Score watching Ostapenko/Kerber- very close match there, which would be a good one to watch. 5-5in the first set.

Oh- they are just showing that.

but only because they want it to finish so Muraay can play Hmm.

Raahh · 08/03/2024 20:09

First set Jannik.

Raahh · 08/03/2024 20:11

Why would it be tempting to put Murray on centre court? It's IW, not Wimbledon Hmm.
Wouldn't they be more likely to schedule Americans?

Raahh · 08/03/2024 20:18

Sinner is not messing about, maybe he wants to get out of the sun Grin.

Thanasi seems to have given up a little bit.

Raahh · 08/03/2024 20:20

oops- don't be whacking balls about.

This could be over a bit swiftly now.

I'd like to see the Iga match- but I've a feeling they aren't planning to show it. (unless Angie stages a comeback).

JaneJeffer · 08/03/2024 20:59

No, Jane they dont'!
That was Ice, Raahh Grin

I haven't got to see any yet. I didn't realise Andy is playing Andrey, that'll be interesting!

Great win for Angie Kerber.

kazzaD66 · 08/03/2024 22:03

Yes, just looked at the scores and saw Kerber had won from a set down, so good result. I'm afraid I don't like Ostapenko Hmm

kazzaD66 · 08/03/2024 22:08

Saw on ATP Instagram that Fraser Macknight won the best actor award, thankfully beating Bert Critchley! He thanked God in his acceptance speech Grin
Andy also nominated Kim as his female hero on International Women's Day, for supporting him and raising 4 children. Most of them nominated their mum Grin

JaneJeffer · 08/03/2024 22:22

An old clip came up somewhere of Naomi Osaka speaking about Andy and how good he was to her on tour and checking she was ok when she was having all her problems. He is a good human person.

I'm really happy for Angie but I do like Jelena because she's a one-off!

Ben has beaten Jakub. Lovely moment at the net and Jakub got a great cheer as he walked off.

Carlos and Matteo getting the giggles over latecomers being shooed to their seats by Mo

I've just been score watching- that's lovely.about Ben Jane. I think Jakub has a big future head and has already made a massive leap in a short time.

I saw the result of the Angie match ( had to go out before it ended) - I am very pleased for her. I don't mind Jelena. I was annoyed when listening to the commentary- they mentioned 5 matches being played featuring slam players across the courts ( including Ostapenko and Wozniacki). Completely ignored Kerber in that!

Well done Fraser, richly deservedGrin

I should be asleep but I am in a stupor. Carlos seems to be off form.

Just saw a lovely picture of Jannik from a couple of days ago, of him playing with a football with Rafa Jnr. He seems to have have charmed everyone Grin.

I think Rafa can happily retire and let his son make personal appearances on his behalf for now. No-one will care about the tennis Grin.

Fizzywinegum · 09/03/2024 09:51

Grin Baby Rafa is very cute

I haven’t seen any IW tennis yet - I’m still sulking about Rafa not playing and also confused about the timings - hopefully I’ll get to see some soon

I had the exact same thoughts about Andy Murray Jane - he is a good human person!

JaneJeffer · 09/03/2024 13:22

There was some lovely (albeit stalkery) footage of the Nadals at the airport and Rafa and Xisca being all cuddly.

I saw that as well Jane 👀 - it was sweet when They put their arms round each other - they look very happy with Baby Rafa - he looks as if he’s got a lot of energy Grin - I loved watching him play football with Jannik Smile

He is a little boy who isn't shy of going after what he wants- it was very cute to watch- the ball looked huge, but he gave it a good kick. it was lovely of Jannik to join in.

Rafa jnr had the chance to play football, before he chose to stick with tennis- sport must run in his genes Grin.

JaneJeffer · 09/03/2024 16:09

I was amazed how little Rafa kept his eyes on the tennis ball and when it went behind him he followed it all the way around without letting it out of his sight!

Rafa's uncle Miguel Ángel was a famous footballer too so it's definitely in his genes Grin

Raahh · 09/03/2024 16:14

Oh yes, Jane!- he's destined to play something, really, isn't he?

Maybe 'Uncle' Jannik can teach him to ski Grin.

I have been looking at the schedule trying to second guess what they might show today-

The first match on the main court at 7pm, is Gauff, they could show that one. I would love them to show Raonic/Rune- but that is doubtful because the Raducanu match is on the 3rd court- so no doubt we will end up with that. Or Sonego /Norris no court 4. Not a fan of Norris- but I do love to watch Lorenzo ( and he is everywhere at the momentGrin).

kazzaD66 · 09/03/2024 18:41

Where are all these photos.....??

Left DH shouting and swearing at the tv to prep dinner. He's just strolled in a happy bunny now though Hmm
Sorry Jane Grin
