It’s great to see Matteo’s come back, and he had to play two back-to-back matches yesterday so his fitness must be ok!

Impressive win for Carlos over Jannik, amazing turnaround after that first set when Jannik seemed unplayable. Some incredible points in the match. Carlos will be the heavy favourite against Daniil this evening but it’s best never to count him out.

I am looking forward to this women's match- I hope it is a good one. I am blocking out my dh who is swearing a lot at the football at the other end of the room (he's a Man Utd fan).

Dh came over (having not had a heart attack whilst yelling at the match) = and i blinked and missed the fact Iga is alreadty 3-0 up.

I fear this could end up being an Iga one sided special.

Which will make me more annoyed that the men's final doesn't start til at least 9 (and will probably have more singing before it!)

Maria has definitely settled into the match - which is good.

I think this is where Iga is the opposite of Rafa- she speeds put of the blocks in matches and completely blindsides her opponents at times. Rafa has a tendency to be a bit slow to get going sometimes.

First set ended pretty quickly though.

I've just noticed Daniil is still wearing the odd trainers- but they have dark soles, so the 'hoof' ness doesn't look quite so daft as it did with the coloured/green soles.
