Stuck in an anxiety spiral and looking for a really gentle tv drama show, I like Shetland and whitstable Pearl but stuck at something else. Even a film would help.

Any ideas? Thanks very much. Anxiety is shit.

I’ve been re watching good night sweetheart on itv x it’s so nostalgic, I love it

Bertiebadgers · 25/04/2024 12:38

Just to say I’ve been watching McDonalds & Dodds on recommendation of this thread. It took a while for me to get in to it but I’m loving it, it’s just perfect. DP’s family are from Bath so I recognise a lot of the landmarks. Fully recommend to others.

Mrsjayy · 25/04/2024 12:56

@Bertiebadgers I'm glad you liked it, it did take me a bit to get into it but I love it and it fitted into that Sunday evening slot perfectly.

Kim's Convenience on Netflix. We all love it (including the two teens). Only have a few episodes to go and nobody wants it to come to an end.

I'm a big Detectorists fan. Shows similar, in that they are gently about vulnerable human relationships:
Car Share
Gavin and Stacey
Afterlife (but stay away if you have recently been bereaved)
Ted Lasso (Apple TV).

I'm back on more solid ground now but wanted to say massive thanks for all of these.

Call the midwife is my gentle tv watch. It makes me feel like all is well with the world.

Emily in Paris is delightful nonsense. Lovely clothes, handsome men, beautiful scenery and silly stories.

Just finished this as it’s ridiculous but so pretty to watch and takes up zero brain power. I loved it 😊

Love this thread!

xSideshowAuntSallyx · 26/04/2024 16:57

Rosemary and Thyme, lovely cosy murders with a bit of gardening thrown in for good measure.
