Silly Nick!

I’ve just come into the front room and DH is watching Tales of The Unexpected - the bee one! Shock

He says he’s never seen it before! I’ll be having nightmares later!

JaneJeffer · 24/01/2024 18:53

Buzzzzzz Fuzzy Grin

Grin I quite like Fuzzy

I’m not sure I can watch it to the end

JaneJeffer · 24/01/2024 18:59

I have been ranting about House of Games because I'm sure someone got away with spelling kookaburra wrong with one R but it went to a tiebreak and she didn't win so that calmed me down. What do you mean get a life? Grin

I still record all the TOTU episodes and watch them when there is nothing else on.

I love the Bee one Grin

Jane I can not get on with Anne Marie on HoG- and I am confused by whether she is a 'Dr' or not - Richard asked about her PhD and she got all defensive on Monday- and she is listed as 'Dr' on the credits but I think it might be an honorary thing. I wasn't sure if I misheard her kookaburra answer. Grin.

JaneJeffer · 24/01/2024 19:20

She kept looking off to the side as if she was expecting the producer to step in!

I haven't seen TOTU since lockdown but I can't believe we were allowed to watch such scary stories when we were little Grin

I know! Just hearing the theme tune is enough to give the shivers.

This has just reminded me that during the big storm of 1987 I was living in a house share and the electricity went off and we kept ourselves entertained by taking turns reading from the TATU book by candlelight Grin

That sounds like my kind of evening Grin

Fizzywinegum · 24/01/2024 19:48

Grin love the tales of the Unexpected reminiscing - as soon as I saw it I was scared - the bee one scarred me for life - terrifying!

Coco Gauff must be the oldest teenager in history.

Raahh · 25/01/2024 09:15

Ice Grin
I've just managed to sit down.

Coco does seem to have been a teenager for a very long time.

Raahh · 25/01/2024 09:23

I like Aryna but I really want Coco to win, so I don't have to listen to her.

(Plus, I like Coco Grin).

Raahh · 25/01/2024 09:42

I hate tie breaks- Coco worked so hard to get back into the set, and then lost it at the end- and this break is running away from her.

IceandIndigo · 25/01/2024 10:13

Yes that was tough for Coco Raahh. Am hoping she can hang on in this set.

IceandIndigo · 25/01/2024 10:30

Not to be. Well done Aryna.

Raahh · 25/01/2024 10:33

That was a shame, but Coco is reaching more finals, and that is good for someone so young- her level is really consistent.

Well done Aryna.

Raahh · 25/01/2024 10:35

The Netflix curse doesn't seem to have got to Aryna anyway Grin

Raahh · 25/01/2024 10:37

They've turned the lights off on Babsi!

JaneJeffer · 25/01/2024 10:38

Didn't get to watch. Well done Aryna. Coco must be gutted.

Raahh · 25/01/2024 10:46

Jane I thought in the first set, there was the possibility the match might end up going the same way as the US open final- but too many errors from Coco today and Aryna was very strong. and noisy.
I think Coco is getting mentally stronger with each loss though and Brad Gilbert probably has a lot to do with that.

JaneJeffer · 25/01/2024 10:49

Why do they keep saying the Aussies are so knowledgeable about tennis? Do they think the rest of us are sitting here thinking I'm not sure what's going on but I'll watch it anyway? ConfusedGrin

Grin

Maybe it's like Tsitsipas- whatever city he is in, is his favourite.

Whatever country they are in, the people are the most knowledgeable Grin.

IceandIndigo · 25/01/2024 11:38

I mean, it’s true Australians are generally in to sport, but I’m not sure that means they’re more knowledgeable Hmm
