I think it's so good. Love Fargo anyway, but this series focusing on domestic violence and strong women just really hitting all the right buttons for me. Also giving me strong Home Alone vibes.

Anyone else?

It's so, so good. At no point do you think you're watching actors, despite the wild storylines it feels utterly real.

We just call Gator 'Steve', my son can't perceive him as a baddie at all. Even Dorothy said he has good in his eyes. I'm hoping against hope he can change.

Gutted about Danish but they have to be brave enough to dispatch beloved characters or there's no jeopardy.

Absolutely no idea how it will all end but I hope they can squeeze in a few more character back stories. If anything happens to De Witt I'll have to phone in sick 😭😭😭

Yes, really enjoying it. It's a brilliant TV show for anyone who hasn't seen the rest of the seasons.

I thought episode 9 would be available today. Not yet on my Amazon prime anyway.

I realised that I missed season 4 so have started that in the meantime.

bilbodog · 10/01/2024 10:19

episode 9 there now

youngestisapsycho · 10/01/2024 14:38

Just watching now… gutted have to wait till next week for final! 😞

Awrite · 10/01/2024 18:56

Episode 9 is excellent. Loved, loved the line 'no daughter of mine.... '

Right, back to the inferior season 4.

MorrisZapp · 10/01/2024 23:56

Surely the final will have to be extra long? They can't wrap this up in 40 minutes. I was beside myself watching that, gogglebox producers sign me up!

Lionoso · 11/01/2024 17:41

Best thing on TV right now.

The bit where Jennifer Jasons Leight's character spoke to Dorothy on the phone was really emotional. I was not expecting that.

Can't wait until next week.

Lottapianos · 11/01/2024 17:51

It's so brilliant. The entire cast are sensational but Jon Hamm is really something - genuinely frightening and just vile. I completely believe in all of the characters. Lorraine is also vile but so entertaining

'Loved, loved the line 'no daughter of mine.... ''

Absolutely loved that too ☺️

Watched Ep 9 now. Still not clear where the be-skirted guy fits in, although obviously has a hate on for the Sheriff. So awful for Gator - and then to be dismissed the way he was by his father.

Awrite · 12/01/2024 22:09

I think his vengeance was for Gator for killing the old lady.

He respects Dot as she is a tiger.

Very complex chap.

Ah - right, I see; although still not clear on his backstory.
I probably should concentrate more.

Dot really is a fierce tiger!
I really just wanted her to get away from that ranch, instead of hiding out there. The Sheriff seemed to be wise to the places she would try to conceal herself.

I think we need to go back to Wales 500 years ago for his back story. 😉

Yes, Dot is my hero right now. Also, Lorraine and Officer Olmstead.

By the way, no-one I know in real life has been watching. Everyone at work raving about the Traitors so I have so appreciated knowing you guys are here and have been watching.

MorrisZapp · 13/01/2024 10:56

John Hamm is what Robert De Niro should be but isn't.

Lottapianos · 13/01/2024 11:12

'John Hamm is what Robert De Niro should be but isn't'

Can you say more? Jon Hamm is absolutely brilliant but I think De Niro is too

Oh, I am still missing something about the bowl-haircut guy.... (and I have actually read at least one of the recaps on the NYT website).
But Fargo - and Coen Brothers films generally - does usually have inexplicable elements. NCFOM being a classic example.

The Traitors doesn't appeal to me at all. In fact, not much TV, or drama, does these days - but Fargo (this season at least, and the first two) is something I have enjoyed, regardless of the cast, most of the time.

Great to have somewhere to discuss it - but also trying to avoid spoilering, or spoilers myself, as I do not watch on the day it goes onto Prime.

MalcolmTuckersSwearBox · 13/01/2024 20:00

I'm watching and am up to date but I find it very triggering (childhood) and so can only half watch it but it's very well cast, written and acted. Classic Fargo.

chattyness · 13/01/2024 20:22

Absolutely loving it but having to watch weekly on prime instead of the usual binge watch on netflix has bugged me somewhat, I can't wait for the next episode and they never seem long enough! Juno Temple is brilliant in it it too.

MalcolmTuckersSwearBox · 13/01/2024 20:28

Juno Temple and the Olsen sister who was in Love & Hate recently look so alike, it's uncanny.

Awrite · 17/01/2024 17:02

Final episode is up!

MorrisZapp · 17/01/2024 17:22

Omg no spoilers please!!! Maybe we should have a post finale free for all thread for full discussion?

Oh god it's all going to go off isn't it. Ooh me nerves.

Lottapianos · 17/01/2024 20:17

Wow! Mostly loved that episode. Lorraine is SUCH a brilliant character, I will actually miss her now the series is over ☺️

I want to watch it all again from the start

Beeinalily · 17/01/2024 21:06

Just watched the last one, so brilliant. Thanks for the thread and for your comments, sometimes I miss subtexts and others thoughts help me.

Awrite · 17/01/2024 21:21

Yeah, I loved it too. Mostly.

I swithered between thinking it was a little self indulgent and thinking 'I'll forgive it because it's you'.

Lorraine is my new role model.

I will definitely watch again. In a year or so.

LyndaLaHughes · 18/01/2024 18:06

Just finished it- incredible. Sam Spruell was amazing. John Hamm was a superb villain. The best thing I've seen in ages.
