Anyone else??
Need to discuss. Thought it was very, very good.

Only done 2 episodes but enjoying the many strands to the story so far

Rollercoaster1920 · 16/05/2024 13:15

So much in this series. A lot of parenting things. Too pushy? Too relaxed? It's not an easy watch.
I'm not impressed with the conclusion. Without giving away the ending I thought the perpetrator was an odd angle, but worse was how well one character looked after losing their spleen.

I did find the series good though.

Hopperinhawkins · 16/05/2024 17:39

Agreed! I'm on the last one now. Lots of threads to pull together in it. I think some of the acting has been really good.

Just finished it! So many storylines! I thought it was great. As others have said, not always easy to watch but I thought the acting was very strong.

Doingtheboxerbeat · 16/05/2024 22:44

It reminded me of a soap, in that there were so many misunderstandings that would have been cleared up immediately after a simple conversation. That frustrates me so much.

Also, anyone here watched Euphoria? I thought that the relationship between Adam and Kelly was similar to Rue and Fezco(rip 😥).

Hopperinhawkins · 17/05/2024 15:10

I wished we had seen Adam tell Jess's mum about the bribe money. I think it did a great job of portraying adults being more toxic than kids and social media being the powerhouse in everyone's 'undoing'.

I enjoyed this, thought it was good and some really good young actors I’d not seen before.
The parents were pretty ghastly - all of them (with the exception of Warren Brown’s character although he wasn’t perfect either).
I did see the denouement coming, as the brother had been alone with Jessica at the party when she was apparently spiked. And I wasn’t really sure about the “happy ending” with the sister from Syria - just that it didn’t seem that realistic to me. (I doubt in reality there would have been a happy ending to that particular story thread). But it’s well worth watching.

lazymum99 · 17/05/2024 20:30

Just finished bingeing this. I really enjoyed it. Parenting was seriously odd except Kelly’s dad.
kids were so much more responsible than the adults.
Bloody social media. Thank goodness I don’t have young teenagers anymore. What a minefield

Showmethebagels · 19/05/2024 06:11

I’ve finished this and enjoyed it but could not work out where Adam and the small child fit in! Why was Adam in Kelly’s old family holiday photos? Maybe I missed something!

lemonsaretheonlyfruit · 19/05/2024 10:20

@Showmethebagels

I seem to remember them saying that Kelly's family took Adam in when he was younger and needed support.

Showmethebagels · 19/05/2024 14:31

Thank you @lemonsaretheonlyfruit , what about the child?

lazymum99 · 19/05/2024 16:55

That’s his brother. I reckon they must have fostered them when Adam’s mum couldn’t cope

lazymum99 · 19/05/2024 16:57

Actually the brother just have been born after Adam went back to his mum. He also had a relationship with his dad but unclear at what age that started

Hotttchoc · 19/05/2024 20:13

I finished this today

it was good but not as good as line of duty

I didn't feel like there was much suspense as they showed a tiny bit of the ending at the beginning and I didn't feel like I was wondering all the way through who did it as much as I should have been

Whydoiwearsomuchleopardprint · 19/05/2024 23:06

I thought it was absolutely brilliant, best thing I’ve seen in ages! Acting was superb from all of the cast but the teenagers were incredible! I cannot recommend this highly enough! Was so so good!

DeadbeatYoda · 21/05/2024 08:46

Really liked this. Finished it last night. It wasn't mega special or anything, a couple of unlikely / 'it wouldn't happen like that' plot lines but it was a solid drama with good performances from the actors. The adverts drive me nuts though because I pick up my phone when they come on and then miss the program when it comes back on.

DontBiteTheCat · 21/05/2024 15:02

I really, really enjoyed this. Binged it all today, really good acting and I loved all the different threads that made up the storyline.

Some of it was unrealistic - would the police carry out a property search for assault? Would he have been looking at jail time for that? I don’t know, but I enjoyed it!

tennissquare · 21/05/2024 22:14

Absolutely loved this show, best series I've watched in ages, really recommend.

MongoFrogman · 22/05/2024 09:34

A few bits that didn’t make sense to me, I’m sure there are more:

Charlie says he felt his Dad deserved the beating, so surely he’d have deleted the video evidence in anger at the time, not kept hold of it for several years.

How did Josh get hold of the videos of Jessica from Adam’s phone? Surely like everybody Adam will have had a passcode / not left his phone unobserved.

Charlie needing to pay for it!! Unless it’s a shame/power thing and it’s precisely because Bazi is downtrodden.

The final attempt by Natalie to get Kelly kicked off the team and replaced by Natalie, even after Jessica had been outed for steroid use, seemed unlikely and a bit too psycho.

How did Kelly get hold of Charlie’s phone number? She’s shown calling him from the beach party. Finding his socials is one thing, but not actual phone number. They’re not shown as having had mutual friends.

The people-smugglers get free pass here, shown to be tough but fair - and ultimately all heart!!!

MongoFrogman · 22/05/2024 09:35

“replaced by Jessica”

Lovewine1975 · 22/05/2024 09:58

Finished it last night, thought it was really good and the acting by the younger cast was amazing. Something I did wonder about was Charlie's little sister, why did she give there dad the password to his laptop, was it attention seeking as she didn't seem to get a lot of it from the mum or dad.

BlackStrayCat · 22/05/2024 12:18

It was really brilliant!

I loved Adam and Kelly.

ageingdisgracefully · 22/05/2024 16:01

I enjoyed it but spent too much headspace trying to tie the strands together. I didn't see the end coming and I was a bit wtaf about it.

Loved the tumbling and gymnastics though.

Litthefirealready · 24/05/2024 10:56

Just finished this and immediately looked for a thread about it to see if others enjoyed it as much as I did.
Thought it was brilliantly acted and loved the storyline. Would definitely recommend, the best thing I’ve seen recently.

crypticcurls · 26/05/2024 22:38

Really enjoyed this, great acting especially the young ones. Would love to have to have seen what happened to kelly/bazi and adam/jess. When they were in bed together what was that all about? Why were they laughing then she said she was sorry? Why did he think it was her first time? Why when she said it's not did he say you know what I mean? I need answers!
