Whoever managing i player content needs a serious debriefing meeting Monday morning. What on earth guys?

BBCs coverage doesn’t seem as thorough as last year. I was really looking forward to it, but they’ve been a lot more choosey in what they’ve shown, rather than just streaming everything from a stage.
there’s been very little on tv, whilst I know the artists are playing.

The whole of each days sets from each stage are there, if you go to Pyramid/Other/Park etc then click play from start it takes you to a menu and you can forward to the set you want to watch

ABirdsEyeView · 30/06/2024 00:17

Middle aged people don't have to give up their jobs to younger ones.
One of the things I love about Glastonbury is that it's ageless

Wonder if any Mumsneters work at the bbc that can feed back. 😂 The glasto i player totally messed up this year. You press to watch one act and end up having to flick through someone completely different. What’s with that I wonder?

Mines not done that, is it glitchy? I think it could definitely be clearer though when you click ‘live’ that play from start is for everything on that stage, not the start of that set, I found that completely by accident

Well I just loved Coldplay. DD and I singing and dancing along. She now wants to go and see them. She has SN and her commentary was hilarious. As long as they sing The Scientist she's happy. Made me cry seeing her enjoying it so much.

She has good taste. The is one of my most favourite songs. I can't sing it without crying though.

Coldplay put on an excellent show. Loved seeing Michael J Fox there, and I hope he was genuinely enjoying it. I don't think Michael Eavis had any idea he was on screen tbh. Can't believe he will be 90 next year!

Aquarius1234 · 30/06/2024 00:33

BBC two live sophie ellis bexter.
Can she sing though??

Appalonia · 30/06/2024 00:33

Watching Coldplay now, it is pretty spectacular!

JaneJeffer · 30/06/2024 00:38

I wish the BBC would go back to putting it all on the RB

JaneJeffer · 30/06/2024 00:55

Sam Smith!

Where??

JaneJeffer · 30/06/2024 00:56

BBC4

Confusedbythistreat · 30/06/2024 01:05

Love Jo W, agree don't think Michael Eavis had any idea he was on screen, was sad to seem him looking so unanimated 😔

NameChangeForPoo · 30/06/2024 01:06

Aquarius1234 · 30/06/2024 00:05

That was her fault?

and her completely uncalled for and horrid comments a few years back about a female singer’s cellulite 😳

MurielThrockmorton · 30/06/2024 07:05

That's funny @Changingplace as I said to DD in the car on Friday when a Stereophonics song came on that I knew I'd seen them but I couldn't remember where! Pretty sure I saw Radiohead at a V festival as well though I couldn't say for definite. I definitely saw Groove Armada though, and David Bowie at Glasto 2000.

@WingBingo when I used to go in early 2000s the headliners would always come back for an encore but none of the other acts. I didn't go to gigs for a long time when DD was younger but now I've started to go with her. One of the changes I've noticed is a lack of shouting and clapping and stamping for bands to come back on. Her view is "they're going to come back on anyway, so there's no point" but I find it quite disconcerting!

@FailBetter Travis, yes! They headlined in 2000 and I remember them coming on and Fran Healy just standing there for a moment looking out at the crowd with a look on his face of pure joy/amazement/awe before they started. I've tried to find a clip of it on YouTube before but not managed.

Anyone seen Confidence Man? We saw them at Latitude last year, and I find her dancing mesmerising. The blokes in the veils (?) though are a bit freaky. Actually, I'm assuming they're blokes I suppose they may not be!

Oh do try & take her. She'll sing & dance all night. You really do 'feel the love' at their concerts & this comes from a grumpy, fat, middle aged woman who is not easily impressed! Xx

Whilst some of us at airing opinions I’m finding the smugster same old presenters too much this year. Think jo Wiley et al. BBC really need to give some younger people a go at presenting honestly.

YES! I so agree with this! They need some new blood. I always find the presenters quite annoying anyway but they need to give someone else a go.

sugarbyebye · 30/06/2024 08:01

I’ve just been watching the live sets through rewinding and forwarding the live streams from the stages so not seen any presenters, but I’ve met Clara in real life loads of times as she’s old friends with my sister and she’s really lovely and very passionate about her work. I don’t listen to radio 2 so have no beef with Jo Whiley, always liked her presenting style. I like the fact the BBC don’t turf out presenters once they turn 40.

my partner works at the bbc and I have registered my disappointment in the iPlayer coverage of past sets being uploaded - they do seem sparse this year. Maybe they’ll go up on Monday.

There’s definitely other BBC radio presenters on site, maybe they’ll mix it up next year and bring some on screen too,

I’m not keen on the performances they do just in the BBC studio, I’d rather see more from the site, like a segment from the circus/theatre fields or the green fields.

Ahhh thank you. I will give it a go. I’ve missed loads like seb lowe. Not necessarily stuff they’d advertise showing but worth watching.
this year they’ve labelled it as the headline of the day artist not the stage so I think that’s been my confusion.

I agree it is confusing, the main label should be the stage name and a subheading of ‘now playing live’ for whoever is currently on, rather than the other way round.

I’m sure that’s how they did it last year so I say there with my app flicking between the stages

ScottishLottie · 30/06/2024 09:41

Is Kasabians set on Woodies going to be on iplayer does anyone know?

Peanutbutterfan · 30/06/2024 09:41

Just to add that I don’t want only young presenters or for older ones to be kicked out but some variety would be nice!

Willmafrockfit · 30/06/2024 09:55

why is no longer the John Peel stage?

I saw Confidence Man, thought they were great! In fact my favourite part of this Glastonbury has been discovering new acts. Really enjoyed Seventeen, the K Pop band, their energy was infectious!
