The boys were lucky there

How did they get to the port so quickly? I thought they were stuck in Kobe

Jellykat · 17/04/2024 21:37

The guy in the cafe/ shop booked them an online ticket for the bus...

RadoxMoon · 17/04/2024 21:38

Ah, I thought it was the boat he booked them on.

Jellykat · 17/04/2024 21:39

Grin maybe it was a boat (v tired)

SwedishEdith · 17/04/2024 21:39

Busan looks amazing. I know lots of others don't seem to but I do love the young lads though. That puppy enthusiasm.

Elebag · 17/04/2024 21:40

Why is the checkpoint in Sokcho? Are they going to get a boat all the way south to China / Philippines?

Jellykat · 17/04/2024 21:43

Penis park 😂fab

I like them too.

CaptainMyCaptain · 17/04/2024 21:55

None of the places so far appeal to me. I don't like big busy cities full of skyscrapers I preferred the wilderness in Canada.

RadoxMoon · 17/04/2024 21:58

I think some of South Korea looks stunning (though wouldn’t fancy Seoul). Japan didn’t appeal at all.

CaptainMyCaptain · 17/04/2024 22:01

The chestnut picking scene came just after I last posted - that's more my thing.

OutOfTheHouse · 17/04/2024 22:06

Isobel and Eugenie have done so well! I was amazed at how much they earned at the fish market. I love how organised Isobel is.

MrJollyLivesNextDoor · 17/04/2024 22:11

I'm behind and the boys are at the penis park 😂😂 brilliant

purser25 · 17/04/2024 22:14

Funnily enough non of the places have appealed to me. But I love watching it just don’t want to go to any of the places yet. So two groups have lost their map.

OutOfTheHouse · 17/04/2024 22:20

Steve is a sodding embarrassment. Pushing to the front of the queue because he’s in a hurry.

Riverlee · 17/04/2024 22:22

I’m not booking the next flight to Japan or Korea either, although do find it fascinating to watch.

I really thought the mum/Bridie duo would do better. They seemed more switched on as a team.

The older couple seem to be bumbling along, taking the longest, route and then coming fourth. However, I think their strategy is to earn money, and then use this for quicker /more comfortable transport.

We don’t seemed to have had the fifteen hour coach journeys like in previous series yet.

burnoutbabe · 17/04/2024 22:27

You get 36 hours at each checkpoint I think?

So arrive 2pm and leave 2am. Bit useless. The chaps 4 hours behind therefore leave 6am which is a much more reasonable time to get started/ when public transport starts.

Who are the other group to lose their map? I know the two lads did

Isobel and her mum. It was right at the start of the episode.

Isobel and her mum. It was right at the start of the episode.

Thank you. I missed the first couple of minutes so didn’t see it. Surprised it’s them, as they seem ultra organised.

Cardinalita90 · 17/04/2024 22:58

Struggling to see how Bridie and her mum can make the gap up to avoid elimination in the next leg. Only way would surely be taxis/expensive fast transport but not sure how appealing this will be to them given they pride themselves on getting by on very little!

BoredAuditor · 17/04/2024 23:08

Alfie and Owen are growing on me.

There have been instances, I think, previously of teams not meeting at checkpoints due to lateness (so 36 hours plus) and them catching up later. Especially as it looks like a monsoon has hit in the next leg it may even out the headstarts with the late comers.

I really like Bridie and Sharon but I think Steve and his wife will make more entertaining viewing...

HoHoHoliday · 18/04/2024 00:01

Are they not allowed to buy a new map? Surely if it comes out of the budget it couldn't be a problem.

I'm really enjoying this series, way more than the Canada one! But, maybe because it's early and there are a lot of them, there seems to be big jumps/missing continuity. Like, in episode 1, the two boys were frustrated because they had to go back on themselves and restart the journey, but next minute they have got the train they needed and were racing to second place. I couldn't work out how they caught up.

Newestname002 · 18/04/2024 00:26

The next segment, the last team gets eliminated 🌹

BeaLola · 18/04/2024 00:46

Yes I'm surprised they've not bought a new map - would seem logical , although the two boys seemed to know where places are so perhaps they just "borrow" the camera teams map ?

I did warm to the 2 boys more especially hearing how I've of them grew up with his Grandma and obey was tightish.

I think Sharon and Byrdie will catch up because as has been mentioned already sibetines being first and leaving at 2am isn't that helpful.

Steve - hmm was wiling him to fall off a ladder thatching (not really but he is annoying !!!). Mind you my DH was wondering if Steve as her husband no 3 had overlapped with her husband no 2 - he also bc wondered if he had so many jobs because he got fired a lot (due to be annoying) ?
