliation than evidence of her being sneaky etc
