I was hoping it was a different story each episode but obviously not. Quite enjoying it though.

I found it entertaining. But it really annoys me being in English. There is no way the police conduct interviews etc in English. And the detective from the UK speaks Turkish anyway.
I thought the wife was pregnant and just being sarcastic. Anyway the golden rule is never ask about a pregnancy unless 100% sure.
Great shots of Istanbul though

i was taught at an early age never to comment unless you can see the head!

Prometheus · 09/07/2024 08:02

I don’t think we’re meant to think they are conducting interviews in English. I assumed it was more subtle - it’s in English for the English audience but we have to imagine they are speaking Turkish.

Think they are 2 parters

Guessing last night was finished as found the killers

But the underlying plot is I think - finding out what happen to his girlfriend and why she was run over

What did she find out investigating.

Just watched it all on IPlayer ( no spoilers ), really enjoyed it and it made me want to go to Istanbul. The actor who plays the older detective is fabulous and used to be in Eastenders!

He was indeed. We are showing our age as i R.E.M. him

We’ve watched two episodes but binned now. It just hasn’t grabbed us. I love Turkey and I was hoping to see more of Istanbul and see the real Turkey.

JurassicClark · 14/07/2024 17:34

I love seeing Istanbul but the dialogue is so bad as to be embarrassing and the acting is beyond wooden. I just don’t think I can watch any more of something so hideously clunky.

It’s a real shame, as seeing something set in Turkey was really appealing.

duc748 · 14/07/2024 17:34

I think this may have to wait until tomorrow night....

Blondeshavemorefun · 15/07/2024 13:52

It was ok. Another 2 parter

And wife is def preg 😂

Just watched episodes 3 and 4. I don't know what it is but it hasn't grabbed us. We really like the foreign dramas and watch most of the BBC4 and Walter Presents ones.

Want to like it but it's dull.

duc748 · 16/07/2024 19:27

I'm much the same. Haven't watched ep #4 yet, but I thought the new story in ep #3 wasn't even as interesting as the first one. I've watched Turkish series on Netflix that were much more fun. It's only old Cetin that keeps me watching.

Blondeshavemorefun · 17/07/2024 01:37

Agree story 1 was better than story 2

Hopefully 3 be better

I went to know more about the fiancée accident

Yeah, I just watched ep #4 and that was a bit rubbish, really, wasn't it? And I thought, that poor lad, he's been beaten black and blue, and he gave you the memory stick, and you just let him walk out of the door? The least you could do would be give him a few quid!
