We started to follow Our Girl back in 2014 and although there will be no further series, we do revisit from time to time. We have watched all seven series of Soldier Soldier to keep up our military terminology and have galloped through the three series of of The Musketeers. There was a definite connection between Our Girl and The Musketeers in the delightful form of Luke Pasqualino. We are currently part way through series 8 of Spooks. Having recently witnessed the demise of Adam Carter in the last series, he has been replaced by Lucas North.

We are in the final stages of series 9. We start series 10 very soon.

Did you ever go to Highclere Castle Rhu, the property used for the 'upstairs' filming?

It was very disappointing I thought. A rip off.

I haven't been ilove and haven't found a good reason to venture that far for a day trip, yet. Maybe one day. They do something special for Christmas I think (there's an idea!) But in the meantime there are some documentary series on Highclere knocking around I think.

It's a few years since we went to Highclere Rhu. The staff were so patronising. As you can imagine, 99% of visitors were there as fans of the Downton series yet the staff just kept saying 'this is a family home not a film set'. Everywhere however were signs such as 'Lady Mary's bedroom' and so forth. To view the upstairs rooms we basically shuffled round in a massive queue. It was like being in a covid queue... except it was a few years before covid!!

Evening all! Yes ilove it does sound a bit two-faced, cashing in on the obvious success of Downton, but trying to distance yourself at the same time. I did have a look on their website about their Christmas events, but the house tour and afternoon teas are already sold out...ah well, might just have to give it a miss for another year or permanently. Perhaps, I will just continue to believe it's in Yorkshire and the Crawley descendants still live there. I still think there is great scope for a new series based on the younger generation possibly during the war years and post-war years. The kids will be old enough to be involved. It would be interesting to see how they cope with all the enormous tax hikes of the Labour government after the war and whether they'd sell out to the National Trust!

Maybe this is actually yet another hustle. It sounds like they are going to steal it but I reckon they will con buyers out of the money somehow, based on them believing they've bought the diamond.
