I couldn’t see another thread on this. Anyone watched it yet? There were a lot of uncomfortable aspects particularly with the vlogger dad & his wife. It was fascinating to me how he was a Christian & very open about his faith while then leading a double life. I found the pregnancy test thing incredibly weird.
I’ve seen all the episodes but wary of giving too much away!

PS. It’s on Netflix, I meant to add that to the title.

I was browsing through Netflix earlier, looking for something to watch later. I saw this and put it on my "possible" list - do you recommend it?

Sleepismyfavourite · 16/05/2024 10:49

Yes I found it very easy to watch & it raised some interesting questions. It’s in three parts but you could try the first part & see if it grabs you.

Yes, the Christian youtubers were both awful for different reasons. Ridiculous of him to say that Ashley Madison was 'evil' but he was the one who signed up to it and was visiting strip clubs and massage parlours outside of the site. What a shitwrangler!

SabreIsMyFave · 17/05/2024 00:09

I started this today! Got halfway through the first episode and then had to get back to work. Will carry on tomorrow. Interesting stuff so far!

Justme2023123 · 17/05/2024 00:10

It was very easy watching. Didn't really warrant 3 episodes

My thoughts exactly.
Like the website forced him to sign up?!

Sleepismyfavourite · 17/05/2024 09:14

Yes I was very unconvinced by the vlogger guy. I went away feeling pretty sure he would do it again. He seemed very manipulative & shifty. I loved how he said he had asked the Lord for forgiveness & the Lord had forgiven him. Oh ok then!

Yes, he hesistated when they told him Ashley Madison was still running. Bet he's signed up already 😄 He also admitted he came onto a couple of the wife's friends. I guess she took him back so they could continue acting out their more lucrative fantasy family life. Interesting that he said he loved the attention from cheating and then got the same validation from running the vlogging/youtube stuff. Bit of an insight into the mindset of these attention seekers. Obviously staged the 'dad found out first that wife was pregnant' as that would mean she did not flush to loo which would not add up to their 'perfect family' life.

Thought that the CEO's wife looked haunted - probably knew he was lying when wheeling her out on chat shows and claiming he was faithful.

Funny that most men were chatting to 'hot' bots and people in the office not real women 😂

SabreIsMyFave · 17/05/2024 17:04

I have seen all 3 episodes now! As has been said, it could have been done in 2 episodes as they repeated themselves quite a bit. Interesting viewing though.

That vlogger guy (Sam) is such a creep! I mean he is nice to look at (and his wife - Nia - is cute af!) But what a dick. As has been said, blaming the website for his misdemeanours and wrongdoings! And the fake tears, and crying, and being soooo upset and soooo sad 😢Just fuck right off mate! His poor POOR wife. How - and why the fuck did she take him back?

I don't think he went with anyone on the website; in fact I don't think many men did, and that is probably because it's was over 99% MEN on there. 😆 I googled about this earlier, and one article said only 1 in 4000 members were women!!! As has been said, many of the 'women' that men were talking to were bots, or Ashley Madison staff members.

But yeah anyway, he very likely didn't go with anyone on the website - but he did go to strip clubs, and from what I understood - escorts and prostitutes too. Presented as this perfect family guy with the cute wife and kids, and the funny little Disney videos on their youtube page. When all along, he is a cheating, lying, piece of shit. And as for 'God has forgiven me!' LOL, how do you know?! I bet God thinks you're a twat mate!

I don't feel a SHRED of pity for these men, and the fact that all the details got leaked, and their marriages went tits up. When it happened 8-9 years ago, I laughed my tits off. All these men blaming the website for the marriage problems they have now because they've been rumbled! No mate, you signing up to a website in the hope of fucking another women is the reason your marriage is in the shitter. And there must have been issues before, for you to stray.

Fucking dogs! Hmm

Actually, that is an insult to our lovely 4-legged doggo friends. I would say pigs, but that's an insult to pigs! So I'll just say WANKERS!

Most men are total shits really aren't they?!

virgocatlover · 17/05/2024 20:05

I remember when Sam and Nia were in the news for the pregnancy test video, and thought it was a load of BS. So set up to grow their channel / brand and it worked. It was hilarious when it came out that he was on AM and not as squeaky clean as they liked to make out. At the start he tried to say AM is what caused him to think about straying, but then he admitted he had been going to massage parlours, strip clubs etc even before he was on the website. He came across as a very weak and pathetic man who wanted to blame everything else for his own actions, and then turn on the waterworks /crocodile tears for sympathy.

Ireolu · 17/05/2024 20:53

The Christian bloggers are bizarre. I found him pathetic and wouldn't be surprised if he is still cheating on her now. Signed up cos he was bored at work and saw an advert. But also tried to get with her friends and used massage parlours and saunas. Hope she sees the light. Grim man.

Sleepismyfavourite · 17/05/2024 21:28

I agree that this programme makes me despair of men. I have no sympathy for any of them either. Hearing the stories reminded me of some of the threads on the relationships board here! But that Sam was particularly bad with his crocodile tears & his inability to take any of the blame. I agree that he is a real creep & actually all the perfect family vlogging is nauseating. Initially I felt sorry for Nia & was disappointed that she took him back but now I wonder if she’s a bit deluded herself having bought in to some sort of bullshit fairy tale about relationships & reluctant to give up the perfect family image.

Just seen on their YouTube channel that Sam & Nia have four kids now! One thing I think is weird is would they have put the caption on their video ‘good looking parents sing Frozen’? Seems a bit arrogant to describe yourselves as good looking.

Hmmm yeah. As I said I do feel sorry for her, but I also feel that you could be right that she's deluded - and is desperate for the perfect family image to continue, (and desperate to not let it go.)

Sadly, there are some women who, no matter how shitty their husbands behave, still stay with them. Better than being alone for some women, or God FORBID, getting divorced! Shock (Especially if you're a Christian!)

I feel like she is letting him get away with anything and everything, and is forgiving him because it's the 'Christian' thing to do. And, after all, GOD forgave him! 🙄

I also remember seeing the 'Love Is An Open Door' video about a decade ago, and seeing 'Good Looking Parents Sing Frozen' as the title. But I didn't realise (at the time,) that this was on their own channel and that they made up that title! 😆 LOL, arrogant much?!

(Oh, and yes, they DO have 4 kids now! I wonder if they had ant of them after she found out about his cheating and shitty behaviour?!)

Portfun24 · 17/05/2024 22:18

I binged it last night, absolutely mental.

As for my last paragraph on that post. ^

That should say ANY not ANT lol!

I felt so sorry for the woman whose husband committed suicide - the one who was a pastor. She had had suspicions I think but had let it go, but it must have been such a shock and she seemed a brave person.

I hadn't realised they never caught the hacker, but it was interesting how they worked out it was most likely an individual even though it was called The Impact Team.

Yes it was called The Impact Team. Weird as it wasn't a 'team!'

Watched today.
The bloggers were so bloody creepy, even before all the shit came out. Agree with pp the pregnancy test was so creepy, so violating.

Imagine they did the show for more views.
I really, really hope she cheats on him. Preferably with someone who has more followers.

I always thought the only women on the site would be sex workers and bots, and probably a few wives trying to catch their husbands.

Namechangeywangeyhangey · 20/05/2024 06:42

How was the pregnancy test even possible? Did she leave her wee in the toilet?! Even then wouldn't it be diluted? To be honest the fact they filmed that Disney video several times so they could get it right, while their poor kid is stuck bored as anything in the back, and the dad keeps taking his eyes off the bloody road, tells you all you need to know about them.

I felt so sorry for the Pastors wife and the Pastor as well, being driven to take his own life is a terribly sad thing.

MrsDTucker · 20/05/2024 18:57

I remember this. Just watched it too.

That couple really wound me up!!

slavetoloverhythm · 20/05/2024 21:21

that 'christian' is no different to many of them, do whatever te eff they want and its ok becaouse god forgives them. no doubt pastor bo dauster who 'counselled' them is no different, i grew up in churches like that and they are all like it, men have all the power, and the leaders and 'elders' of the church wield almost as much power as god herself, no wonder his poor subservient wife forgave him, the counselling is set up precisely to keep the women serving their husbands.

the ceo's wife did look awful and haunted and unhappy, looked so much like one of my friends before she divorced her abusive husband.
was a good watch but sad as there were so many cliched men in it

PacmanIsLost · 20/05/2024 22:16

I completely agree as to how creepy and sleazy the vlogger man was. But she says something really telling and sad when they had their marriage counselling (with their pastor ffs, hardly unbiased) that she wanted someone to be on her side. Seems like her own church already bad an agenda for their marriage.
