I couldn’t see a new thread so thought I’d make one. Yup another boring one… Anyway looks like Konnor has bagged himself a Lollipop though I’m surprised the candyman didn’t get in there first (ugh). We haven’t had half as many games, the hideaway is perma open and no one’s going in there. No real discussions or code words around how the relationships are going on the chemistry front. What’s going on?

I think she seems a decent and intelligent lass, just haven't warmed enough to her or her story to particularly want her to win either way. I admire her conduct though post- Sam. If she'd come in with Moziah and made a go of that that might have been different as he seemed a bit more authentic than Blade (he wasn't unlikeable, just more of a strategist and I think overplayed his hand)

I don't really understand all the hype about Josh finding out what really happened with Mimii. It's surely not any different to what she told him about clearing the air and tying up loose ends? I mean when she spoke about how her feelings keep knocking on the door or whatever, that might not be pleasant for Josh to hear, but I don't think it's going to be some shocking reveal. He knows there's a complicated history and she's been a bit confused and torn.

I agree. I think it's possibly to be a bit academically challenged and also manipulative. Joey is an egotistical, dishonest misogynist. He totally gaslit Samantha and Grace and now Lola (is that her name?). He definitely gave her the come on and then played the naive 'oh! I didn't realise I was coming over that way!' Just like he did when he feigned surprise that Jessy 'stole' him from Grace.

Yes and then something along the lines of "I told you so" to Jessy, when Lola didn't pick him, as if it was totally down to him and he'd told her not to 🙄

Because she told Josh she had feelings but they were put to one side but then clearly tried to take Ayo to the terrace to see if they could continue.

I dislike him as much as you! I just think last night he did nothing wrong.

It's that she was rolling around the terrace (LI signal for intending to make a move) after previously discussing a rekindling with Nicole.

Obv can't prove she was going to say anything different, but it looks very much like once Ayo refused to meet there, she likely dropped that plan and went over old ground.

She'd said to Josh that she was processing everything but had made up her mind, which wasn't true. It was unfair especially given Josh's late arrival

Yes, I understand he brought the Mimii thing up and that he shit stirred. I just think that after speaking to her Joey decided he’d made a mistake and tried to minimise things and protect Mimii… of course getting it wrong. What I mean by cover it up is he told Josh certain aspects but not the whole story... and blurted out that he had done as much. I didn’t see telling him this as manipulative. I saw it, as I say as blurting and then backtracking in a omg, what has my mouth just said again sort of way.

I do think posters are onto something that Joey may have some kind of ADHD / learning disability. My 16 yo dd has a few friends, who are similar - 2 female, one male. It’s just the sort of thing they’d do. One friend in particular, who is very, very vocal and always in the middle of things. She is pretty harmless but the stuff she comes out with when she gets a bee in her bonnet. She doesn’t let up when she has a belief about something and could start a fight with a paper bag. I could well imagine her acting in similar ways to Joey. I didn’t see it until that conversation with Josh.

Even when Mimii had done her best to pull the wool over josh's eyes again, there was Joey, stirring it up "I could tell you what happened after, but I can't" or something similar, just trying to make Josh aware it wasn't as Mimii had said. If he cared about Josh then he might have a point, but he doesn't, he just wanted to hurt him and stir, after comments made in yesterday's challenge.

That is manipulation at it's finest... it's as clear as day that none of that was accidental. He was itching to spill the beans. The convo with Mimii was just him saying he thought it was a secret mission and for some odd reason that was all Mimii was bothered about, most probably as she was trying to minimise the whole thing.

As per my last comment, he then went on to stir again once he realised Josh didn't know the full story. That is NOT the actions of somebody who has accidentally put their foot in it.

Joey has spent the last however many years literally working in reality tv. He will be totally comfortable with producers briefing and 'guiding' his narrative. The other islanders don't have the benefit of that experience and may only now (at 7 weeks in) be used to the process. Not only that, he comes into the show with an established fan base that watches reality tv. The islanders with popular IG and tik-tok accounts don't have anywhere near that type of following and the others... 🤷‍♀️

Yes he manipulated/handled a situation but it was not him in the wrong. The group were attacking Him and Jess.
Mimi was totally in the wrong AND kept the pretence of something beig up with Jess the next day.

Oh god yes, I'm not saying Mimii shouldn't have been outed, I'm just saying Joey's reasons for doing it weren't the right ones. Had Joey sat Mimii down and said he wasn't comfortable about being involved in what she was doing and she needed to fess up, that would have been a whole different kettle of... fish 😂

This is how I see it.
He felt injustice/attacked and that caused him to spill like he did but he didn't really want to throw mimi under the bus so he let her explain. She chose to cover up to josh and josh then chose to re quiz joey. There was no reason for josh to then carry it on with joey and by him doing this it backed joey into a corner. Joey had 2 choices either just apologise and squash it with josh or let josh that mimi isn't being fully truthful.
There's something really off with Grace, I can't warm to her and I don't find her composed.

Yay! Looking forward to this! It’s a shame Joey mentioned anything beforehand, it would’ve been more shocking if he hadn’t! Mimi certainly had no intention to say anything & in my opinion it was a secret mission. She didn’t have to say the exact words - but she asked Joey (of all people) to get Ayo without anyone else knowing? I think Joey is correct in assuming it was a secret mission.
Mimi will now try & minimise this, although Josh seems to already know there’s more to it. Not sure what Jess will say.
