I don't think Laura was too happy about being compared to a little girl!

I had to go to the hairdressers so didn’t see much of the Sinner/Rublev match - who had trapped wind? (Obviously that’s the most important thing about the match!)

I always worry when I go to yoga and the teacher says that we’re going to be doing the wind releasing pose Grin

kazzaD66 · 23/01/2024 14:25

Poor Andrey.
Let's hope Sinner blows Djok off the court.

Was this anything to do with the trapped wind? Grin

Grin fizzy

Raahh · 23/01/2024 17:22

Fizzy it was Jannik Grin
and between that and the pooing seagulls, it was quite an eventful day Grin

JaneJeffer · 23/01/2024 17:25

Fizzy 😂

Yes sounds a very eventful day! It could hopefully be Jannik’s secret weapon - or maybe a seagull will poop on Djok Grin

JaneJeffer · 23/01/2024 17:36

If Jannik was sneaky like Djokovic he would have said yes I think I have got an injury and walked around clutching his abdomen for the first set. When will these boys learn?!

Raahh · 23/01/2024 17:36

It's good luck, according to Mark Philippoussis, having a seagull poo on you.

So we don't need Djok benefitting from that Grin.

But he can slip on the poop on the court.

Jannik is far too nice to do sneaky.

But he does need to learn some dirty tricks against Djok.

I was about to come and say the same Grin

I still buy loads of them, for my dds to make revision flash cards. At least, that's the idea.

I don’t like Daniil’s trainers. From a distance it looks like he’s got very small white trainers on attached to some weird platforms.

Good win for him though!

Raahh · 24/01/2024 07:09

They are very odd, Chessie , I thought the other day they looked like hooves!
It was a good win, though I do like Hibi, but if any one has the stamina to stay the course, it's Daniil.

ChessieFL · 24/01/2024 07:48

Hooves, yes, that’s a good description!

Fizzywinegum · 24/01/2024 08:39

It sounds like a fun match

Not sure how much of the Alcaraz/Zverev match I’ll see - feel like I’ve not see Carlos play for ages - wonder if it will be another 5 setter for Zverev?

I was talking to my hairdresser yesterday about an Escape from Alcatraz escape room (not sure why!) and I was calling it Escape from Alcaraz Grin

IceandIndigo · 24/01/2024 10:37

It’s going to be another late night for the male players. I can’t understand how they think they can schedule potentially 8 sets of tennis in the evening and expect to finish at a reasonable hour.

Raahh · 24/01/2024 10:53

Ice it's getting crazy- considering they were supposed to have 'fixed' the problem with the extra day (yeah, right) after last year- if anything, this year has been worse. I am also getting a bit tired of hearing how speeding up courts and fluffing up balls will solve all the problems (thanks Mac). That might shave a few minutes here and there- but clearly the way the game is played now, matches are longer.

They need to start the night session earlier, or scrap it all together and just play right through like Wimbledon does- with a decent curfew.
But they won't want to do that- due to ticket sales and broadcasting.

And yes Tim, we know you saw a 5 set Sampras/Agassi match that lasted 3 hours- but Pistol Pete averaged how many aces a match?

Raahh · 24/01/2024 10:55

lovely interview with Zheng.

JaneJeffer · 24/01/2024 11:01

Our power went out again yesterday evening. Just back in time for Carlos/Sascha. I've had enough stormy weather now, that'll do thanks.

Well done Zheng.
