For me, this was one of the best AJLT episodes!
I loved Carrie's dress in the first scene, Seema and the firefighter scene, Miranda and Mary, Miranda and Brady's babysitter and I've loved practically everything that Anthony has said and done in all of AJLT!

I can't believe Carrie is actually waiting for Aidan - one or both of them could be dead in 5 years time! After losing Big, I would have thought that she'd think life's too short to wait around for a man for 5 years. Would have loved for her to have got with the teacher from the last series. He was funny and lovely and I think she didn't give him a proper chance... she never seems to pick the good'uns.

I'm also questioning why Miranda is in an airbnb when Carrie is living by herself in a 4 bedroom townhouse... I also missed Nya in this episode.

I haven't missed Che, although I never thought she was that bad a character. I just really hated how Miranda was when she was with Che. She was like a shadow of her former formidable self. Also is Miranda gay or bisexual now?

I didn't enjoy the Seema and Ravi break up scene. For me, that was worse than Aiden's palm licking and wanking (sorry to bring that up!). Seema thought Ravi was potentially the love of her life and then suddenly she's had a bad day so she's breaking up with him... that didn't ring true for me somehow.

Bring on episode 2! I wonder if they'll be another Samantha cameo in this series? Also, I'd love Charlotte to bump into Trey!

I’ve just watched ep1, it was like a fever dream, what with the dog storyline, then at one point there was a musical scene, or did I dream that bit? The horniest thing about Aiden’s time out in his truck was the actual horn noise 🤢

Can we take a moment to acknowledge the cat actor, who was very cute indeed (side note: is the cat causing the kitchen door alarm to trigger?). I’ll stick with it though, so here’s hoping we’re rewarded for our efforts with another sighting of the wisteria on Carrie’s mansion, as that really was lovely and left more of an impression on me than ‘the hat’.

I'm pretty sure the cat (I think she's called Shoe) was with Carrie one of the times the alarm went off, so I don't think it's her.

Nya and Che have not been commissioned for this series. I think someone on here said last year that the Nya actress was filming something else. I loved her and hope she comes back if there’s a series 4. Che I found difficult to watch.
I agree that Carrie would have the ‘life’s too short’ attitude but then she was trying to let go of expectation at the last supper so will see. As this iis early on in the 5 years I don’t think she will wait.

Karen Pittman’s got a lead role in the Morning Show, and filming clashed. She gets a lot more to do in that!

I have just rewatched S3 Ep1 and actually I think it’s a return to form. I have been hate-watching AJLT like most of us but on rewatching (and fast forwarding the phone sex scene) it actually felt very SATC. I was never a fan of Aidan so the phone sex scene was awful but lead to a very SATC convo in the Red Rooster for Carrie, Miranda and Charlotte.

I love LTW and her storylines were all great. Seema is fabulous and glad she dumped her man as she’s a better character single. I love that Carrie is so rich that her full time hobby at the moment is decorating her massive NY home - my dream life! Agree with others that I’d love to see more Harry, he’s so lovely and a good actor.

Anyone who hasn’t watched yet - skip the Aidan truck scene and I think you’ll enjoy it more 😂

What's wrong with having Seema smoking? It's not like this show is being watched by anyone it would influence to start and its realistic, some people do still smoke! I found it quite refreshing. Even Carrie was still having the odd cheeky weekly cigarette with her in one of the last seasons.

The dog storyline was really quite shit. They are giving 0 storylines with any depth to Charlotte. There needs to be a serious one for her at some point.

Harry is an absolutely amazing actor. Loved him in Californication and his smaller role in studio 60. They do not utilise him enough either.

I like LTW but she gets so much screen time. Are we going to see Brady and Steve in this season??

Not sure anything wrong with having her be a smoker. I think someone just said she looks like she stinks of fags. Made me laugh anyway!

Seema absolutely does not look like she stinks of fags, IMO. She mostly looks great, and at least the actress can move her face.

Nice to see at least one character with self respect who works for her money, given all the other three are busy bending over for their love interests!

They do, but she doesn't look like she does, any more than Carrie ever looked like she'd be smelly.

No carrie never had nicotine stained fingers or fag breath like a lot of long term smokers.

People find smoking very antisocial so it's changed the environment it was normal in the late 90,s and carrie smoked all the time

Off topic but there’s a snippet of an interview with SJP on Instagram where she explains that in all her contracts, SATC included, it’s written that she keeps the outfits. So she is the guardian of the Carrie archive.

I liked SJPs wardrobe in "Divorce" much better but then I don't like girly clothes, though of course she carries them off wonderfully.

Stinks of Fags. 😂 people can also stink of BO, damp clothes, bad breath from bad dental hygiene... but beside the point.. the character does not look like she smells. The issue a previous poster brought up was with her being shown as a smoker.

I think Seema has a husky voice too so she seems to embody the part of a smoker. Maybe she smokes irl.

All smokers smell though, so that’s a given. Whether someone has BO/bad breath etc on top of that, obviously you can’t tell by looking, but you know a smoker smells.

As an ex car dealer, I worry for the s class Mercedes she smokes in 😂 Absolutely kills the secondhand value because there is nothing that removes the smell from a car. You can mask it for about half an hour but it never goes.

plus smoking in a car (as a former child of the 70’s) i find that depiction what the young people call triggering as I recall both parents smoking whilst the windows were not undone…😱
