Anyone been on a quiz show?

Has anyone been on a TV quiz show? I’ve been accepted to appear on one later this year. I was just wondering
1- how long after filming does it generally take to air
2- did you get paid soon after filming if you were a winner?
3- what was your experience like?

Giving this a bump, as I'm interested to know more about getting on quiz shows generally. Any top tips for being selected?

Just saw this! Make your application funny/interesting. And be prepared for lots of test quizzes- I’ve done 3 lots of auditions for my show.

I've been on a few. I won 4k on The Chase and the money comes through after 6 weeks. Filmed in May 2019 and it aired in March 2020 but this varies massively as they don't show them in the order they were shot, they space out the wins. I had a great experience, and Bradley is an absolute dream :-) any other questions just ask x

Is it terrifying on the day? I’m so scared I panic once in actually there!

I would love to go on Tipping Point but I’m too scared. I love Ben Shepherd, he’s so cool at presenting that show.

If you like Podcasts there was an episode of The Rest is Entertainment, co-hosted by Richard Osman which explored this very topic, i'll see if I can link the episode.

He had some tips for getting selected, and kinda went into a little bit of what to expect. It was really interesting even though i've no intention of applying for anything myself! He has said a couple of times on the podcast that they really look after the contestants so you have a great day. Although he said if you are playing for one of the big money ones its obviously a stressful situation for contestants, but you get looked after.

Re getting selected he said you need to have something interesting about yourself, eg your job, hobby, etc. And in the audition don't get every question right, or wrong.

I'm probably not doing his advice justice though so listen to the podcast!

Good luck and come back and tell us your experience

Old thread sorry but does anyone know which one this was?
