3 Body Problem -anyone watching?

On episode 3 and enjoying it so far. Maybe a bit slow but I feel like it’s building up big time. Not 100% sure what’s going on. Waiting for the aliens to turn up.

@SalGoodwoman Is there a version of the Chinese one with decent subtitles available? I tried watching this when it first came out and could tell it was excellent but the subtitles were I think auto generated and were terrible so I had to stop watching.

@Trisolaris Google led me to this YouTube version, which I thought was very decent https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=_HJVhC80vIE&pp=ygUG5LiJ5L2T they have song lyrics song the side (in Chinese), a bit confusing at first, I thought I was missing something!

Very close to the book so far.

Not sure about YouTube but they are still on Amazon Prime if you have it. The YouTube version keeps disappearing - probably copyright issues.

I agree the captions seem generated. I don't speak any Chinese language so the auto gen captions probably grate less than they would for a speaker. I'm only part way through the new version but the Chinese language version was pretty close to the original. That said, I'm also enjoying the new version so far.

Omg. This was the one silver lining to being ill. I pretty much binged the whole thing in a day. It’s INCREDiBlE.

I just ordered all the books. I can’t wait for them to film a season 2

@Gymnoob yes, or with AI! How dangerous that kind of thinking is and how the "followers" were like a cult.

My dh has just binged this and really enjoyed it. He said it was the most thought provoking thing he's watched for a while, and not just light bubble gum.

It's amazing but apparently not necessarily going to be a season 2!

If you mean the “alien” comment did you not see the trailers? It was pretty obvious from the trailers that there was an alien element to this.

I’ve finished it all now, really enjoyed it. There needs to be a season two!

There definitely needs to be a Season 2! Though, Netflix is notorious for cancelling rather than allowing Series to be a slow burn.
I do think aliens in Sci-Fi is hardly a spoiler!

Just started. Engrossing and mystifying!

I read the books a few years ago, and mostly enjoyed them. Some really fascinating parts, but some I though was two draw out. As a few other reviewers have stated it was considered "unfilmable", so I did not know what to expect. I'm very pleasantly surprised so far (3 espisodes).

It's interesting to see several strong female characters in science based areas, so an extra plus for me.

I’ve just finished this and absolutely bloody loved it. It really made me cry too, won’t give a spoiler but, gosh.

I've just finished it - I loved it. But OMG that boat scene...

I watched this thinking it was a limited series and would therefore conclude properly. Hate having to wait for a second series!
