I watch on ITVX which gives HD quality. Would not watch on SD regularly ITV2.

Yes you can skip the ads, if you record it on a TV recorder like FREESAT.

Also, if you pay for ITVX premium, I think you get everything ad-free. £3.99 a month I think. We don't have that, we just record the shows (on FREESAT,) and skip the ad breaks. As I said, we couldn't watch them otherwise. We find the ad breaks unbearable.

THIS is it You have to have a satellite dish for this, but I think you can get TV recorder boxes that you don't need a satellite dish for.

as much as I hate ads I can't bring myself to pay

I watch through my sky box and wait till it’s about 9.20 to 9.30 and then just rewind the live program to watch from the beginning and then I can forward through the ads and then have caught up to watch in real time by the end.

Yep Sophie is coming across really rather unpleasant.

@hottchocolate It seems that TV recorder boxes that you don't need a satellite dish for are cheaper than FREESAT. Some as cheap as £40 to £50.

May be worth investing in one, and recording stuff with ads in, and then watching it later and cutting the ad breaks out. OR start watching it 15 minutes in, then you miss the vast majority of ads.

Just google freeview TV recorder boxes. There are some on Amazon.
