I want to line up some good series to binge in January.
We loved Sopranos and more recently Ozark and Succession

What would you recommend?

I'm really enjoying The Gilded Age (Julian Fellowes period drama set in America in the 1880s) and rewatching Modern Family as there is a new series out next month

I'm not seeing anything on IMDB about a Modern Family reboot?

My friend can't say enough about Slow Horses!
Definitely Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul if you've not seen them.
The Haunting of Hill House if you can cope with spooky.

Another oldie, Spiral on iPlayer. French detective series, with subtitles. Absolutely gripping.

We’re looking forward to the new Harlan Coben on Netflix. Think it’s out on 5th Jan.

I really enjoyed the three you mentioned so must have similar taste! Here’s some more of my favourites:

Top Boy
Money Heist
Inventing Anna
Line of Duty
Dear Child
Damages
The Wire
The Lincoln Lawyer
The Diplomat
The Sinner
Narcos

Black Snow on iPlayer was something I've recently watched and enjoyed.

You will not regret it!

I just finished Fellow Travelers on Paramount+, it's unbelievably good (I predict many an Emmy win) and I cried like a baby at the last episode.

Scaleyflagpole · 30/12/2023 09:46

An older one but if you've not seen it it's very similar to the ones you like..

Boardwalk Empire ( probably Now/Sky). It is superb.

dontforgetme · 30/12/2023 09:58

Euphoria. It's brilliant.

BobnLen · 01/01/2024 06:30

The new Harlan Coben series is on Netflix today, The Tourist series 2 is on iPlayer today.

MrsHughesPinny · 01/01/2024 08:58

Outlander, if you haven’t seen that yet. I’m so jealous of people getting to watch it for the first time! Also Wheel of Time.

I second The Gilded Age.

More in line with the ones you’ve mentioned:
Bloodline, Scandal, Luther, Mare of Easttown, The Tunnel (riveting!), The Fall, Bancroft, Our Girl… I watch too much TV apparently!

MrsHughesPinny · 01/01/2024 09:01

@roundcork I could watch Uhtred read the phone book… 😍😆

Bookworm1993 · 01/01/2024 11:25

I'd recommend blue lights police drama on iplayer- we really enjoyed it.
Next lined up are dear child and the new harlan coven on netlfix
My comfort shows are gilmore girls, greys anatomy and Chicago fire so will probably revisit them when the weather is dark and gloomy
