Agree with others that Kristin Davies acting isn’t brillant . The only other thing I have seen her in was a pretty dreadful romantic comedy where she was a vet , working in Africa I think . Was pretty sure .
Not sure I am gripped by the storyline . Am watching it for nostalgia , the fashion and also the amazing properties really .
just checked and Carrie’s new house is in Grammarcy Park and would cost about $4-5 million ! I think she bought the large property as the hope was that Aiden and his kids ( at least some of the time ) would also be living there .

Agree Cynthia Nixon and SJP are the best actors . Also like the actors who play Lisa , her husband and Nya .

i think as has been discussed before they do under utilise the male characters - Steve , Harry etc who are great actors .
Too much of Aiden and found the phone sex scenes so cringey . I do think it is good to show that women in their 40/50 s plus can lead a full sexually active lifestyle , as most romantic films etc so focus on younger people .

It’s fair only if both platforms are showing at similar times. If I recall Sky showed at 8am but Now TV was a lot later last season? Anyway, we’ve got a solution of putting spoiler then a gap so no one has it spoiled via their feed early on a Friday morning 😉

Other thoughts - why is Anthony now best buddies with Carrie rather than Charlotte ? Seems like they are shoe horning in a gay best friend for her .

Carrie - whilst I preferred Aiden over Mr Big in SATC I don’t really rate his character in AJLT now . The teacher and the producer in earlier series were much better . Could we bring back the politician , Alexander. The most attractive character from SATC days was the saxophonist. The actor appeared in a recent episode of Grays Anatomy. Miranda - loved Dolly Wells - but she was only in 1 episode . Can’t think who else - have a massive girl crush on Eva Mendes or what about Hannah Waddingham ? Sarah Paulson ?

Now subscriber of a few years here. Last season was definitely dropped early morning, same as this series.

I thought the tourist trap mortification was very accurate for people living in a big city. Years ago family friends were in the country and kindly invited me to dinner with them. They chose the Angus Steakhouse on Leicester Square. It was very generous of them, so lovely to see them but I was mortified about going to such a 'just for the tourists' spot, like I'd have my Londoner badge revoked or something!

Would love to see Jon Slattery return but as was pointed out in the last thread he liked a golden shower (like a certain president allegedly). Deffo agree the teacher and the producer were better matches.

Just watched it. Could’ve done without Aidan wanking. The licking his hand nearly made me heave.

Could happily see no more of Charlotte’s awful daughters. And her storyline seemed somewhat ‘any old crap to give her a few scenes’. Her acting has not improved either.

I’m not keen on Miranda being a lesbian, but I liked the addition of Rosie O’Donnell.

The Lisa character - still can’t see the point of her. Her necklace was beyond ridiculous.

I think only watch it for Carrie’s storylines, clothes and house tbh.

@PorgyandBess ha ha - I so agree - if I was writing it I would have more Harry - he’s a very good actor - I would also have more interaction with the new characters with Carrie and Miranda- you know meeting them for coffee or lunch etc - as it is they seem to be quite separate so it doesn’t quite gel - I would also have Miranda meeting a fantastic bloke or blokes - nothing against lesbians at all but think it would give a twist to the storyline. I would probably also give Carrie a new column or something so she can get back to tapping out her life statements on the MAC again regularly - a bit more continuity from the old SATC and much as I always loved Aidan and always fancied the actor - I don’t think this will work - I’m dreading getting more wanking scenes!!

WHY is she back with Aidan? He always ended up giving her the ick. He was always weird and controlling and guess what- he still is. When she said last season that finishing with him was a ‘terrible mistake’ I couldn’t believe my ears. Big was always the love of her life. Terrible writing and continuity- as if she’d be shagging bloody second rate Aiden in the house she bought with Bigs money and then ruining the memories of Big by telling people Aiden is her great love- WTF?

My eyes are burning from that bloody awful phone sex scene- cringe cringe cringe. Can Aiden please depart now.

I can't actually remember if she was writing in the last series or it was just a podcast.

At the start Carrie left the house without saying goodbye to Shoe! Who does that!

She had written a book in the last series about losing Big and the publishers wanted a hopeful ending so they encouraged her to date and that’s how she messaged Aiden. I agree Franklin was the business and the reason they fell apart was because he wanted more than a weekly secret shag. Crime of the century. I too was shocked when she said she made a mistake. I’m guessing she meant way back when she cheated on Aiden but it still felt disrespectful to her life with Big.

The image of Aiden licking his fingers before diving in for a car wank just won’t go away.

You can just tell that scene was written by a man.

This is always my problem with this show and SATC, male writers who get it wrong. Like Charlotte being a shrieking housewife and Miranda falling for Che.

They really did their audience dirty when Carrie said Aidan was the love of her life, not Big. What have we been watching all these years then? That was the main premise of the show, Carrie always wanting Big but never getting what she wanted from him. Aidan was always second best.

That van scene has just given the ick to every single viewer. I feel sorry for Carrie, she needs to be rescued.

Seema is gorgeous but every time I see her I just think she must stink of fags.
