I couldn’t see a new thread so thought I’d make one. Yup another boring one… Anyway looks like Konnor has bagged himself a Lollipop though I’m surprised the candyman didn’t get in there first (ugh). We haven’t had half as many games, the hideaway is perma open and no one’s going in there. No real discussions or code words around how the relationships are going on the chemistry front. What’s going on?

I feel Mimi is in self preservation mode because she was being egged on by Nicole and others and made to believe that she and Ayo had mutual romantic feelings and went full on Bridgerton. I think it’s a bit like being drunk and a few days later being mortified by something that seemed like a good idea at the time. I think she has moved on now and doesn’t want to be dragged back there.

I keep saying it but they are an unlikeable bunch by and large. I really can’t get behind Ayo and Jess. Ugh. She’s kind of aggressive and a bit crude and chavy. I find Matilda similar. I can imagine them getting drunk and very shouty in a Witherspoons! Each to their own but it's not my thing.

Sean and Joey are vile. Ciaran seems to be unravelling. Nicole is batshit crazy. Grace is just sly and smug and off. I believe that she does still
like Joey. I can’t put my finger on why but I do. I like Jessy but Christ she has bad taste and poor judgment.

I can’t believe I’m saying this but I miss Ronnie and Harriet. There’s a level of hostility now that i think wouldn’t have been there.

I must admit that I never watch the last few days - the dates are cringe and so is the final. Usually I’m in two minds whether to watch the series and am glad I did. This year I wish I hadn’t - and, yes, I know where the off button is and that no one is paying me. 🤣

Watching now. Sean and Matilda are truly horrid. The definition of smug and just so rude!

I really cant stand that gobby cow. She's a nasty piece of work.

Tomorrow night will be interesting, cos Joey is not done yet 🤣🤣🤣🤣.

Mini's little ass is going to be on fire and I'm sure Josh won't take kindly to being made a fool of. Keen to see how she reasons it all out.

I have a feeling she’ll keep going with the gaslighting , even if they show clips, I’ve noticed she can never admit she’s wrong, (although that may just be a love islander thing) but yeah Josh won’t be having it! Lol

ludocris · 18/07/2024 23:45

How does everyone know what's going to be on tomorrow's episode?

BlackStrayCat · 18/07/2024 23:46

A poll on instagram apparently.

honeyrider · 19/07/2024 00:15

It's getting to the final so they're already trying to throw shade on each other couple hoping to show cracks in each couple.

RenoDakota · 19/07/2024 00:34

Seeing loads of love for Jessica tonight. She might have single-handedly won the contest for her and Ayo with that fabulously funny line about Sean wearing Joey's arsehole like a hat. We literally cried laughing here.

ElderPrice · 19/07/2024 08:03

So far just been lurking on the thread but wanted to add my appreciation for Jess's line about Sean. The only time I've laughed out loud over the past few weeks.

I really like her (and Ayo). To me she's probably the most genuine, natural person in there. She can't help that she was a Casa girl. They literally go in to steal a guy... just like the bombshells... so I don't think it's fair to dismiss her for going for Ayo or for being frustrated/hurt by all the Mimi crap.

I think Jessy is being genuine also and I like her too but her association with Joey is just a complete turn off.

No one seems like much fun in there this series. And it's obvious now that they're all sick of the sight of each other and a bit stir-crazy! 😆

Sean - ugh from the start!

Catlord · 19/07/2024 08:50

Mimii makes me very uncomfortable. The straight faced lying and rewriting history. I've been thinking for a while I wouldn't want to come across her in a nursing capacity. I know this is a silly gameshow and I'm not suggesting she'd hurt someone but she's so very comfortable lying, manipulating, and doing bizarre things with that flat expression. I felt for Josh stuck between her and Joey twisting around when all he's ever done is come in and been quite straightforward.

BlackStrayCat · 19/07/2024 09:01

I totally agree

Agree re Ronnie and Harriet, there isn't a standout fun character (well Ciaran is nice, Matilda is funny but has a rowdy streak, Reuben could be the fun guy if he'd been a longer fixture but he's come in too late to catch on now I think folk find him a bit irritating).

Having those two in would lighten up these last couple of weeks if Ronnie hadn't gone too bonkers in CA

BlackStrayCat · 19/07/2024 09:40

I think they all think Joey and Jessy have an unfair advantage as Joey is famous. They actually however, are one of the best couples and Joey is just being himself and neither are manipulative (IMO) I would also not be surprised if Joey was not allowed to win (and knew this)

So, they are being attacked. Unfairly, in all the interactions.

Matilda and Sean are the most manipulative and want to win. They do not care about each other. Just the deals to be had.

Ceiron and whatsit will be attacked next as they will be the next threat. They also want to win. What message does that send out to coercive controllers?

The real winners should be Ayo and Jess. We will see. They were not seen as a threat/viable couple because of Mimi but all that is going to be exposed as lies.

Cannot wait for Jess and her reaction.😁

BlackStrayCat · 19/07/2024 09:43

Grace is so smug and stands no chance. I still believe there are things we dont see re:Joey.

He is obnoxious, not denying that. But he is a bit "challenged" academically and Grace is sly.

I know what you mean
I liked Mimi at the beginning and was actually rooting for her, but she has shown that she can be quite deceitful.

Sean is just horrible. I don’t think that he has any redeeming qualities tbh.
i am glad that Jess is always on his back

I'm sure Joey would let us all know if there were incidences which proved Grace still liked him. She's asked him several times and he has nothing to say. None of the other islanders seem to have noticed either. He just cannot accept there's a girl who isn't interested in him 🤷

CellophaneFlower · 19/07/2024 11:29

And come to think of it, if she WAS still interested in him, calling her out on it and belittling her every chance he gets, is just as awful, if not worse. He's already fucked her off and she was gracious enough not to cause any tension in the villa over it. This seems to be what's jarring him so much... he wanted the drama. Shock horror.

BlackStrayCat · 19/07/2024 11:31

I think you are right.
Just seems sometimes that there is something else going on. I am overthinking LI 😅

I think this is what proves Joey IS manipulative 😂 Jessy is saving him at the mo. She desperately tried to deflect the secret mission convo and change the subject as she knew he was digging a hole. She clearly doesn't like the way he treats anybody but her, so I can't help thinking she is in awe she's pulled a minor celeb.

BlackStrayCat · 19/07/2024 11:38

I think we will see tonight... exciting times!😅

Catlord · 19/07/2024 13:22

I think Joey would have said if Grace had said or done something specific. He seems to be indicating it's looks or staring but no particular instances. Grace won't win, she provides interest and churn as plenty of guys fancy her but she's too self possessed and serious of a character to really get behind coupled with an element of 'forgiven but not forgotten' for her initial lack of humility with Sam.

It'll probably be Nicole and Ciaran to win but I'd like to see some reflection from Nicole first as I don't think it's really deserved after some of her behaviour.

If Ayo and Jess have a really good week they could do it, or at least second place now that Ayo has finally shown some integrity

Sean is spoiling chances for him and Matilda but I prefer them to Joey and anyone

Not sure how Josh will react now he's seemingly burnt his bridges with Grace. I'd cut my losses if I was him rather than stay in looking like a fool for the sake of a week

painkiller86 · 19/07/2024 14:09

Honestly don't get why anyone doesn't like Grace. She is so composed and emotionally stable. I'd love to be like that! Joey is picking and picking at her and she still holds her composure. I felt so sorry for her when her name was being dragged up repeatedly in last night's episode.

I think Grace is ok too! She is probably the only female on there that knows her self-worth. I don't understand why that is being interpreted as smug.

It is not a planet, It is Love Island.
Samantha.
Grace.
New girl Lola.
Jessy.
Every new girl infact.

Yes, every new girl. I can absolutely see why even if his behaviour has been infuriating at times. He did endear himself to me a little last night when he tried to cover up the Mimi thing. He does think before speaking and I agree with what people said about him possibly having ADHD. He strikes me as having been one of those boys at school, who all the girls want to be with and all the boys want to be. Not shy at all with the chat, which probably indicates high testosterone. When you’re looking to date someone, especially as a young 20ish year old, these characteristics can be very appealing and sexy.

Nicole is the total opposite to Grace and can only measure herself against the man on her arm.
