First time in 10 years I've not been able to go to Glastonbury due to damn cancer. However the lovely people I work with there as stewards have been sending me regular updates. I'm loving it - as my Glastonbury isn't BBC Glastonbury. Last year it was 30 years since my very first one, and so I think that was a satisfying number to stop at.

People always think people are miming because there is a slight sound delay in a massive field. They're not.
If I was there today I'd have gone to see the skatalites.

I hope you are doing well - I've seen you on the swiftie threads!

I've not been to Glasto since my daughter was born (11 years ago!) I had tickets for 2013 but I was 36 weeks pregnant when it came around, still not over the fact I missed the Rolling Stones!

Me and my husband say every year it'll be good to go again (been to 5)

Next year...... 😬

Orbital should be worth a watch later on, apparently Tilda Swinton is doing something with them - hypnotizing the audience?

Orbital will be mental!
We were right at the front in 2011 when they played other stage, glow sticks went flying when they played 'satan'

Cyndi can't seem to hit any of the notes but I bet if you're in the crowd she sounds great.

Agreed, I bet it’s a brilliant atmosphere live, love her slightly bonkersness!

PeachyKeane · 29/06/2024 19:53

Love The Breeders but appreciate they are pretty niche. Bless em, they're in their 60s now as well. All my faves are aging, need new bands to love ❤️

HowardTJMoon · 29/06/2024 19:57

I'm watching The Breeders too. I'm going to have to dig out my old CDs because I'd forgotten just how good they are.

sugarbyebye · 29/06/2024 19:57

I met my long term partner during an Orbital gig at a festival.

Catching up with Michael Kiwanuka now, he's just a bag of talent.

tuned in briefly for the Breeders but I only really know a couple of their songs. Don't think I ever had any albums.

Lankum were bloody brilliant.

Willmafrockfit · 29/06/2024 20:00

keane is showing on bbc4 at 8
and i thought cyndy lauper was good, better than debbie harry

Willmafrockfit · 29/06/2024 20:02

Anyone watching Cindy Lauper? I've always loved her, but this isn't going well.

I agree. Didn’t quite pull it out of the bag, and thank you for mentioning Keane - just turned over

Appalonia · 29/06/2024 20:07

Black Pumas were brilliant, that guy can SING. And he's hot!😁

Appalonia · 29/06/2024 20:10

The lead singer of Yard Act reminds me of Jarvis Cocker.

the80sweregreat · 29/06/2024 20:10

I thought it was Jarvis! lol
He does resemble him a lot

longtompot · 29/06/2024 20:27

Watching Kasabian now. Was a bit worried about them playing, but I see Serge is now the lead singer & the previous one has left, thank god.

Caught a bit of Michael Kiwanuka Cold heart. Love his voice, & he seems like such a lovely person.

JaneIves · 29/06/2024 20:27

Tom Chaplin is aging beautifully 💙
What a voice he has.

Always a mental crowd at Kasabian!

I was there in 2009, they played the sunset set before Springsteen, one of the best sets ever, it went off massively!

sugarbyebye · 29/06/2024 20:34

little sims is acing it. definite headline material. i wish she was headlining instead of coldplay!

WeKnowFrogsGoShaLaLaLaLa · 29/06/2024 20:35

Agreed she is incredible! And she’s clearly having the absolute time of her life too.

EachandEveryone · 29/06/2024 20:53

Well I’m really loving Streets bringing back great memories

Windysquall · 29/06/2024 20:55

I’m all set for Orbital. Currently watching Nitin Sawhney, who I’d never heard of, they’re good, talented musicians.

Me too. He's sounding brilliant and great with the crowd

faffadoodledo · 29/06/2024 21:02

I've heard Nitan Sawney on the radio before, presenting. And gosh he's dull. But his set was really lovely and mellow. Loved it
