Wow. Well done Danielle!

JaneJeffer · 30/03/2024 21:11

Nice retirement cheque Grin

Jane isn't it just! Grin

Raahh · 30/03/2024 21:17

Has she still got a ball stuffed up her skirt? They might want that back.

Fergus will be cross.

Raahh · 30/03/2024 21:20

James Blake never ages.

JaneJeffer · 30/03/2024 21:23

Fergus probably put trackers in the balls

The trophies look pointy and dangerous

OP posts:
Raahh · 30/03/2024 21:25

She's definitely going to make off with that ball.

Or she has a very round hip.

And yes, the trophies look heavy and sharp. And not easy to put in the hand luggage.

JaneJeffer · 30/03/2024 21:26

Danielle is thanking all the people who never get thanked! The physio women look chuffed.

OP posts:
Raahh · 30/03/2024 21:28

She is making the most of her moment- so good for her.

Raahh · 30/03/2024 21:29

I had no idea who Butch is before this week (I looked him up because half the matches were played on his court) - the court is named after him, and the trophy, it seems. .

JaneJeffer · 30/03/2024 21:29

Why do they bother with ticker tape?

Why do they bother with ticker tape?

I don't know, it's not very eco friendly - and someone has to clean it up. And who thanks them!

JaneJeffer · 30/03/2024 21:32

I know nothing about Butch. Imagine calling your son Butch? Grin

OP posts:
JaneJeffer · 30/03/2024 21:33

I googled and his real name is Earl Henry which sounds very royal

OP posts:
Raahh · 30/03/2024 21:34

Imagine being some weedy kid called 'Butch' .?

(I always think of bull dogs in Tom and Jerry cartoons- they were usually called Butch).

It must be a nickname for something totally unconnected, knowing the Americans. I did google him. But I have forgotten Grin

Earl Henry, apparently.

Where do you get 'Butch' from that?

Raahh · 30/03/2024 21:35

x post Grin.

It does sound royal.

Not as Royal as Eugenie Bouchard and her siblings, who actually were all named after members of the royal family. Which is a bit odd.

JaneJeffer · 30/03/2024 21:36

His surname is Buchholz Grin That's the bit I would change. I bet he got some stick at school!

OP posts:
Raahh · 30/03/2024 21:38

I hope he was a good tennis player (I have never heard of him- I would keep his name in my back pocket for future Pointless episodes, but I'm not sure he actually won anything big).

Raahh · 30/03/2024 21:40

If these 3 don't stop yacking, they may get locked in to the stadium.

Oh, I nearly forgot the clock change.

JaneJeffer · 30/03/2024 21:41

He won the juniors at Wimbledon, French Open and Australian Open but I don't know if Pointless would ask that Grin

OP posts:
Raahh · 30/03/2024 21:41

Annoyingly, it means the Sinner match starts at 8pm, UK time, rather than 7.

I could cope with 7pm. Grin

JaneJeffer · 30/03/2024 21:42

Tomorrow night will be interesting.

No, junior tournaments don't usually get a look in.

Which is a shame. There could be quite a lot of mileage in junior tournaments. Grin

Well done Danielle - I didn’t get to see it but it’s good that she’ll be going out on a high

Miami doesn’t seem to have had many crowds - not sure why - I like James Blake but it doesn’t seem as popular as Indian Wells - I think Andy Murray is the only player who really likes the Miami tournament Grin

Happy anniversary for tomorrow Raahh champagne and pizza sound perfect (while watching the men’s final!) 🍕🥂

I’ve still bought Easter eggs for my (adult) DS’s and their girlfriends Hmm
