This will be my 12th Doctor. I’m a big Doctor Who fan. Happy memories of Sat with my dad watching cyber men and darleks.
But what the hell has happened? I’ve just finished, well I managed 25 mins, before I couldn’t take it anymore the 1st episode with the new Doctor and sidekick. Awful acting with a ludicrous plot (yes I know it’s fantasy) but it’s never been this stupid. Can’t help but think the BBC aren’t bothered and think they can put out anything and we’ll watch. Russell T Davies should have his pens taken off him and spare us anymore pain.

I can’t be the only Doctor Who fan who thinks like this. Absolutely Gutted 😞

Am recording it right now, as me and DH are watching The Green Mile from the other night. I have only seen bad things so far on Twitter about it. Including the laughable and predictable wokeness/someone calling themselves 'them/they' within a few minutes of the show starting. So I suspect I will be switching it off pretty quickly, and not watching it again.

I'm 45 and was always a huge Doctor Who fan growing up, but I've made my peace with the fact I'm really not the target audience any more. I quite like the Eccleston and Tennant series but really lost interest after that.

I think the pronoun thing worked in the context of this particular villain.

I don't think Dua Lipa has an intensely annoying voice that could cut glass has she?! 😆

It did make me chuckle as a reference.

The stories were okay, I expect the actors will settle into their roles.

But OMG what the hell was that song and dance routine doing in there??!! 😮😡😡

It was just about forgivable to have a song in the Christmas episode, but Dr, Who is not, and never has been, a musical. I will be crushingly disappointed if they keep doing song and dance numbers.
Please, no more.

So, so, so disappointed at the new dr who. Its more like Glee these days. Horrible. Terrible acting. Terrible storyline. Maybe they'll get more money by Americanising it!! Otherwise, I don't know what they're thinking.

I think it was fabulous. I'm in my 70s and have watched from the Start.

I think the new Doctor is vv charismatic and Ruby is very good too.

I watched both episodes and loved them both, I their different ways.

Thought the first one with the space babies was a bit meh, but absolutely loved the second one!
The villain was brilliant.
Also loving Ncuti as the Doctor.

Turned off the first one, but I will try the second episode.

I love the new doctor but the story was terrible. Quite disappointed.

Loved the actors but got bored

I like Ruby. Sorry she's not staying and dreading who will replace her it'l be Rose version 2.

I had hoped it would be better than the Jodie era, but no.

I’m a huge Who fan. What a load of crap. Reminds me of the slyvester McCoy era when it was cancelled daft plots. I remember the Bertie Bassett type character. It was massively overacted. It was seriously aimed at an American audience. The musical sequence was dire. It’s Dr Who not Glee

That's your opinion though, I'm a fan of the old episodes but love these new ones too.
Didn't like the first space babies one as much, but thought the second episode was brilliant.
Loved the villain

DH keeps telling me all the reviews of the second episode were mostly positive - but overacted is about right - the villain was fine to overact but everyone seemed to be as well. I think it just looks good in comparison to first one.

I think I'm going to be stuck watching the season though - as DH likes to have us all watch it and there little we all watch together these days. I thought I went in with low expectations but somehow not low enough.

Completely agree. Three generations watched here: switched over half way through.
