(Yeah I know i'm early but I just couldn't help it)

OP posts:

I reckon she told him that if he did, she would come after him and snip off his tiny little pink cojones
Every week someone does something really unedifying. Lee bellowing at poor old Sara really didn't help
And how many more berets does Lucinda have to look rueful in?

mrsshackleton · 01/05/2008 11:06

God, they are a nasty bunch
The only people emerging as half-way OK are Raef and Lucinda
He was a star standing up for Sara, though she should have made a bit more effort standing up for herself - she's lost in that shark pit. And I loved his navy pyjamas - he's hilarious! Does he really have loads of single parent friends
Lee, who was previously coming across as OK, revealed himself to be a bullying arse
The stupidity and cowardice of them all to turn on Sara rather than recognise that the environment idea was ludicrous. They're all terrified of that bulldozer Jenny, it's terrifying to watch a group mentality that scapegoats the weak and licks up to the loud and nasty. Yuk
margaret is a goddess

cyteen · 01/05/2008 11:13

Yeah, I was quite shocked at Lee - he seemed quite normal before, where did all that vitriol come from? I think they must all have been sitting around slagging Sara off while they waited for the boardroom crew to come back.

Jenny is a nasty piece of work - I wouldn't employ her if I'd seen her performance on this show.

DoubleBluff · 01/05/2008 11:17

Ireally liked Lee up until that point.
Rafe is my fave and do lik eLucinda as she is the only girl that hasn't stooped to bitch and back stab. Not keen on her headwear though.

MargaretMountford · 01/05/2008 11:17

dh thinks they are all so nasty that he won't watch anymore...I was very disappointed in Lee, so great last week launching that attack on Sara...but Raef went up in my estimation. And how fab is Margaret ? [preening emoticon]

DoubleBluff · 01/05/2008 11:17

Is jenny Jimmy Hill's love child?

MargaretMountford · 01/05/2008 11:18

there was meant to be a comma after...so great last week,
they should have posted on Pedants corner to sort out their apostrophe !

MargaretMountford · 01/05/2008 11:19

oh and Alex is such a twat in his horrid hat

cyteen · 01/05/2008 11:20

I think Lee and Lucinda have got a mutual work crush going on.

CatIsSleepy · 01/05/2008 11:21

yes I don't like Lee as much any more either!
like Raef more than I did-he's a gent...
poor old Sara, she looked like a rabbit caught in the headlights most of the time
hatchet-faced Jenny is just dreadful-Kev should have brought her into the boardroom then she might have got the push instead. He was a complete idiot for bringing Sara in.
Well he was a complete idiot for alot of things...

catsmother · 01/05/2008 11:23

DP & I were sat with mouths dropped open last night about Sara. It was like something out of Lord of the Flies where they all turn on the quietest, weakest, person. The boardroom was bad enough and very unfair, though turning tail has been seen before when people's necks are on the line but then, back at the house, for everyone else to start on her was shocking. I don't know what his name is but that yobby geezer bloke shouting at her was really nasty.

That team lost last night because a) it was a crap idea and b) it was made worse by crap pitches. It was Jenny's idea and "Daffyd's" pitch. To blame Sara for not having a better idea was extremely hypocritical ....... she suggested Eid cards (and another festival I can't remember) for example. Where was Alex's great idea, where was Daffyd's, where was Clare's ?? Where was Jenny's ? ...... oh yes, green cards ........ that was a wonderful idea wasn't it ? Okay, Sara wasn't a shining star last night and I think she probably is too timid to get much further but she didn't actually do anything wrong.

Given that for the duration of the Apprentice, these people are effectively colleagues, the behaviour of most of them last night was also very unprofessional. No matter what your personal feelings towards someone at work, most adults would get on with it and be civil. It must be very hard day to day living with people like that who would so readily attack someone for someone else's decision.

Here is a spoiler for next week ...........................................................

Apparently, TWO women get fired next week for CHEATING. In Marrakech, they have to buy 10 items as cheaply as possible and these two bribe a stallholder NOT to deal with the other team. Am guessing that they maybe sold a hard-to-find item ? Sir Alan finds out and is incandescent with rage.

I wonder who it will be ? Jenny and Clare I hope.

VictorianSqualor · 01/05/2008 11:50

What i want to know is how they find these people.

I sat there last night and said 'duh, environment crads arent exactly environmentally friendly', 'duh, who is going to buy a singles day card for themselves?' as i'm sure most people watching did!

Their ideas are always so crap!

CatIsSleepy · 01/05/2008 11:59

yeah both ideas were actually shite weren't they
my dh came up with a much better one

hey next week sounds exciting catsmother
would love to see those two booted out!

VictorianSqualor · 01/05/2008 12:04

I just think they always get too caught up in the fact that it's a challenge rather than think about it from a business POV.
They did the same with the restuarant night, the easiest thing to do would've been american or english food, cheap, quick and easy to cook, and lends itself to both lunch and dinner, yet they go totally OTT.
This weeks challenge they were more hyped up with the creating a new 'day' to celebrate than if the cards would sell at all.
I wouldn't trust them to run an icecream van let alone employ them.

MehgaLegs · 01/05/2008 12:06

When is the series filmed? I've never quite worked it out. The weather looks like last summer so surely the filming is all over and the winner decided. How is kept a secret?

Am I being really dim?

CatIsSleepy · 01/05/2008 12:11

I don't know ML but they do manage to keep it secret somehow

VS exactly they weren't thinking about who was actually going to buy or receive these cards at all were they?

dh suggested first day of school cards
I think that's quite a good idea actually...might go into business!

cyteen · 01/05/2008 12:13

CatIsSleepy, are you secretly married to my partner? He came up with that too! Maybe we should go into business together

VictorianSqualor · 01/05/2008 12:17

We said it shoudl be a childrens thing too, it's the best market for cards, though I could only think of first steps type ones, but then I have baby brain

QueenMeabhOfConnaught · 01/05/2008 12:20

First Day of school is a good idea, actually!!

MargaretMountford · 01/05/2008 12:21

what about when they've made the order (for the crappy cards) is that it ? do they just say,oh it's only for the tv programme, or do they have to get someone to fulfill the order, presumably not them. Didn't much like the cards in the You're Fired programme after ( the successful card woman) - from a design point of view, though the concept was fine.

MargaretMountford · 01/05/2008 12:23

children's ones would be great idea - baby milestones -teeth, congratulations on your chicken pox etc...first day at school. Card market is very difficult to break into as an illustrator, I know because I've tried and been turned down by everyone - even Phoenix cards !

CatIsSleepy · 01/05/2008 12:34

LOL cyteen
maybe they should both go on the Apprentice next time
(god what an awful thought)

MM I was wondering if they have to fulfil those orders...somehow I don't expect to see National Singles' day cards on the shelves next feb 13 though

RTKangaMummy · 01/05/2008 12:38

LOL

RTKangaMummy · 01/05/2008 12:39

Do people think the blokes are good looking ????????

I think Alex and Lee are not that much to look at
