It's back! Sunday 19:45... get your handkerchiefs at the ready for Keith!

Didn't like any of them this week, unusually. Just thought the forms were ugly looking. Can see why Donna's won as it made the most of the light.

It’s going to be incredibly difficult to vote anyone off this week, even if their designs go wrong. Perhaps they will have a No One Goes week, they have before.

Yes. Well potter number 6 presented a pile of pottery shrapnel as his work exploded in the kiln, but since it represented the time he survived an airplane crash that killed his entire family and his cat I guess we better let him stay this week otherwise we will be ripped to shreds by social media.

elgreco · 19/02/2024 10:36

They were awful. It also seems unfair on those who don't want to share their trauma.

LaBelleSauvage123 · 19/02/2024 11:34

Yes I admired Steven for keeping the details of his ‘story’ to himself.

I don’t really understand why the judges never liked Sophie’s stuff. Quite a few weeks I’ve liked her pottery and the judges have been overly critical or not given it the praise it deserves.

Don’t think she deserved to go.

I thought her pots were always technically very good, they just didn’t seem to have the “soul” that the others do. There don’t seem to be as much of herself in them as the other contestants. And that’s something that the judges seem to value.

SoupDragon · 19/02/2024 16:27

I think her stuff is often lacking in something... finesse maybe? They liked her Staffordshire flat backs I think - the pair with her by a tree.

i do think her lamp this week looked clunkier than the others. If the carved areas had been more successful at letting the light through I think it might have been a different result.

i think the remaining potters are all pretty much the same level apart from Donna. It's very close at the bottom each week.

I thought Donna's looked better spaced out in the gallery at the end but generally didn't like any if these and also didn't enjoy the shorter challenge (which Sophie did pretty well at). Perhaps it didn't translate well on to tv as a challenge. Shame as the lamp challenges are usually quite magical.

Really loved Donna's sculpture this week and thought she really deserved pottery of the week. I was a bit surprised that Sophie went - there were a couple of other potters who I thought should have gone instead. Looking forward to next week - excellent show. 🌹

I've been thinking more about Donna's sculpture. I think the black part would have looked better if she hadn't squashed the coils down meaning they retained their roundness. I also think it would have looked better if they had maybe been thinner but more of them. The porcelain part was perfect.

I want to know whether Rose actually did have bow tie for dinner given Dan's sculpture made it through the firing.

Evening. Anyone seen Rich on the Woodland Workshop? He is so talented. Also seems incredibly nice.

Piggywaspushed · 25/02/2024 19:58

He does seem very lovely.

CurlewKate · 25/02/2024 19:59

I love Rich.

TheSpottedZebra · 25/02/2024 20:01

Evening!
I like the sprig molds -possibly as they remind me of biscuit forms.

Piggywaspushed · 25/02/2024 20:03

Oh no! Dave!!

SpamhappyTootsie · 25/02/2024 20:03

Nooooooo!

CurlewKate · 25/02/2024 20:03

This is too stressful for me! I'm trying to eat a seriously delicious roast dinner and the tension is spoiling it...

FuzzyPuffling · 25/02/2024 20:06

The bottom has fallen out of Birkenhead.

That's ambitious dining for TV viewing.
I like your style.

Spareincoming · 25/02/2024 20:08

Oh no Dave! Who’s going to help him… if anyone is prepared to…

We’re also wondering if Donna is regretting using the Belfast cranes earlier in the series, they’d be iconic on such a large canvas.

SpamhappyTootsie · 25/02/2024 20:08

Keith is just brilliant.
