God Josh is annoying. he’s like some lairy uni student trying to be the loudest and funniest in the room. I honestly don’t know how anyone can find him attractive.

lemongirl1985 · 13/02/2024 22:37

@Justletmelogon true! I was gagging when Arabella was sitting on the kitchen counter in her tiny bikini 🤮

Rollergirl11 · 13/02/2024 22:38

God that went on way too long!

hottchocolate · 13/02/2024 22:42

I am with you on this @lemongirl1985

It is all a bit unhygienic them all sitting on various surfaces in just a thong.

The results of this game are pointing to molly and Tom being the potential winners. I don’t dislike them, but kind of hope they don’t win, not sure why though!

Agree, I don’t want them to win.
Molly’s mask is slowly slipping, we were shown a different side of her tonight.

Back21970 · 13/02/2024 23:32

Is ‘deep it’ when talking about feelings a common phrase?

Quite a few of them have said tonight ‘don’t deep it’

Cant imagine anyone I know ever saying it 🤣

I am kind of hoping Callum and Molly get back together but can’t see it happening now until after the final.

hottchocolate · 14/02/2024 07:18

@Back21970 I thought this too! I've never heard anyone say it until this episode. Maybe they're trying to make it a thing 😂

Agree. Never hear it before and they have form for trying to make up catch phrases. (Remember Moving Mad?)

Always thought Josh was a nasty little shit. 'Saying it like it is' (being rude and obnoxious) is always a horrid character trait.

jay55 · 14/02/2024 08:16

The deep it thing was irritating me too last night. I'm happily old and out of touch.

Last night they could have all said it's a game let's take it in turns to stand up there. Especially when it started dragging on.
Georgia and Toby did well at being good sports most the way through, but the way everyone seemed to turn on them the second they didn't want to comply was quite shocking. They'd taken it on the chin all night, any other couple could have said well take a turn.

PenguinIce · 14/02/2024 08:29

Josh might have been harsh to Georgia but he is right that her relationship with Anton is one-sided. It is obvious she has no real feelings for Anton and at this point it is starting to look cruel the way she is stringing him along.

Swizzlersandtwizzlers · 14/02/2024 08:40

Re “deep it” it’s not a phrase I’d use, but it’s a common phrase used mainly by Gen Z.

So, no love islanders definitely did not coin the phrase or make it a thing!

hottchocolate · 14/02/2024 08:57

same @jay55 !

well Love Island makes me feel old!

hottchocolate · 14/02/2024 08:58

I'm going to watch last night's again today as I missed some of the game but I found it quite entertaining as they were all getting wound up!

Rollergirl11 · 14/02/2024 08:59

My teens (18 and 16) use that phrase all the time, “it’s not that deep”. It was annoying at first but I’ve just got used to it now.

jay55 · 14/02/2024 09:05

It's not that deep is very common. It's the Deep it that was jarring.

Rollergirl11 · 14/02/2024 09:09

Also “moving mad” wasn’t something the islanders tried to make a thing. That was another well known phrase amongst Gen Zers.

There are so many things my teens say that I’ve had to ask them what they mean!

“Firming it” means just getting on with it. As in “I’m just gonna firm it” if you have to go to work hungover.

”fumbled” as in “he fumbled her so bad” means that someone lost something good.

Its quite entertaining! 😂

Yes exactly

I think it’s really telling that Georgia H was excused from the heartbeat monitor game.
If the producers acknowledge that it could retraumatise her then they should acknowledge that it’s degrading to all the girls.

Yes I agree but I did think Molly Mae and Tommy had a one sided relationship and so may not be a reliable judge!

I think the whole premise of the show is degrading - how they behave in some of the challenges and then all going to bed snogging and "doing bits" in a shared bedroom but they have all gone into it knowingly especially second time around!

hottchocolate · 14/02/2024 10:38

GS is very full on with Toby. It seems fake.

vjg13 · 14/02/2024 10:41

Yes GS does seem to be acting at lot, with what she says anfpd the looks she gives him. It looks unnatural and very contrived.

If they want to do it it's upto them? How sexy/suggestive it is is their choice. GH did do it but in her own way. It would be far worse if they felt pressured to join in

whathappenedno · 14/02/2024 11:26

Josh and Sophie came across badly in that game very much playground bullies. Molly seemed quite snide too.

Her and Tom will probably win but I'm not keen. I quite like Callum and Jess.

MotherofKitties · 14/02/2024 11:27

Caught up on last night.

I liked Georgia S a lot at the start of the season but I now think she's very contrived. She doesn't come across as genuine at all.

I dislike Josh, he gives me the heebie jeebies but I thought he was quite entertaining last night. It's a fine line between 'telling it like it is' and just being downright rude but on this instance it was a game and a lot of the islanders were taking it waaayyyy too seriously. I wouldn't want to be with someone like that though, I could imagine when he gets actually annoyed by something he could turn quite scary.

Sophie has grown on me, as has Jess (Hope I've got the right twin there...!)

Tom and Molly are dull and won't last. He's too young and she's not ready after Callum.

Callum and Jess seem like they could have a lot of light hearted fun together.

Georgia H and Anton... it's just not happening. I feel bad for him, and she should just be honest.
